  1. ECC lot doesn't open until 9 like the Bills lots.

Did that change this year? I am going to my first game this year and I could swear I got to ECC well before 8:30 last year and it was open? Also, there are several entrances, but I usually parked at the one by the ECC stadium, off Big Tree Rd, this lot also does not open till 9?

  2. I'm going to the game with my wife. Anyone know how much parking is so that I can tailgate next to the stadium? I don't wanna walk 15 mind or take a bus. Does their lots open at 9am too?

    Thanks...

As of last year, the cash lots were NOT walking distance and you can NOT tailgate. You have to wait for a shuttle to take you to the Meadowlands. The whole tailgating experience there has been shot to hell since putting up the new stadium and the attempt to put up that disaster mall/amusement complex.

  3. I am looking for some input on parking a camper at the RV lot for the Jets game next fall. Although I used to stumble through it when it was next to the stadium, I am unsure how obtaining a spot has changed. I notice in the RWS stadium guide that spots are open until filled - no reservations. Does it usually sell out? A friend of mine is considering taking his camper up on Sat. for the game but doesn't want to go and get stiffed on a spot. Thanks

I have done the RV thing twice in the past three years - the first time we showed up fairly early on Saturday morning and the lot was about 1/2 full. Two years ago we showed up around 6pm Saturday night and it was sold out; we eventually parked in adjacent ECC lot by the ECC football stadium and it worked out quite well. Cars and RV's parked in this lot

Hope that helps - my advice it getting it over as early as you can on Saturday AM if possible.

  4. i really hate the thought that we are in our 10th year of "rebuilding" but if indeed we are is the consensus that we are starting to get closer to having a quality NFL o-line? Despite what anyone thought of the plethora of QBs that have come in to One Bills Drive since Kelly left, is the one thing that that we all could agree on is that the line has been a constant work in progress and in turn, that stunted the growth/play of just about every QB we have had??

I don't pretend to be a football jedi, but i am interested to hear if there is optimism about this group...i could truly handle rebuilding again...if in fact, the pieces were starting to be put in place and i do believe, whomever is our long-term solution at QB, that it all starts up front with a line that can protect and block...

  5. man, i stopped writing on here a long time ago because of stupidity like this, but holy F'ing sh--....eventually, maybe we will find out that Trent is not meant for NFL football, but F'ing A, to come to this conclusion after a fuggin pre-season game....Get a grip. This is so sad. The Giants looked absolutely pathetic last night and Eli's numbers were disgusting, but mood out here is a tad different than what I read in here about the Bills QB situation. I don't even know why I even come in here anymore b/c reading posts like this make me realize how dumb fans can be these days..

  6. for the sake of trying to play Devil's Advocate and unless Ralph had an epiphany, the Bills were not going to go out and hire Cowher or a Cowher-type. That said, was it best for this franchise then to try and make the most of a coach that apparently the players are all behind and build on that "continuity" or was it better to out and get a re-tread or another Gregg Williams type?

I'm not sure I even have an answer to that, but I'm curious to what you guys think....

  8. I'd like to punch Fireman Ed in the face, mid-chant.

I've only been to one Bills-Jests game at the Meadowlands, but Ed was sitting on the opposite side of the field

i sat in the same row as this lunatic a few years back and he is like the raving, out-of-control lunatic father of a pee-wee football team....he paces sometimes during the game and 'yells in motivational' things at the jet players as though they were his own children. plus, it really irks me, but the last i knew he was not realy a fireman and rather a beat cop who once ticketed a bunch of fireman for illegal parking by their firehouse...

  9. wow, i love the enthusiam, i love the start to this game but:

    we have found our QB

This team believes in each other

Best Offensive Coord in the league..

it was one off and one def drive boys....i believe all of those things are true, but not b/c of 8 minutes in to our 2nd game of the year..

i think the 30 minute drive to the city was worth it b/c i can't imagine what will happen if we make a mistake...

  10. During the Olbermann & Patrick segment on Football Night in America, they showed Brady going down and then cut to hundreds of fans walking down the ramps to leave the stadium. A little creative editing, but amusing none the less...

