One thing that always irked me is that Pegula hasn't upgraded the field conditions since buying the team 10 years ago. It isn't just that we have turf, it is also that the turf at the Ralph forking sucks. It was installed in 2011 and was the 29th ranked field in the league in 2015. Absolutely brutal.

We have Josh Allen, who has said "I prefer grass". McDermott has said the same thing. And in the 6-7 years they have been here Pegula hasn't made any attempt to upgrade it to grass or even a better synthetic surface.

And on the flip side we have the Patriots. Brady said "I prefer grass" and Bob Kraft replaced it during the bye week.

That's really awful. It bums me out so bad that the new stadium won't be ready until 2026.

The Bills still use those spinning brooms to clear the field in the snow. They were on the field in some of the pictures during clean up. They toss the rubber everywhere, and it needs to be regraded. My tinfoil hat says that even though the game was delayed the storm ultimately knocked out Bernard, Benford, and Spector due to field conditions.

Ugh I hate that this is even a possibility.

We should've let the governor postpone the game until Tuesday. Then we might've gotten one or two guys back. (Kidding, sort of)

Yeah by "almost" I mean it wasn't the greatest divisional game ever to match the highest viewership.   13 seconds is still the best divisional round NFL playoff game ever, IMO.   This one will just go down amongst the good ones.

As I mentioned in another thread,  I hope the Chiefs lose this week because it will add gravity to the toll of this matchup if the Chiefs continue to lose the week after beating the Bills.

A lot of people say that 13 seconds is the best game ever, period. I'm inclined to believe them even though the outcome was devastating. Watching that game didn't even seem real.

Anyways, 56+ million for a divisional game is absolutely nuts. So now it's in the league's best interest they tell the referees to give us favorable calls to get us back to at least that point.

Kinda strange with the talk of Andy Reid and Kelce retiring when their season ends. That would mean KC possibly takes a step back.  and the Bills never get their playoff revenge against this version of the Chiefs.  Not that it’s a bad thing, just an observation.

Would be thrilled with even just one of the two hanging it up. It goes without saying we win this game if it’s anyone other than Kelce in the TE role.

  5. I wonder how many of us actually "made" the decision to become a Bills fan. I can't really imagine having the same kind of affection and connection for a team if I hadn't been born into being a fan and hadn't grown up surrounded by friends and family who were fans as well. At the end of the day yeah it's just a game, but the human and cultural connection that I personally have with it is much more important than simply making an arbitrary decision to root for some other, likely successful team.

And it sounds kind of lame, but with Buffalo sports and all the insane scenarios they've dealt with over the years, I feel like there have been a lot of teachable moments for younger people, and a lot of wisdom to take away from how adversity is dealt with.

I mean, just this year, we had Coach McDermott teach us all about the power of a group of underdogs working together against seemingly insurmountable odds to make their lifelong hopes and dreams come true.

I know it won't happen, but I can't stop thinking about how amazing it would be to get the Twitter notification that Terry Pegula has made the difficult decision to relieve Sean McDermott of his duties. That is the one thing that would give me real hope for the future.

As of right now I have no hope for next year. I'll watch and enjoy Josh Allen play football like I always do but I already know deep down nothing will come of it under this regime.

It hurts, honestly. It's a very defeating feeling to feel like regardless of how impressive Josh and the rest of the team can be and how high our hopes are going to get, it's just not going to be enough. Maybe I'm not absolutely, entirely hopeless, but it really sucks feeling like the coaching all around is more of a detriment than an asset. That shouldn't be the case, ever.

I think this season really showed us how important that #1 seed really is. Mostly because of the Bye week.

Just think, we beat the Jets, Pats, and Broncos like we should have and we are in that #1 spot. And instead of Bernard, Benford, Spector, Rapp etc all getting injured against the Steelers, all our guys are home and resting and we actually get Davis back with the extra rest as well.

Look at the road the Ravens have to go: 1 easy home playoff game against a low-ranked opponent. Then the Conf Champ at home, and you're there.

    It's such a disgusting advantage.

Defense got the stops we needed to win the game.

Offense couldn't execute when it counted in the last two minutes.  The plays were there to be made, and the players didn't make them.

I was stressed on the final drive, as were we all, but the strategy was sound.  It almost worked.  It SHOULD have worked.  Take Diggs underneath on 2nd and 9, choke KC to death with no time left on the clock for the reprisal TD.  It was his best option, and I wish Allen had taken it.  If you take the 30-yard shot there, it needs to be perfect.  He just needed to get the ball in the neighborhood of Diggs, and that's a first down with the clock still running.

Brady understood this.  Manning understood this.  The old guard has commented on the current crop of QBs looking for the big highlight plays and not taking what's there for them to take.  It continues to hold true.

I don't blame the loss on Allen.  He played a hell of a game.  There were plenty of things that could have gone differently to make the last few minutes of the game play out differently.  That was his moment to keep slowly driving the dagger in, though, and he went for the quick strike that would leave Patrick Mahomes 1:55 on the clock with 2 TOs and 4-down territory the whole way down the field.  Brady or Manning take Diggs on the crosser, there.  I wish Allen could do the same.

Not sure I would day the defense got the stops needed to win the game.

    It was pretty bad

Like someone doing something totally out of character just to be cool- and it all blowing up in their face

It felt like some Hallmark movie thing. Just completely nonsensical. Hard to imagine what a bonehead play like that does for morale and confidence.

that fake punt is not excusable and you'll never convince me otherwise. i wouldn't expect damar hamlin to get me those yards with 8 or 9 men on the field. that is not a playmaker you are giving the ball to. five yards is A LOT!

It was god awful. Maybe the most shocking play of the entire season. Just a completely brain dead wishful thinking sort of situation.
