The rape kit has yet to be processed.

This happens a lot in the US. There are 200k unprocessed rape kits in the US. Think about that for a minute.

True, but that is primarily because police handle each situation differently. Rape kits are meaningless in many cases. DA's need much more than a rape kit to bring charges, especially in a case like this where it does nothing but confirm what both sides already said  happened. The rape kit is useless to the DA in this case.

I get the sense that BB was on the wait it out side. “He needs time to manage this situation”

But McD was on the “these are serious accusations and we are empathetic of the victim”

The ladies in the house are not happy with Bean at the moment and appreciated McD interjecting.

Huh? Bean was brilliant. He did what was good for the team and at the same time letter players on the team know the Bills organization has their backs, but only to a certain point.

Or, they knew it was a possibility and heard his side of the story and believed they could back him because they thought that the allegations were false.

    Crazy how that works, right?

What? Who cares what his side of the story was. There was ZERO chance of this not eventually becoming a major distraction. And for what? A punter. Even if he did nothing, why would the super bowl favorite, a team that rarely punts, put itself in this position. Insanity.

Let some 4-13 team with no media exposure take that risk. This is the Prime Time Bills.  We now live on the national stage. You need to act like that.

I'm pretty sure the notion of her actually telling people she was a college student/legal age might have something to do with defending a stat rape charge.  This part isn't a he said/she said case that needs a long investigation, he already admitted to having sex with her.  The fact that he wasn't charged with stat rape long ago is likely proof that there's something there with the claims she was lying about making it known she was underage.

He is going to get charged. My guess is all this national attention is being coordinated with some ambitious DA and somebody running for office.  This case will be brought right in middle of election season.

He likely has a great defense but he is going to get charged.

It is up to the DA. Personally I would be surprised if a DA charged a 21 year old with statutory rape for having sex with a 17 year old at a college party when the 17 year old admitted that she lied about being in college, especially several months after the alleged act.

There is not a DA alive who will pass on charging someone in a high profile case. They make careers out of this type of case. It is wrong, but that is how DA offices work.

Ariza on NBC news now…. Ugh

The losers at NBC lied about the Duke lacrosse case. This case actually has some merit. Even if it didn't NBC would still lie. Remember the awful people at NBC covered for Weinstein and Lauer. NBC is worse news out there. Apparently everyone including the fake crying clown Savannah Guthrie helped cover for Lauer and Weinstein. My friend interned there. He claimed everyone there is a cocaine and booze fiend. That is not exactly unusual in corporate news world.

Are the police still investigating? What is taking so long? This is not a complicated case. Either charge him or not. I don’t blame the girls family for being frustrated with lack of action.

The police handed it over to the District Attorney. They now have to decide what charges to bring. It gets tricky with underage girls. Especially if they lied and said they were  in college when they were only 17 and in high school.

He admitted to having sex with her. She was 17. That is all the Bills need to know. Cut him.  He may not have raped her, she may be a crazy person, but this is not the Duke lacrosse team situation.

Hopefully it all works out for him. If it does Cleveland will find a spot for him.

  9. The Pegulas have a daughter on the professional women's tennis tour. And a couple other daughters. Terry Pegula is not going to allow this guy to remain on the team.

Pretty confident Pegula would get rid of him based on the statutory rape claim alone. The guy admitted to having sex with her. He can't survive that even if it was consensual. I am not sure how the guy gets around the 17yr old girl issue even if everything else is false.

I can appreciate your viewpoint, but that's what it was worth to the eggheads of our franchise. They should have a pretty clear idea of what's needed to them, don't you think?

I think they picked him based on value, not need. You can't really evaluate the Bills punter based on net. They move the ball down the field so much.  Just my opinion.

Beane and Mcdermott are paid millions of dollars to handle this stuff. They are all about doing things the right way. They have info we do not. Why do they HAVE to act immediately?

Seen lots of high character people bend rules to get over the top. Tons of good people make bad decisions in order to achieve a goal.

  12. 1.  We lost a hearbreaker in 2022.

    2. We had a mass shooting in Buffalo.

    3. Our owner had a life threatening health issue.

We don't need some moron punter distracting a team, a city, an owner, and a fanbase that could really use a good news run at our first World Championship.

My guess is he will thankfully be cut by the Bills or suspended by the NFL before week 1.  No way the team and league allow a punter to distract from opening night of NFL Season.

Maybe a guy who didn't know he had an STD and tested positive after the encounter? Maybe a guy who got the STD during that incident?  Maybe a guy who even got the STD from her?

Too many conclusions being drawn on too few facts.

I know he is a distraction and is just a punter.  That is all I need to know.

For those of you who live in New York, your age of consent is 17.  It would have been perfectly legal for Matt Araiza to have sex with the Jane Doe in his Buffalo apartment.

True, but what type of guy with an STD has sex with a girl without telling her before it. A low character guy. Get rid of this clown.
