  1. I watched it when it first came out, then rewatched it last week because it kept coming up as the top suggestion on Netflix and its been a few year now.

As far as the age topic and the perception from that, I was in kindergarten for the first superbowl appearance. Experiencing those four years as an elementary school kid, it made me feel that it was just a normal thing for the Bills to be in the superbowl, let alone the playoffs. Fast forward a few years when I understood the sport a bit better then understand what the achievement those years really meant. Then just to be hit with the drought soon after was a real punch to the face.

Im not saying it only happens in Buffalo, but there are lots of stadiums where guys don’t perform that behavior.  I’ve been to the Jax stadium many times and Miami even more, and never witnessed it.  I don’t care, and laugh when I see the guys, but it’s also kind of gross as I normally wash my hands always after and can’t do that in Buffalo with people peeing in the sinks.

Anyway, I’m happy Steel is coming up, and can’t wait for my first game in the new stadium.  I fully expect the tix are going to be a lot more expensive and am prepared for it.  I still will take my kids up for whatever Sunday game in September is at 1pm.  It’s too hard to make a night game.  Not when I fly back Monday morning as most of the time the only nonstop on SWas that is the only airline that has one nonstop to Tampa.

I was at the Bills/Chargers game when the weather balloon knocked the power out to the stadium (2008 I think). I just finished in the bathroom and my friend was in line a little bit back. I went to grab us some beer and the power went out while he was still I there. Needless to say, he said when it went out it was no holds barred in there.

    RIP fellas.

I'm so glad I don't partake. The words "Hey Babe, you wanna do some lines, possibly laced with Fentanyl, then watch the game while stoned?" will never cross my lips.

How can you appreciate the nuances of football while stoned or ripped-drunk? There's only 17+ games a year, I want to appreciate every play.

During the drought years there wasn't a whole lot of nuanced Bills football to appreciate. Had seasons for a number of years during that stretch while in college and shortly after. We would spend a lot more time drinking and eating than paying attention to the game. Hours later having conversations about the game with friends and family that were sober during it and would have no idea what they were talking about but would just nod and go along with it.

"Can you believe they called pass interference on the second play of the half?" Me, "yeah that was ridiculous." But in my head: Did we win?

Here's a wild ass theory I saw today.  With Jim Harbaugh going to the Chargers, Belichick goes to coach Michigan.  Now here's the wild part, Tom Brady, since he has been away from football for a year now, is considered an amateur again, and can claim his 4th year of NCAA eligibility and go back to Michigan as their QB.

Reminds me of Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield.

Okay, Bob. I’ll rephrase. Very sporting event (baseball, football, hockey) that I’ve been to over the last decade or so has played that song.

    Why?

    It is familiar to most.
    It has a great beat.
It is easy to clap to.
    It is simple.

    We’re not talking rocket surgery.

It gets McDermott all fired up.

He was in camp and made a few plays. Also supposedly an elite gunner.

I wish I was a young safety prospect in the upcoming NFL draft (or now). Theres no other team I’d pick than one that might have two holes at the position.

With all the questionable roster structuring we can criticize this regime for, having a strong pipeline of elite gunners will never be one of them.

  7. This whole thing reminds me of the end of Field of Dreams when James Earl Jones says something along the lines of:

“People will come Ray. They'll come for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why”... then they jump

yeah, if that was the Bills on offense that would have been intercepted, ran in for a touchdown, and two of our guys would have been injured in the process to boot.

And we would have to see all the graphics of Allen being a turnover machine.
