Romo and Gumbel are the only ones worth their weight. Everyone else might as well be Joe Buck.

Think I’m going to give Tyler the nickname Smallie.
-
But can the guy kick with no shoe?
-
And to think we could have had AJ Green or Julio Jones... wtf

I think a lot of the older Bills fan have been so spoiled with the incredible talent of the past, that the last 20 years have been incredibly boring. When you get to watch amazing players like Bruce, OJ, Kelly, Thurman, etc, your eyes feed off it. Even other teams talent during those times was amazing. Lawrence Taylor, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Marino, Elway, etc you just get spoiled. Honestly the NFL is lacking in high quality stars like the golden days.
But it it does appear to be changing again. People like Barkley and Mahomes give you that same feeling once again.

No doubt Epenesa is a Bull! I just hope he learns a few moves. Every year I miss watching a crazy spin move off the edge. Bruce absolutely spoiled my standards for DEs.

BPA and the phrase you use, BVA are the same thing. Mathematically speaking, if a guy is the best value available, that means he's the BPA, definitionally. I'm not sure I understand how there could be any difference.
And when you said that Beane had said "they had a higher rated player on the board at one point and took someone else," I thought, "Gee, I never heard that, I'd better go back and listen again." And he actually never said that. He said that in four of seven cases they took the highest rated guy. But he also said that in one specific case they had two guys rated equally and took the one because the other was at a position that was already strong so his chances of making the team were lower. That leaves two more, and he never made clear whether the other cases were just cases of having guys equal or not. They may have been. It sure sounded like he was saying that if they in fact weren't equal then they were extremely close.
Certainly I agree that if guys are equal or virtually equal you should make strategic decisions factoring in such things as position strength, position depth and that kind of thing as part of your thought process on who to pick.
I do see some similarities. For me, when I look at Dane Jackson tackling, I see a more violent Antoine Winfield (the pop, I don't know the son well).
I dunno man, Winfield was violent. Dane is pretty mean, but Winfield is a whole another level.

When the highlight reel shows all open field tackles and almost no pass defenses or interceptions, you know that they guy is a special teams prospect all the way.
Not necessarily. Teams didn’t throw his way much. He was a good cover corner. He even played well against Davis and Higgins.

Watch this and tell me you don’t see Dane Jackson out there. Styles are very similar.

This guy was a 1-2nd rounder. Projected 5th this year. Played all of 2019. With injury background and COVID, made it hard for him to be checked out. Thought to go in 2019 draft and Mocks in 2018 had him as a Bills selection in the 5th so Bills have been watching this man for 3 years. They know him well and probably said to him this would happen later pick or this way.
This might be the steal of the UDFAs. I’d let him train and heal the whole year. I wouldn’t stash him on PS.

Epenesa is completely the opposite of Schobel except for motor. Scholbel was quick and light in the ass. Epenesa is big, thick and stronk like bull. Reminds me personally more of Ben Williams who did have a 10 sack campaign just after the league started counting such things.
Epenesa is a bull for sure. I’m a little worried though that only gets you so far in the NFL. Ultimately you need some speed to beat pro lineman. Bruce was a rare combination of bull and speed. A freak of nature! I miss him the most.

Sounds like a prime practice squad candidate.
Yep. His frame and abilities are there just needs refining. If he doesn’t improve his footwork, he wont make it against elite DEs.

Seems like he needs a year or two in an NFL conditioning program.
Which we can afford to do. If we work on his conditioning and footwork, he has potential.

Maybe he has a high motor to lift those heavy feet. Does he have slow eyes?
High motor don’t matter if he can slide those heavy feet. He was destroyed by Chase Young. I like Trey, but he has to improve footwork.

Nice player to end up on PS give him a year in the facility and training staff
The nice thing about this signing is there is absolutely no risk. If he flops oh well. Talent is there just needs to work on footwork and conditioning.

The one thing I will say about Trey is though he has heavy feet. He better work on his footwork if he wants to make this team.

That was hilariously bad. But hilarious first.
Wanted a larger member
Who cares, at least he isn’t giving “perfect robotic statements” like a lot of these guys do. Shows he isn’t afraid to be himself.

Very good signing. The talent is there. Probably the best UDFA talent wise out there IMO.

Thank you
CBs in general are so undervalued. Good CBs dramatically change the defense and allow the DL that much more time to do their thing. Give me a 3 very good CBs over a RB any day of the week.

Most people do have more awareness than a traffic cone. So its a good bet.I just wish Dane was a little faster. Though if he was, we wouldn’t have gotten him in the 7th. The one thing he struggles with are quick slants.

The was like the number 1 thing I hated about McKelvin, the dude would just be oblivious to other parts of the field at times.

I just hope he's smarter and has better situational awareness than McKelvin.
He has shown pretty good football IQ on a lot of the clips I’ve seen, peeling off his man on anticipation. A lot of times McKelvin would follow his man down the field even if the play went elsewhere.

Ball skills like McKelvin? Not exactly a ringing endorsement....
It’s not, but that’s who Dane reminds me of. Especially his coverage and tackling style. He’s aggressive and is probably going to get PI just like him.
2 minutes ago, Happy Gilmore said:Dane Jackson is also 5'11 180lbs. I don't doubt his college record, but am skeptical he can repeat this in the pros; I say that just because the talent jump from college to professional. At the least, he will need to add some muscle mass.
5’11 180lbs, just like McKelvin. Just slower lol

I see shades of McKelvin when I watch Dane.
