Like with Knox, I will go on the record and say I still believe.

Gabe can learn from Knox on the hands/concentration front. Improve his routes a bit, and I have high hopes.

Aw come on, don't you know that people with a positive outlook aren't allowed to post here for at least another couple weeks? This time of year is reserved for the negative Nelly's and haters!  I'm patiently waiting until it's our turn again, but Shaw's objective 2022 Wrap-up post from last week gave me a little hope were getting closer.

Why would Hyde leave? Maybe Benford can bulk up and play SS. Safety is pretty interchangeable in this system anyway.

Benford is already 6'0" & 205 lbs, which is bigger than both Hyde & Poyer, so no need to bulk up for the position. I have felt for weeks that this is plan A for Safety next year since he had experience at the position in college and we need to start getting younger there given Hyde & Poyer's age.

Not really.  Players are paid through the league for the playoffs.  Beasley stands to make $319k if the Bills win the SB and he is on the

active roster.  I'm not sure, and can't find anywhere, what PS players get paid during the playoffs.  I think their regular weekly salary.

Just to add to the conversation, the SB winning team players will make about another $20M in total salary.

That does not come out of the salary cap.

Just found this info:  To be eligible for the Superbowl bonus a player must satisfy one of the following:

-Must have been on the 53-man roster for the Super Bowl as well as the previous three games

-Must have played in at least eight games for the team that season without being contracted to another team

-Are injured veteran players with one year of tenure who were put on the injured list during the season

-Are injured four-year veterans who went on the injured list in the preseason

Signing Beasley to the 53 this week satisfies the first criterion.   Perhaps that's the reason.

  4. This move is really puzzling to me. As others have said, Beasley could have been called up for any or all of the playoff games without any roster moves being required, so the McKenzie injury can't be the primary reason for the move.  Beas also stated when he resigned that this was where he really wanted to be and as such he could refuse any offer to go to another team's 53 to stay here.  He would get a pay bump to the vet minimum for the games where he was called up, so the only plausible scenario I can see is that another team tried to sign him to something above the vet min and the Bills decided to do him a solid and match the other offer.  That said, the idea of going to a new team and new system just before a playoff run also seems pretty remote, unless that team happened to be the Giants and the Daboll offense. This move also complicates what might be done to open a slot on the 53 for Crowder if and when he's ready to go, since Murray seemed to be the most obvious cut available. We'll likely never know, but there must be more to this move than we can see.

Rhodes sucked. Which is why I never believed the excuse to deactivating Elam in order to play Rhodes. He was totally washed. Something has gone on with Kaiir behind the scenes. I am all but certain of it.

This post is incredibly disappointing to me. I have long felt that it is absolutely ridiculous for someone that likely wasn't athletic enough to even play highschool football, to openly say that an athlete that was able to make it to the NFL level "sucks", much less a guy that has had a career like this man has. It's okay to be critical and say that he just can't play at the level that is required, but they ALL deserve more respect than to be labeled like this.  If this week hasn't taught us that, I guess nothing ever will.  I had been really hopeful that Damar's situation would shift the perspective for at least a couple weeks, but unfortunately it only took a couple days for the venom to reappear.  We all really need to be better than this!

Stupidity is sad. So is trolling.

    One is involved here.

I fully agree!  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but fortunately I trust that the Pegulas and Brandon Beane are far more rational than the posters that think change is the answer for everything. I have full confidence that the vast majority of Bills fans want McDermott to have a Mike Tomlin type run in Buffalo and I fully suspect he may.  Of course there's some reasons for concern at this point based on some very average performances in the last 5 games, but last year at this time we were 7-4, would lose the 2 of next 3 games to drop to 8-6.  Yet somehow posters claim this was our best chance to win the Superbowl and we're now doomed this year at 8-3.  I suggest everyone calms down and wait to the season is over before making any judgements against this mythical state of perfection that some expect.  However I also know that some folks are just not wired to be able to do this, but just very thankful that I am not one of them.

anyone know when the public sale is?  presale sold out.  General sale id supposed to be at noon but nothing happening still asking for presale code?

if anyone has lower bowl on bills side DM me.  I’ll pay a slight markup even!

If the presale is sold out, I suspect there won't be a public sale.  If you look at the resale map on Ticketmaster, it seems every seat is either unavailable or available for resale at >$70 (upper deck).  I suspect you will see this price drop when we get closer to gametime, but the clowns that bought up the tickets trying to turn a profit don't have a lot invested, so they may just eat the tickets.

Flip mi, I may have 3 tics in lower bowl at 45 on Browns side.  I'll know more later today if my friends are going to go.  I live in MI so could meet you if I cannot transfer them. Lmk if you're interested.

Sure, We were looking for 6, but 3 is better than nothing.

  9. We live just north of Detroit and were excited about going on Sunday, but were unable to get tickets on the BB app when it opened at 5 pm yesterday. I tried all evening and again this morning. It looked like the Ticketmaster site was not functioning properly, but it appears a lot people bought the 6 max quantity with hopes to put them in the resale market at a profit.  Does anyone have more information or had more success than I did.

I gave a pretty reasonable response to your question. Your response shows you didn't deserve it.

I'm sorry you misunderstood the intent of my response. I was just saying that as a 6th round pick, Benford has greatly exceeded all expectations. While I agree it would be a lot for a rookie to take on, he's proven to be up for whatever has been asked of him to this point.  When Tre is back, if he's no longer a starter at CB, I don't see any reason to not give him some cross-training to see how he picks it up.  At 6-1, 205 he is bigger than any Safety on the roster, but only time will tell if the coaches agree.

Unrealistic to expect a rookie to learn a second position in the middle of his rookie season and make any kind of contribution.