Seriously - Keith Olbermann still gets to talk sports after making an ass of himself nightly with his childish rants against Bush, O'Reilly, etc on that joke of a network, MSNBC?

  11. The Jets aren't going to the Super Bowl, and the Dolphins aren't going to the playoffs, but they will both undoubtedly improve. Favre is clearly a huge upgrade for a team that made the playoffs two years ago (and three of the previous five before that), and Pennington -- whatever his flaws -- is a huge upgrade for the Dolphins (as is the addition of Parcells, obviously). The Bills are now looking at 2-2 against the Jets and Phins (and recall that the Bills struggled badly against them last year in Miami) plus 0-2 against the Pats. (Before all of this, I was hoping for 3-1 against the Jets and Phins.) That puts them at 2-4 in the division, which means they have to go 8-2 against the rest of the league to make the playoffs. It's not impossible given that they're playing a bad NFC West and a relatively down AFC West (although a game in Denver is probably going to be a loss, as is the game at home against SD), but it'll be tough. For the playoffs, those victories over NFC teams will matter less, of course.

i was barely worried about Nad Penninton with the Jets...with the dolphins i just feel bad for him. Who is he going to throw to? He has nobody like Coles and Cotchery to throw to in Miami..

  12. I'm speechless. This is the first time I've been choked up about a news anchor/figure. And not just because he was a huge Bills fan and I'm a hopeless homer for anyone in the public eye who is on 'our side'.

He was the single best, smartest, and unbiased, no-BS anchor of our time. And he'll probably be replaced with a vacuous Connie Chung-type.

    Dammit

This is probably the first time I ever read all the way through a thread this long, and this is the one post I kept coming back to; waiting to see if there is someone else that felt as devasted as I do. People come, people go, but unless it is someone in your immediate family, I can not recall ever getting this upset about a celebrity, athlete, whomever that passed away.

This time is so different - for all the reasons on this thread. I still keep shaking my head in disbelief every time a story comes on the news or I read another article online about the passing of Tim..

  13. There didn't seem to be much info on the Bills site.

Anyone have an idea of 1) when the RV lot opens on game weekends and 2) do you have to leave that night after the game?

Feel free to add any other good stories from the rv lot - seriously considering it this year for my home opener visit from NJ.

  14. Sorry, Lori.....your "show up then" thingy doesnt wash with me. I dont live in the area, but I can tell you that I DO attend at least 30 games a year for my favorite baseball team that I do live close enough to go to regularly. I sat in a sh-------, empty Shea for five years waiting for them to get good again, twice a week, April through September. I put my money where my mouth is.

All I know is almost 20K tixx left for a hot Bills team thats got a good record? Thats not something Bills Nation should be proud of. I dont care if its a holiday. Baseball games are played on Holidays several times a Summer. Fottball games on Thankgiving? Hello? Basketball on Christmas is virtually an institution in America. All these games sell out or draw very, very well. But for us its "Im busy"? "We" are special?  Dont buy it. I understand lack of a big advance for the game, but its a bad job by Bills fans if they cant get at least 65K in that place by Sunday.

Perhaps it is a big picture type of thing, since the Bills do well overall with attendance. I dunno. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the league draws next week.

i'm not happy to see the stadium short 20K but your argument does not wash with me. Baseball is played on holidays, but 4th of July and Memorial Day are not as celebrated as Christmas. Thanksgiving football is played in the same two stadiums every year and once again, it is not a religous holiday. As for basketball, it only seats 20,000 and the games are usually on Christmas night - after everyone has gotten together, mocked cousin eddy, and pissed and moaned about their slipper socks. I am coming back to Buffalo for the holiday and I never miss a chance to attend a game, but since time is short, and family is a slight notch above the Bills I unfortunately have to miss it although it will kill me...

i love the idea colin, but a lot of competition! people love their dunkin donuts out here - maybe we would have been luck with a anchor bar franchise!

  16. Its a canadian coffe place, like a dunkin donuts. No fancy coffees, just plain coffee, donuts, soup, sandwiches, bagels, muffins, etc. Its what we Canadians live off of, it is our secret fuel.

i always thought the secret fuel was Molson XXX
