I don’t want to commandeer the SB thread, but I’d highly suggest people spend the $10 per month for NFL+. There’s an assumption that Allen holds the ball forever because nobody is open and that simply isn’t the case all.

Or, go to Pro Football Focus, where they dissect every play of every game and see where Josh Allen ranks.  ( spoiler alert: he’s ranked higher than both QBs in the Super Bowl).

4 targets 2 catches ........... same average roughly as Davis.  Live by the deep ball and die by it.  Both of those throws should have been picked.

Yes they should have…that’s my point on Brown. 2 picks for many receivers end up being a TD & an incompletion for Brown. I hated going against him at Tennessee. I’m glad he’s in the NFC.

I had a relative who worked at DFW doing a lot of “special concierge” type projects for wealthy and high profile people. She said that all those 1990s Cowboys stars were great guys: Aikman, Emmitt, even Jimmy Johnson. Except for one entitled obnoxious doosh. Michael Irvin.

My friend was a good friend of Troy Aikman. Troy never mentioned Irvin, but in his first few years in Dallas, he was embarrassed to be around Jimmy Johnson & Jerry Jones at parties. Both of these married guys (in their 40s) would have a few drinks and hit on girls Troy’s age (early 20s).  Johnson was also notorious at Oklahoma State for chasing coeds. If Irvin is guilty, he may have learned from his former coach and owner.

BTW,  Troy is a good guy, who donates to sports at his old high school without having his name attached.

I wouldn't be surprised if Diggs makes some ultimatums this off-season. New OC or signing a big time WR. Something. There's no way he's going to go along with the same old thing next year

We should sign or draft a big time WR. If we do, he will get a lot of targets & Diggs will throw his sideline tantrums about that.

  5. We went 14-4, even losing Hyde & Miller.  It definitely ended poorly, but this is overreaction.

We do have big contract decisions with Poyer & Edmunds.  We also have crucial draft picks coming up. We can’t afford to miss our first 3 picks like I think we have for much of the last 4 drafts.

  6. Every single QB in the NFL will “regress” when he’s constantly under pressure.   We absolutely need to spend our $ & first round picks getting a better OL. 2nd round picks on WR. Get Von Miller to recruit defensive free agents.

BTW, we don’t need to draft the tallest OLs, we need to draft the meanest, toughest OLs.

  7. We really haven’t done well in the draft the last few years. We have had to rely on free agents to plug too many holes. Drafting late in each round is obviously a factor, but our first & second round picks in the last few drafts are not performing up to their draft slots.

  8. This was a horrible game to watch, especially after we led 17-0. It was 4 hours of stress. It seemed everything was pointing to an upset loss for us: terribly timed timeouts by us, multiple uncalled Miami delay of game, then delay of game called when we stopped them, big pass plays overturned, etc.  We just couldn’t seem to catch a break all game, until that final first down call.    But, a win is all that counts in the playoffs!

  9. Ryan Clark was the best I’ve seen on ESPN in quite a while.  Very impressed with both the Bills & the Bengals tonight.

Our family turned the sound down & we all prayed for Damar Hamlin.  The ONLY good that comes out of times like this is real priorities are easier to see.

My prayer is with Damar & his family. May he walk out of that hospital.

  10. As objectively as possible:

We’re the #1 seed in the AFC, with an 11-3 record against the 3rd toughest schedule in the league (per Sagarin ratings).
We have accomplished this despite critical and untimely injuries, like the loss of Morse during last night’s game.

Have we played great every game…no.  Have we persevered in a talented AFC East Division….yes.  Are all of our preseason goals still alive….yes!

I’m going to enjoy watching a replay of last night’s comeback victory, it was a classic!

  11. Tulsa to Buffalo. It was the September 2011 game that we came back from 21 points down to beat Brady & the Patriots!        I combined a business trip in central Michigan with an ending weekend in Buffalo. My kids were thrilled to miss school for a week until they realized my wife would work them harder on schoolwork at the hotel than their actual school!

At the game, a Patriots fan was sitting behind us, talking how he had an 8 hour drive home to Maine after the game. I told him I had an 18 hour drive home to Oklahoma after the game. We had to have my high school age son home in time to catch a noon travel bus to Oklahoma City for a JV football game.  We literally watched Buffalo’s winning field goal, got in our SUV & drove home to Tulsa, arriving at around 9:00 AM central time!

Take the positives from this game.

The defense looks fast and bailed the offense out numerous times.

Have to like our three young DEs that Beane drafted making plays.

Outside of one TD run they stopped the Jets rushing game.

Also, I like some of the hits the Bills are handing out - Poyer, Hamlin, Milano, Oliver, Lawson.

Defense is the key to winning big games. As frustrating as our offense was today, our defense really played well, especially when it counted.  The d-line wanted to show they’re very good, even without Von Miller. I think they showed they are.

The concern with Diggs is we seem to struggle to scheme him free. Is it because defenses have little respect for the other options on offense, so they can really go hard on him? Somehow scheming him free more would make such a difference to Josh and the offense moving forwards.

I think your point is correct. We need at least one other receiver to step up. Davis did last season, hopefully he will again.  McKenzie just can’t drop so many passes. I keep hoping Shakir will step up.  Almost every time I thought Josh threw a bad pass, the replay would show a good pass that was a drop or the defender outfighting the receiver.  Did we make any contested catches today?

  14. Our offense isn’t built for Buffalo winters.  Our QB maybe, but not our offense. We have an average at best running game (especially when a running play is a probable option) & receivers that are not sure handed.  I’m happy with the win, but we need to figure out a winter weather game plan.  That may include more Shakir & Hines, less passes to McKenzie & maybe even Knox.  We really need a stud RB, but that’s a next year option.
