I was anti mcdermott but have changed my tune.  He grew a lot as a coach the last 2 months.  We fought our asses off tonight.

Good lord he’s been a head coach for 7 effing years. The majority of an entire DECADE. The “he’s still growing/improving as a coach” excuse has been long expired.

I’m not afraid of this Ravens team.  That said it could be the rust.

I’m scared of their defense forcing Josh into turnovers, but Lamar and this offense are very unimpressive.

You want to get the ball to your playmakers first. Shakir is doing fine in his role

Shakir is easily the best playmaker on this team. Nobody has made big plays on consistent basis more than him.

    Edit: no response, typical

  4. Bobby Babich is definitely one of the unsung heroes for this team. First he was the safeties coach during the peak Hyde/Poyer years. Then he became the LB coach last year and immediately Edmunds and Milano both had the best years of their career. Now this year Bernard is having a breakout year, Dodson is a beast against the run all of a sudden, and our 7th round pick from last year is playing at a high level in a must win game. Absolutely floored he isn’t a DC in this league yet.

  5. I was really worried he hit the rookie wall after his slump vs chiefs, cowboys, and chargers. Then he shut me up with his best back to back games of the season. I‘ve never felt more confident about a player becoming a star in the McBeane era than I do about Kincaid.

  6. The Bills have lost 1 game by more than 1 score over the last 3 years and 0 games over the last 2 calendar years. If you wanna question coaching and execution late in close games then I’m all ears, but to suggest this team lacks consistent energy or motivation could not be further from the truth. They show up ready to play as often as any other team in the NFL.

  7. Prominent members of both parties have been implicated in a massive child sex trafficking ring and you all are STILL pointing fingers across the aisle and somehow making this a political issue instead of a moral one. Getting more angry at each other online than you are at the actual people responsible like good little useful idiots. If a Bills player or executive was on the list would y’all be making excuses for them too??? F#cking brain rotted morons.

lol. You missed the context. Those 3 teams that won the rematches were resting their starters in the final regular season game (often division winners), or had their QB injured in the playoffs

So let’s look at those 3 teams who lost in Week 17 and then won the Wild Card round..

The 2004 Colts had the division wrapped up  and rested their starters (for example, Jim Sorgi played instead of Peyton Manning in Week 17). Therefore, the Colts backups lost to the Broncos in the final week of the season before beating the Broncos with their starters the following week.  Context: They weren’t trying to win Week 17.

The 2009 Cardinals rested their starters in Week 17 against the Packers. The Cardinals backups lost to the Packers in the final week and then beat them in the Wild Card the following week with their starters. Context: They weren’t trying to win Week 17.

The 2012 Vikings beat the Packers with their starters in the final week of the season, and then lost to the Packers the following week in the wild card. Sounds great, until you realize that the Vikings starting QB was hurt late in that final week game, so backup Joe Webb had to start, which is why the Vikings lost the rematch. Webb scored only 10 points, whereas the starter (the previous week) scored 37. Context: They we’re without their starting QB.

So, that 3-2 record of teams losing in the final week and winning in the wild card, when you look at the context, goes up in complete smoke.

    Sorry.

    Not reading that essay

If we can’t beat Miami in Week 18, what makes you think we can beat them the literal following week?

We either have the horses or we don’t.

There have been 5 times in the last 20 years where teams played each other back to back in the final regular season game and in the wildcard round. The teams that lost in the final regular season game went on to win in the wildcard round 3 out of 5 times. Sorry.

    Wrong.

    No.

You may have seen it used by fans of teams in that situation. But it is NOT what it means.

    - A team with nothing to lose

    - 12 point underdogs (feel disrespected)

    - Just had 8 days off and are playing at home (while we had to fly across the country with only 5 days off)

    - Get the Interim head coach bump

    - Fired up players that want to impress for next years coaching staff

All of that is a dangerous combo.

    INCORRECT!

    Let me try:

    - A team whose HC has never even been a coordinator

    - A team with a backup QB

    - A team missing their top 2 WRs

    - A team with of one the worst defenses in the NFL

    - A team with nearly 0% chance of making the playoffs (nothing to gain)

Lmao quite possibly the least dangerous combo in the league

You don’t seem to understand what that phrase means, if you think only teams that have won a SB can say it.

I know exactly what it means. It’s a phrase used by bitter fans of teams who have recently won a SB or have won several in the past right after losing a game.

Here’s a question for you. Do you honestly believe that this was a huge important game to the Chargers?? A game right after they accepted this season a failure by firing their HC?? Be honest.

if we had kept Teller and Van Roten and evaluated LB's properly in the draft we might not have needed to use resources on the line we have now. just sayin.

Yeah I’m sure you were all aboard the “resign our back up center and make him a starting guard” train last year. Gimme a break captain hindsight.
