bad game by 17, and was really hoping Dorsey would improve so far it is the same.... no feel for the game
Maybe Dorsey should be down on the field calling the game.

I think any of the top AFC quarterbacks have a chance. Herbert, Mahomes, Jackson, and Allen are all in the mix.
-
I still don't understand why nobody uses points scored per drive as a way of assessing an offense's production.

We really should appreciate how good this message board is compared to most other teams' boards. They are either inactive or toxic because they don't have any mods.
I was annoyed that the official Bills message board was shut down years ago (thanks Russ Brandon), but this one is a great place to talk to fellow Bills fans.

I picked 3+ because there will be some roster churn on the bottom of the 53 and the practice squad while they negotiate with recently released players. There's also plenty of time for practice injuries and stashing guys on IR.

You mean Week 1?
He wasn't healthy enough to play in preseason and he'll probably need some time to learn the defense, especially at the Mike position where he will be relaying play calls.

I think he'll be the starter after our bye week.

I think we need to have Sherfield out wide on those types of plays because he's our best blocking wr by far.

No clue who gets traded but I wouldn't lose sleep seeing AJE or Boogie gone.
I thought Boogie looked great in preseason, so I don't want him gone. He seems like he's in much better shape and ready to have a breakout year.

Right. But what if Josh is only hurt for a game or two? Gotta have a guy you can bank on to hold the fort and I don’t think we have that guy at the momemt.
The downside to adding another qb this late is that they won't be comfortable in the offense until mid-season and they won't get many reps in practice.

I think he starts the season on the PUP list, which will allow us to keep one extra player on the 53 until he's back.

OT is more important than QB2 IMO!
I agree. If Josh gets hurt long-term, our season is done anyway.

OT depth is needed and we might move a wr, de, or late round pick to make that happen.

"Beane told me Allen has struggled from the very beginning. He just doesn't have what it takes / it's never gonna happen for him. He said he was very concerned."
Don't worry, maybe he was just referring to Josh Allen.

IMO, if we planned to trade him, we wouldn't have him on the field late in a preseason game and risk injury.

Why trade Epenesa? He's the 3rd best pass rusher on the team (behind Von and Floyd) respectively.
It's the final year of his rookie contract and Basham has outplayed him in preseason. He only really saw significant action in garbage time last year and OT is the much more dire need after losing Shell and Doyle.
There really aren't any decent Tackles left in free agency besides Nsekhe and Peters who are both ancient.
-
I think we trade away a late pick for OT depth. We have an extra 6th rounder that we could bundle with a receiver or possibly Epenesa.

After playing Madden 23 and experiencing that glitchy mess, I am never getting another game in that half-assed series. We need another developer to make NFL video games.

It seems like very few of these undersized 1st round linebackers taken in the last few years have panned out.
Devin Lloyd, Isaiah Simmons, Devin White, and Devin Bush were all drafted in the 1st and have been big disappontments.
Maybe the pendulum will swing the other direction and we'll go back to having huge linebackers like Levon Kirkland

If Andy Isabella makes the team, there will be at least one guaranteed surprise cut.
I don't think Isabella is the only wr who could fight his way onto the roster in preseason. Patmon and Ateman both looked good and caught every pass thrown to them.

I thought Doyle and Shell looked reasonably good at RT. If Torrence continues to improve, it should make the RT's job easier.

On another note, that was a terrible throw by Lance that by pure luck ending up being a touchdown instead of a pick.
Trey Lance doesn't look like he'll ever develop into a decent starter.

He's had a quiet summer, but I think Tim Settle looks healthy and ready to become a dominant player on the interior.

Leonard Floyd and Micah Hyde say they're all good

If they are good to go next week, we'll be remarkably healthy after 2 games. It would be amazing to have Floyd, Rousseau, and Von all healthy heading into the playoffs.
