  1. How else can you explain the fact that this coaching staff and the last staff, at least when it counted, SAID they were going to run the ball, only to rely on the pass as soon as things start getting tough? Yesterday's game is a perfect example. We were never out of the game but we refused to "define ourselves" as the time of possession/wear you down offense we are supposed to be.

    I know our OL is weak, and their are plenty of other problems you could point to. However, our current coaches - EVEN THOUGH I STILL BELIEVE IN THEM - are beginning to make me wonder. They seem to be doing one of two things; they are talking up the run and trying to trick defenses by NOT doing the obvious, or, they are becoming enamored with Drew's swagger and his experience - like GW/KG did last year - and they honestly believe he will snap out of his slump any moment and lead the team to glory.

    If we are going to hope that Drew "snaps out of it", or we plan on relying on goofy-assed hairy high school trick plays, this is going to be one long and painful season. It's time to stop relying on good luck and take a cold hard look at what and who works, and what and who doesn't. If that is done in an honest way, we will begin to put players in the game that will put some damn points on the board; McGahee, Evans, Losman - get yer arses on the field!!!!

  2. Man, that board REALLY makes me appreciate this place. THANK YOU SDS!!! It's no wonder we attract "fans" from other teams!

    Four thoughts;

    1) Gannon, Sapp and Washington are NOT washed up.

    2) Despite, #1 above, our "O" will begin to emerge this week, primarily using Evans to spread the field and we will pound the ball unmercifully.

    3) "JossJeff's" avatar makes me warm inside. <_<

    4) Bills 21, Raidas 13

    Go Bills!!! :P

  3. Barnyard masturbater??? Who would want a job like that?? :D

    The first option, electroejaculation, uses a priapic rectal probe to send electricity pulsing through the animal's nether regions. "All the normal excitatory signals that stimulate ejaculation, like touch, sight, sound and smell, can be replaced with the current from the probe,"

    Coulda saved alot of time back in Jr. High... :D

  4. As heartbreaking as yesterday was, just think back 52 weeks ago and imagine yourself being a patsie fan. Doing so will require two totally unrealistic assumptions;

    1) The patises HAVE fans following a loss, and

    2) Patsie fans have a board.

    Now, would those folks have had anything negative to discuss? Whoa... they had NO defense. Marcia couldn't get out of her own way, and a running game...? <_<;):doh: !! Soooooo, where were they 15 weeks later? You see where I'm going...

    Now with that said, don't get me wrong; I saw plenty yesterday to gnaw my nails and mash my teeth over. And to some extent I agree with Mark IV comments re: a leadership vacuum at present. But the overwhelming optimism that defines me as a true believer and Buffalo Bills fan saw too many positives to overlook from yesterday. DB was making decisions and unloading the ball QUICKLY. When was the last time you saw Drew throw a pass while back-pedaling? The fact that Sam Wyche has gotten to Drew and he is responding is huge. I liked the playcalling. Yes, some of it was predictable, but most of it was not. How many were suprised when the first play was a pass? Although Willis did not gallop 60 yds for a TD, he did move the chains and showed a gliding and patient style that has me pretty torqued about things to come. Yes, the O made some mistakes - by veterans - but minus those few costly errors we played OUR game. Most notably we won the time of possession. Our D owned the field for 58 minutes. Yes, letting down in the final two minutes cost us the game, but let's face it, Leftwich spent most of the game filling his knickers in the pocket. How sweet was that?

    Here in week one, this team is already facing "gut-check" time. I like that. It puts pressure on everyone to step up early, make some adjustments and settle into the season - hopefully with a sense of urgency that will bring some leadership forward. I really, really, REALLY believe in our coach. You can bet he will get to the players in a way that Gregg Williams never could. I think the players will respond. To steal Coach Mike's schtick, as fans, let's be disciplined and tough!! I think things will come around for team in the coming weeks.

  6. OK - so the Bills play live on AFRTS and this is my only shot at seeing regular live Bills games in the UK.

    Anyone know how to get hold of an AFRTS decoder or where AFRTS programming is shown in the UK??

    ta!

    I'd be happy to help.

    If you decode AFRTS, it spells FARTS.

    Let me know if you need anything else.

  7. I was watching the training camp show about the Jaguars on NFL Network and Douglas was straight garbage he was getting pancaked almost evry drill.

    15750[/snapback]

    ...and when he wasn't getting pancaked, he was acting like a class clown Eddie Murphy wannabe. He was actually being disruptive during individual position drills.

    Nice veteran leadership, Jackhole.

  8. Check this stuff out;

    Ceiling Max

    You can avoid losing the height you would with a suspended ceiling, but you maintain the ability to remove panels to access your wiring and plumbing if needed (and you will need to...). It's about the same price, and it goes in real easy - just put up the grids, slide the panels in and use the tees. You can use any panels that you want (2x2, 2x4, etc.).

    Good Luck!

  9. I, like many others I'm sure, was kinda pulling for Haddad to make an impression. It would have been nice to make a "hometown boy makes good" story. With all the potential return talent we had, and the fact that those first in line did well, he didn't have much of a chance here. Did he even return anything this preseason?

  10. He is not a potential long term starter, IMO. Just supposing the Bills were 5-4, and Losman is ready to play again. I would start Losman over him. Matthews is not a big play guy, but a steady guy. Not unlike a skinnier Alex Van Pelt....

    Whoa, what I meant to say was, if the Bills were 5-4, and BLESOE WAS SOMEHOW INJURED, Losman would be a better rest of the season option than Matthews.

    -Sorry- Buftex

    Figured that's what you meant...

    Good post - I agree with you. Drew is very durable, and chances are Matthews will never take a snap. If Drew is someday taken out, and he will be, it will more than likely be based on his play. Although I must admit, this O-line has me worried. If they can't do a better job in pass protection, we could be billsfanone.
