Certainly seemed like the Broadcast just covered up for the inept non-officiating there.

They weren't even able to highlight the original supposed offset - they didn't show what Settle did to get the violent reaction from the center.

Even with Settle/center offsetting, swinging a helmet is a different level of Personal Foul.

The broadcast was especially terrible on explaining things like that. Even more than broadcasts these days have been terrible when it comes to discussing penalties. Al Michaels showed no interest in explaining or discussing much of anything.

Why on earth would Jordan Phillips grab Baker’s face mask when he was stopped dead to rights. This is Sean’s weakness as a defensive coach. No discipline, no individual accountability and veteran players putting their frustration ahead of team success. Sean is definitely an impediment to this team fulfilling thei destiny.

Yeah, but that play went on several beats longer than it should have. Slow whistle led to further wrestling which led to the facemask grab.

Can Andy Reid share the therapist who made him find the light ?

I believe his name was Patrick Mahomes.

  3. One doesn't have to believe in conspiracies to know that the good teams get the calls and the bad teams don't. Things occasionally break the other way because of human unpredictability, but the Chefs are not the first good team to get the calls when they need them. They also won't be the last.

It's literally a carbon copy of what happened to us against the Jags a couple years ago, and cost us the game.  Sure we played like crap, but it was a close game and all the non calls for their RT being a full 2 yards off the ball when snapped on every play helped the Jags.

    *edit*

Tackles lining up so far back and never being called for it is one of my biggest pet peeves about officiating.

Especially when the League also allows random line judges to flag wide receivers for not "covering up the tackle"

  5. It's the eternal situation--many people think being critical shows how smart they are, and think that positivity is somehow dumb.

Those binaries are of course silly. That people apply them to the toy department of life is even sillier.

Enjoy the games, my Bills brethren. The world is awful but hope is beautiful. Choose hope.

    Go Bills!

If the NFL actually enforced the play clock like the NBA enforced the shot clock, then Dorsey would adjust. Teams know they get that extra second (or more) and it affects their behavior.

The only explanation for why the NFL still calls it this way is because they want it to remain subjective so they can ignore it when it suites the leagues needs.

I find it very appropriate that we are having this discussion as we prepare for the Bills to play Cincy in the playoffs, since that game included one of the most painful delay of game flags in league history....

Giants are locked into the 6 seed and have nothing to play for.

I'm shocked they didn't put the jags game Sunday night.

NFL probably hoping for a bills win tomorrow so they can put Baltimore Cincinnati on SNF.

Hey, if the NFL wants to put its thumb on the scale to get what it wants for next Sunday, that's OK with me.

  8. I listen to a lot of the Bills games online or on SXM, and like the continuity with Murph as well as his excitement at big moments, but I agree he has his limitations. My biggest complaint is he has trouble calling running plays. You can rarely tell from his inflection whether the back has just ripped off a 20-yard scamper or got dropped for a loss and have to rely on the crowd reaction before he will finally say what happened. That may just show how hard it is to do the job as well as Van Miller did--though Van had his problems with calling passes caught that were not, misnaming players and yardage, etc. It's not an easy job.

I have no problem saying I am not 100% confident that our secondary would not give up a long pass for a score.

Guess I am the only one that has seen them do this... recently too.

you can say it. Heck, I’ll say it too. But we can’t say we know what McD was thinking. And we certainly can’t jump to the conclusion that he lacked confidence in his D when he made his decision.

Some could ask the same question about listening to you, we were tied at the time and a kick is not a given.

Folks are making a good argument that you take the points.

So that begs the question why did they not take the points, but instead chose to lie down at the one yard line and risk a kick missing and going  into OT?

    It's a legit question.

It is a legit question. It is not a legit statement to say that the decision to play for the kick shows lack of faith in the defense. That’s just people looking to carp about McD.

I do think Hill and the KC 13 seconds was looming in the coaching staff's head.

Not a vote of confidence in your D,  but I can see how it drove that decision.

Not saying I agreed with it.

Does going into victory formation or running down the clock demonstrate lack of faith in your defense? Why not just punt to the other team and let the D stop them? Do you people listen to yourselves?

You forgot to mention that Sean "Glory to God" McDermott also sucks, as does last night's tackling and defense (the OC and DC are extensions of Father McDermott).  The Bills have a transcendent Quarterback, the sole reason they are a Super Bowl contender.  Without Josh Allen and with literally every other player and coach on the team, the Bills might battle for a Wild Card spot and would never sniff the Super Bowl.  Sean McDermott is a horrible game manager and rides the coattails of the superstar QB to account for his Win-Loss record.  Sean McDermott contributes literally nothing to the success of the Buffalo Bills.  If the team can win in spite of the idiot, religious fanatic coach, so be it.

We play like we did yesterday against the Chiefs, the Bengals or, if we get that far, the 49ers, Eagles or Cowboys and we get beaten. And there are weaknesses which we are relucant to or cannot address. If this was a one off, fine, but a lot of the issues shown yesterday have been persistent across the season.

An excellent win and a strong record this season is all well and good but improvement is required if we want to make and win the Super Bowl. I think that's all most are saying.

I’d say that if the Bills score 32 points in bad weather they would win a lot of games against a lot of teams. I guess that makes me a homer.
