Glad to see the kid get the ball. His talent was obvious for anyone paying attention. Having him involved heavy in the offense will be critical for here on out. Job well done by the OC.

Complaining about officials is not something I really ever do but it was so obviously one sided and bad on this one it is unavoidable.

The team McDermott took over was a .500 team under Rex f-ing Ryan, hardly a completely bare cupboard...he broke the drought by taking them to 9-7. BFD
No one gave him credit for JA's success. He is given credit for sticking with him when a lot of people thought he was not the guy. This included the majority of the fans and almost all of the media.
I gave him credit for turning the loser mentality of the team around.
Which, he clearly did.
Peterman did not last a game, so that is irrelevant.
A moot point to say the least.
Juron went 7-9.
Rex was a disaster and went 8-8.
Not one coach after Levy is even worth a mention, until McD.
We can agree to disagree.
Nothing more is needed from you.

I wholeheartedly disagree.
Josh Allen was not the toast of the town when he was drafted.
Hardly anyone could foresee what he would become.
As a matter of fact, most people were calling for his head after year one and/or year two. ("They drafted the wrong Josh")
McDermott started him from day one and never wavered from his commitment.
One of the coaches previous to him may have pulled him or had a quarterback competition. (It would not have been surprising)
McD stuck with his guy and together it has paid off.
The whole mental culture of Bills football has changed since McD came.
It is as if no one remembers the loser mentality before he arrived.
Note:
He broke the draught with Tyrod Taylor, they of course had help from Cincinatti, but credit is due for making winning a common thing in Buffalo.
Be careful what you wish for.
A lot of people were calling for Daboll's head and look how that turned out.

I agree, two misses in the playoffs (two losing subpar seasons) with this talent provides a reasonable reason to move on. This season is not over yet and winning cures all. If this season does not turn out the way we all hope, with the key injuries the Bills have had and the possibility that Dorsey brought a negative energy to the offense, I would like to see where things go in 2024 before the HC is canned.

2. The most winning coach since Levy. One in which has brought Buffalo from a complete laughingstock and irrelevant to fans being disappointed if they do not make the playoffs. The whole demeanor of Bills football changed the day he was hired. This season has been an anomaly in my opinion. The Bills as a team has underperformed and if they turn it around and go on a rampage, it should be clear to everyone why.
No, I am not on the can the coach train.
I have lived through Dick Juron and other losers. Good coaches and team chemistry are hard to come by.
If the Bills go on a sustained losing streak and become irrelevant once again...sure, it is time for a change.
If they fire him for this season, it is possible, they get a winner, but like the draught should have taught anyone who survived it, it is also possible to get a complete loser.

It seems that Dorsey was bringing bad energy. Gut feeling said after the change the Bills would go on a run. Will it be enough, time will tell but it was obvious that something was there that was bringing the O down. If Brady is the cure to the disease that was plaguing this team, then watch out. Bills football may become fun to watch again. The upcoming game against the Eagles will be telling.

It seems the commenters on this post have a better idea of what to do on offense than Dorsey. Run the ball more, play action more and less shotgun formation. It really is that simple. Who knows, this may be the iron to the backside the team desperately needs.

With the weapons there simply is no reason for the offense to play like it has. This will likely be the right call and possibly bring some new life into an underperforming offense.

If there is anything one learned from watching the Bills of old, it is that the Kelly/Thomas/Reed trifecta was a lot more effective than the Marino/Duper/Clayton trifecta.
The complimentary run game made the Bills almost unstoppable.
Whereas Marino/Dolphins were a one trick pony.
A large part of why the Bills dominated the Dolphins during those years.
Likewise, once Elway had his Davis, Superbowl winner.
The Bills today do not even try to run on some Sundays. Six attempts are not enough. Cook is talented and a homerun threat, heavily under used.
It appears that they over utilize the shot gun formation and underutilize run/play action.
This needs to change.

The "journalist" takes what JA says and spins it with a condescending tone. Not worth the time spent to reading it. Essentially, JA is trying to find an in-between mindset where he is not too high/low. There is nothing wrong with that.

The game in London was not exactly 100% on the team. The Giants game, I had a gut feeling that it would be a hangover from the London game. Travelling to London and preparing for games has to be a nightmare. Curious to see them now that the London game and its remnants are completely behind them. This week should provide a better gage on if that was it or if it is something more to it.

I had high hopes for him after seeing the potential last year. He has not disappointed so far. I hope they continue to feed him the rock. Every Kelly needs its Thurman.

Going into the season I saw this position as their biggest potential weakness. If Bernard continues down this road it turns into a surprising strength and this season could be really special. Curious to see this D against the fish. It will be a big indicator on where they truly are at.

He was a prospect that ultimately did not play out. When drafted he was young and physically impressive. His instincts were never good and after all is said and done, he never had the nose for the football or the wherewithal to make big plays (at least to date).
It is really early in the season, but the Bills may actually be better off without him in the lineup.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out as the season goes on.

I was really excited about what Cook could bring to the table before the season began. I hope this game is a sign of things to come. It is too soon to tell but having a Thurman/Kelly like combo adds a dynamic that is very hard to stop.

The years between Levy and McD the Bills certainly were not winning anything.

How Josh reacts to the adversity of both last year's playoff loss and this opener will dictate the success or failure of this season.
If this loss lights a sustainable fire under his ass, then it could be a positive thing going forward.
If he spirals in a downward trend then the success has gotten to his head, and he lacks what his career, thus far, has been built on.
Hard work, humbleness and the hunger to win.
Let us hope for the former.

"For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother. I'm on the stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation. I'm beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.

She is a primary educator to our children. She is the one who ensures I never let football or my business become a distraction from that of a husband and father. She is the person that knows me best at my core, and it is through our marriage that, Lord willing, we will both attain salvation.
I say all of this to you because I have seen it firsthand how much happier someone can be when they disregard the outside noise and move closer and closer to God's will in their life. Isabelle's dream of having a career might not have come true, but if you asked her today if she has any regrets on her decision, she would laugh out loud, without hesitation, and say, “Heck, No.”
As a man who gets a lot of praise and has been given a platform to speak to audiences like this one today, I pray that I always use my voice for God and not for myself. Everything I am saying to you is not from a place of wisdom, but rather a place of experience. I am hopeful that these words will be seen as those from a man, not much older than you, who feels it is imperative that this class, this generation, and this time in our society must stop pretending that the things we see around us are normal."
