  1. This is actually a reasonable point about perceived upside/ceiling vs. floor. JA's upside is based very little on production. Bark was a Tier-1 recruit, played well at a great school, and has been a reasonably competent NFL QB by all accounts. Is JA's ceiling high because he was a highly-touted recruit? Did he tear up low-level college FB like say Carson Wentz? Did he have insane numbers against lower level comp? Did he put all the doubters to bed by showing something different in his rookie NFL starts? No he was incredibly inaccurate and incredibly athletic, which is what the knock has always been. What is crazy about questioning terrible decisions that demonstrate all his weaknesses in the most important preseason game?
  2. You saying 'Are you serious?' about a QB controversy with two young QBs is telling about the JA hype train leaving the rails of reality. He was stat-wise one of the worst starting QB 1s in recent history and 5 of the best 6 or 7 QB1s in the league are 35+. Why is it crazy to think Barkley may be a similar force?
  3. What? GOAT upside? What on Earth leads you to believe that?
  4. Don't get this crowd going. JA's job is just a tad safer than a supreme court justice.
  5. Does Baker's play last real-season mean anything? His Heisman at a legit CFB program and carryover into the league? I'm not saying JA can't be better, but give me a break on this logic.
  6. I wouldn't say start Barkley. The Stockholm syndrome that makes any player that pretends to like the city is a little much though. I don't think pointing out plays that exemplify the issues that a player had in low-level D1 ball and has carried into the league is tantamount to some sort of treason.
  7. Not trying to be a troll. To me the BS roughing was the perfect example of a lack of progress. That decision would be ripped in a JV HS game. Which is sometimes the style that JA plays in. Impressive at time? Sure. Sustainable in the NFL? No shot.
  8. It's so crazy when a player that falls back on athleticism and a big arm and completes less than 60% in college does the same thing in the NFL. Nuts!
  9. I want Josh Allen to be as good as anyone else, but let's be honest... Accuracy and decision making still seem incredibly shaky for a kid that appears relatively intelligent and carries himself well. We all buy in because he literally looks like he is from western NY and embraces the blue-collar culture yadayadayada. That BS roughing and should-have-been pick was especially expected as it unfolded. This is still the 56% passer in low-level D1. Uggh.
