  1. i think it's  significant that the Bears are hosting Xavier Worthy on a 30 visit.  They are not taking him at 9.  And they don't pick again until 75.  You don't bring that guy in if you're not considering him.  They may have something in place with the Bills.  By the way, I am with Joe Marino.  Trading up significantly in the first for a non QB usually does not work.

With all due respect…have you seen Beane in the first round?  We are most likely trading up imo. We have the ammo to do it to get a stud to replace diggs

Off topic, but actuallllly ....  Albert Einstein made amazing scientific accomplshments totally independent of the theory of relativity.  For example, his Nobel Prize was not for the theory of relativity which was still somewhat controversial at the time.  Einstein would not have, in any way, been a cut-rate university professor even if he never thought about relativity.

    OK, back to football.

I figured.  I went for the quick joke.  In all honesty, I think Beane is really good at his job.

Could you imagine this board if we rolled out K.C.'s receiving corp last year.  They actually traded a premium pick for Toney, and busted with 2nd rounder Sky Moore.  That's not to mention picking CEH in the first round, trading away the best receiver in the league, trading their top cornerback, drafting a first round pass rusher last year who could barely get on the field, etc. etc. But none of it matters because they win.   Their roster, in my opinion, doesn't look any better than ours.  But Mahomes and Kelce just find a way.  So Veach will be lauded on here, and Beane dinged....cuz it's all about the rings.

Maybe you're right, but I'd be unhappy if he is the main selection at WR. If he's a second option, that's fine, but it appears unlikely, given the lack of a third round pick. Beane can move around a bit. I expect he will try and get back into the third, but some of those early picks are going to DL and probably S, though I wouldn't rule out OL, or even, given past proclivities, RB.

I hope they don't stick and pick in the 1rst.  I think most of us are hoping for an added 3rd (or very early 4th).  I want them to get their guy.  I trust Beane.  If he can find Gabe in the 4th and Shakir in the 5th, I trust in a stacked class he can get a guy he wants.  If they take Franklin in the first, I'd be fine with it because that means he's at the top of their board.  But I'm guessing they don't have a first round grade on Franklin, and after watching Tez, I don't see much of a difference between the two (I like Tez more).  But it doesn't matter what I like.  I just want a weapon streaking down the middle of the field.

And you know this how? People are brought in for visits that last until the 4th or later all the time. There was as many Day 3 picks visiting as Day 1 or Day 2 just last year: https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2023/04/nfl-draft-2023-buffalo-bills-top-30-visit-zoom-and-private-workout-tracker.html

As for Walker himself, I personally have him as the 15th WR I'd take. Even removing Slot or Tweener role WR's, he's still only my 11th Outside WR. And that's pretty on par for where most analysts have him.

Of course when it comes to the Draft, NFL boards are the only thing that matter. But in my personal opinion, I'd prefer we didn't wait to a point where we're taking Walker as our first option.

It's one thing to say maybe the Bills think of him more highly than myself and most analysts. It's another to declare that they do, based on a Pre-Draft visit.

All good points.  Yes, as Justin Shorter shows, you can bring in 4th round guys for 30 visits.  Tez does not strike me as one of those guys.  If you don't trade add a pick and take him in the 2nd......he'll most assuredly be gone by end of the 4th.  It's pretty clear they want a blazer.  Tez is a blazer.  I can certainly see a scenario where Joe Brady pounds the table and says, "Out of all of them....he's my guy."  Sam Monson has him as WR 9.  And that's after a bad senior bowl.  If you make the argument that you go elsewhere in the first and take the highest wr on your board in the 2nd...I'd be all for that.  But guys with his size and speed don't last. And I doubt he gets past the bills at 60.

If we go another position in Round 1 than WR, I would hope we'd trade up from 60 a bit to get someone who's higher up on my (and most Draft Experts) board than Walker.

He's pretty far down the list for most and I feel like he'd be a little bit of a reach, even at 60.

Non NFL gm draft boards are worth little.  Jack Campbell was the 18th pick last year.  Bills fans are still waiting for him to drop to 60 in the second round.  If you like a guy, you can bet you're not alone.  They aren't bringing in Tez because they think he'd be a nice addition late in the 4th round.  They are interested.

  6. I like Tez....a lot.  He's smooth.  He's fast.  His highlights have the "pop" factor that Troy's don't have.  I was on the Troy Franklin train for a long time because that blazing wideout who can run those deep crosses strikes me as the final piece after the Samuel signing.  But Troy leaves me a bit cold.  Perhaps it's his personality.  Weight? Not sure what it is.  Tez just works for me.  If he went back to college and showed-out, you're talking a top ten pick.  He's got BIG talent.  I'd trade out the first, secure Tez early in the 2nd and breathe easy from there.

Was at SoFi Saturday night. Absolutely gorgeous. The Chargers production was not great. Very few replays on the 360 video screen. PA announcer sucked. Never mentioned a Bills player by name.
I hope the Rams do a much better job.