It's also unrealistic to expect a 6th round draft pick to come to camp and beat out your 1st round pick and then hold his own as a starter. I never suggested that Benford should be a starting Safety, but we are getting pretty thin there and I don't feel better with Cam Lewis as the next man up!

I assume you mean Outside Boundary CBs so would ask who are the 4?  I have Tre, Dane, Kair and Benford.  if Benford moves to S, who is the 4th Boundary CB?

I was counting Benford in the 4 starting caliber CB's. That's a great luxury to have, but when you are depleted at Safety, it may be better to spread out the talent between the 2 positions. Micah started as a CB before moving to Safety. A couple years ago Micah was considered as a backup CB when that position had a bunch of injuries, so there's no reason Benford wouldn't still be available for both roles.

  13. With Tre about to be back, our depth at CB should be amongst the best in the league. In May, Beane talked about Benford having college experience at CB & Safety.  “We’ve talked about both,” said Bills general manager Brandon Beane, referring to cornerback and safety. “I think we’ll start him out as a corner here and see how he does. He did play a little bit of both. It’s easier to move him back (to Safety).”

With 4 starting caliber CB's on the roster, I had been thinking that moving Benford to Safety in 2023 was likely, especially if Poyer can't be resigned. Now with his injury and Micah already out, this may need to be moved up. I had not heard any reports of him working in the back in pre-season, but wouldn't be surprised if this has been happening a little in the closed portion of practice.

If Tre gets back to form quickly, he and Dane are solid starters with Elam a very capable back up for both. The way we utilize our Safeties is pretty complex, but despite being a rookie, it seems Benford is just too talented to keep off the field.

Hopefully, Poyer's elbow injury is not serious but if it is, I suspect he goes to IR for 4 weeks to open a roster spot for Tre and we start seeing Benford getting some reps at Safety.

    Thoughts?

  14. I think this scenerio is one of the main reasons Hodgins has a very legit chance to make the 53. Shakir would probably be 1st in, but it would be wise to have another viable option available. I'm not sure if that means keeping 7 WR's or Kummerow get released, but I suspect it will weight heavily in Beane's final decisions.

  15. I think Crowder is by far the best bet to be traded. The only way to get out of his fully guaranteed contract is to trade him and there are a bunch of teams that are pretty weak at WR. He's a proven vet that will work through his current struggles and would be valuable to keep. That said, he's clearly not required based on how McKenzie, Shakir & Hodgins have all delivered. It will come down to if Beane has a way to keep 7 WR's without losing another player he really covets (Spector). I think they'll want to keep 3 TE's and the numbers at the other offensive positions are pretty straight forward. That means if they keep 7 WR's, the extra spot will probably need to be taken from the defense. Going with only 5 LB's while Smith is suspended or cutting Shaq and going with 4 DE's are 2 possibilities, but my guess is they would rather stay with 6 WR's with Kumerow or Crowder being the odd man out. Crowder's contract is not huge, which could help the trade possibilities, but they're also not in a position to eat the $3m in cap space by cutting him.

  16. Personally, I have not given up on him, but agree he is probably a long shot to make the 53. After Diggs & Davis, there isn't much size in the next 3-4 guys in line, so he brings something that's missing and could be very valuable. I understand that he has played mostly in the slot, but we don't have much depth outside. So if he can show anything there he has a chance, but staying healthy and finding a way to contribute on ST's will be required.

    Elam replaces Wallace
Cook replaces Breida - Moss looking at sitting on gameday unless Motor not running

Terrell Bernard likely replaces Dodson or Andre Smith

OJ Howard likely replaces Sweeney ?  Sweeney to PS ?

    Punt God replaces Haack

Nobody on current roster replaces Ford as yet...TBD

Shakir likely replaces Stevenson who if makes it thru cuts goes to the PS unless Isaiah get hurt

Rest of draft picks, UDFAs likely cut and placed on PS

I realize we have little on-field evidence to support this, but I think they like Stevenson more than we may think.  Here's my rational:

-He has the deep speed that no one else currently on the roster can provide.

-He was put on IR last year vs. the PS, indicating they did not want to expose him to being poached.

-When healthy, they moved to the 53. This can be explained as a need for a return guy, but it also gave him some valuable game experience.

I'm thinking they'll keep 7 WR's again.  Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Crowder, Shakir, Kumerow (ST) & Stevenson.

  18. Before today I was not that high on him and really afraid he would eat himself out of the league. However, since he's gotten down to 330 and ran like he did today, I'm more open to the idea of him at 25. He's obviously an increible athlete and what he did at Georgia at 360 lbs may not be indicitive of what he can do in the NFL at 325-330. I think it will come down to the interviews and whether the Bills thinks they can keep his weight under control and keep him motivated, so he doesn't turn into another Marcell Dareus. If he makes it to 25, I'll trust Beane to make the right decision, but I'm still leaning towards a CB.

I hope not because it wouldn’t make much sense.

Bass is 28 of 32 this year (with Haack) and 28 of 44 last year (with Bojo). Not much difference.

87.5% vs 63.6% is "not much difference"??   Let's just be happy Haack's bad game came against the Jets and not a game where it really influenced the outcome of the game. Hopefully he learned something that will avoid a recurrance.

  20. I've really appreciated Harry for both his ability and his personality (on and off the field) since we drafted him. Unfortunately, injuries have held him back from playing to his full capabilities far to often. We've seen him start playing at a very high level a couple times, but then suffer a significant injury and have to restart his climb all over.  If the medical staff thinks his past injuries are not really indicative of his future availability, then we clearly need to resign him to a mid-level contract.  I also think he is one of those "glue guys" that McBeane loves and wants to reward. Perhaps a decent incentive based contract is a reasonable solution.

That all said, I'm really happy that he is starting to play at that "high level" again now, as unless Star steps it up, he's the only big presence we have in the middle.