I agree completely.  The wi-fi was awful also.  The Bills would get a sack, and I'd have no idea who.  But my biggest complaint was how far away from the action I felt.  I was in the top deck, but only the 3rd row.  There were at least 30 rows behind me.  The players looked tiny.  Yes, it's stunning architecturally, but I found myself thinking bout the new place.  I think they'll get it right.

Failed to meet expectations two straight years, and were embarrassed on their home field last season says otherwise

Who's expectations?  Yours?  They didn't fail to meet my expectations, and I promise I'm as big of a fan as you are.  They were 13-3 last year.  Did you expect higher?  They won a playoff game.  After a perfect storm of unfortunate incidents, they ran out of gas.  Happens to the best of us.  As long as they make the playoffs and give themselves a fighting chance, my expectations are met.  My love is not conditional on a Super Bowl....although that's coming regardless of your expectations.

and what he's got is one of the best quarterbacks in the league for the last three years

I hang my hat on being a contender year in and out.  The only way to win the Super Bowl is to consistently go to the playoffs.  They do that.  And I agree with you on Allen.  He is ONE of the best. The best has won it twice recently.  Allen will figure it out.  My NBA comp for him is Giannis.  He was doubted up until he finally won it (in his 8th year).  Joker just won it in his 8th year.  Sensing a pattern?

I don't think there's a comparable yeah but for McDermott. He has wildly underachieved relative to what he's got.

Wildly underachieved with what he's got??  They were 13-3 last year.  Only 1 team gets to win it all.  What's he got anyway?  It's a good roster, but nobody is shaking in their boots.  They could get hot and win it all.  There's about 6 teams who could.  This idea that either you win the super bowl or you are wildly underachieving is silly.  He's won 4 playoff games in the last 3 years in a loaded conference.  They'll eventually win it all.  It's a process. And as lifelong Bulls fan, they lost to the Pistons twice in the playoffs, and finally in Jordan's 7th season, they won it all.

Diggs is the only player I can stomach these days. I'm pissed off just as he is.

This is just silly.  The main issue I have with Digg's is walking out of the locker room as a captain.  This idea that rest of the guys are soft, and only Diggs truly wants to win is insulting.  Every guy on that wants to win, and walking out on your teammates speaks to immaturity more than wanting to win.  If you can't stomach the other guys, I suggest a new team.  I'm so sorry you have to put up with this infuriating group of players who somehow marshmellowed their way to a 13-3 season last year, and are clearly top 5 heading into the season this year.

What on Earth would make you say that?  Is it the strategic free agent signings?  The high level draft picks? Coming off a 3 loss season?  The return of a Hall of Fame pass rusher? Another year with a top 3 quarterback?

I mean, you are using your precious time on Earth on a Bills fan site.  And you took the time to post, so clearly you care about the team.  Just wondering what about this year seems so foreboding that you bring up the EJ years?

That's fine and I agree, just saying Henne came in and led that offense on a 98yard TD drive in the playoffs and I do not see the Bills doing that if Allen goes down

If Allen goes down for the season, we are indeed cooked.  But in a playoff game, for a couple of drives?  Pacheko ripped off a 40 yard run on their penultimate drive.  Is Cook or Harris not capable of that?  Aren't Diggs and gang better than Kadarius Toney and gang.  Henne completed a 4 yard pass to seal the game, and everyone went nuts.  Good for him....seriously.  But is Kyle Allen that bad that he can't put together a good drive and a game sealing 4 yard completion when called upon?

For those curious Kyle Williams didnt make a pro bowl until year 5.  Oliver in his his first 4 years has 6 more sacks twice as many forced fumbles and only 2 less tackles for loss.  Salaries have ballooned Oliver has been solid not elite.  The contract matches and provides Buffalo flexibility.  Buffalo could restructure both Dawkins and White and pay Hopkins 15 mil without using void years.

I appreciate this take, but you conveniently left off the disparity in their total tackles.  It's massive.  I wish Ed was Kyle.  Kyle was special.  I have been defending the Ed signing, but if there is a Kylesque player in the draft next year...please jump on him!!

The team around Maholmes is superior to the one around Allen and Maholmes is Winning SBs, the Bills aren’t getting to them.. what’s that say?

Are you sure about superior?  Have you seen their WR room?  No Mahomes No Superbowl.  It's that simple.

Well, now that we don't have a cakewalk season and not one of the easiest schedules in the league for the first time under McD, this season will certainly be a great case study for evaluating where we actually stand.

If we're 13-3 again, then we can talk more.

Otherwise, convenient that you failed to point out our troubles in getting past the Divisisonal round of the playoffs.

I realize that's of lesser concern than the regular season record, just sayin'.

    ;)

I'm a Chicago guy.  I grew up with Michael Jordan leading the Bulls.  It took him 7 years to win a title.  What you see as failure, I see as process (and not In McD speech).  The Bills are 4-3 in the playoffs over the past 3 years, and got past the divisional round in 1 of those years.  It sounds like you are planning to lose because it fits your narrative that we will ultimately fail.  My narrative is a championship is on the way.  I bet I'm right.

Just checking.. how have they been doing in big games?

With Mahomes....they won the Super Bowl.  But that's not your point.  Your point is who are the Bills without their best player.  And I ask you, who are the Chiefs without Mahomes?
