Couple misses like Ford to be sure.  But look at a guy like Epenesa.  Took a bit but has come into his own.  Or Oliver who is having a great year.

Epenesa was brutal for 3 seasons. 0 contributions. He’s a miss. Sorry.

boogie basham is a miss, ford colossal miss.

    Elam is a disaster.

james cook in round 2? all the other assets invested in RB in rounds 3?

he’s neglecting significant areas of roster for the same

    mistakes.

Right. And now look at them. In cap hell so they likely won’t be able to re-sign AJ despite him playing well this year and finally getting it. Boogie was the biggest waste of a draft pick ever.

Or resign Floyd. DE and DT are a need going forward.

It’s because it is what Mcdoushy absolutely needed for his defense to win a championship. A “guru” HC and defensive “genius” yet he can’t get it done with all the assets that he’s been given on that side of the ball while completely ignoring the offensive side of the ball for years.

Giving that deal the year after drafting GR50 and Boogie back to back while AJ was floundering just felt like they had no plan or hope those guys would get it.

Norwood was kicker of year at age 28 (1988) by 1990 he was washed. Bass is 26, but seems to have lost his leg. The ball doesn’t pop off it no more.

I agree. He’s hitting it lower and it’s moving left to right. When he is in a groove it was high and fading it in.

not sure how to get his confidence back

Because he tore his ACL.  Was playing great last year before that.

I get it. But it’s fair to question the recklessness of the deal just to get him given his age. Beane blew every other team away with the money and that’s why he came here. We are paying for it now.

I don’t want him on the field in the 4th quarter while he is pretending to be an NFL player.   Shame on McDummy for giving him ANY snaps, let alone snaps with a game in the balance.

Was this game ever in the balance?

In what sense? How is anyone having an impact on one of the worst defenses in the NFL? He has 3.5 sacks this year.

Do you watch football or are you just picking names and saying they're better for the sake of it?

I do watch games. All of them. Have you been watching? Have you noticed Greg Rousseau the past month? He had two sacks against Miami and nothing for five weeks after. Same disappearing act as last year.

Phillips 3.5 sacks is .5 more than Rousseau while missing 3 games to Rousseau's one. He also has a sack in each of the last three weeks.

Do you want me to keep going?

Do you watch games or are you just looking at total season stats?

  7. He's another example of Beane not hitting on his first or second round picks.

That same year Miami took Jaelen Phillips. His impact is much greater.

I dont know the issue overall but there are too many DEs on this roster making a lot of money to not impact the QB more. Last night was a perfect example. The fact we are having to blitz as often as we are says alot about where this group is at.

  8. This punt gave me flashbacks to Shawn Powell on Thursday Night Football against the Browns back when EJ was QB and was hurt during the game. Line drive 40 yard in air punt right down the middle of the field. Needed something to flip the field and he we get that. Hilarious to watch core special team players whiff or not even come close to the guy.

    Whats Matt Araiza doing?

Defense Coordinator Lou Anarumo will change up his defenses. He will make wht he feels are the right adjustments. He's probably one of the best in game adjusters in the game. The real question is their defense talented enough to cobtain the Bills O.

This game is a very tough test for the Bills defense. The Bengals have a lot of weapons. The Bills secondary simply cannot match up with their pass catchers. We saw that already. Elam will likely aget tourched by Chase and Higgins. Be careful what you ask for. The key will be the Bills front vs the weakened injuried Bengals Oline. The Bills need to pressure, disrupt, and confuse Burrow. No easy task. If they don't Burrow will shred the Bills secondary. You can bet on that.

To me what this game comes down to is what defensive lineman want to step up and consistently win one on one matchups against replacement level offensive linemen. They are down three starters. The drop off to those guys looks significant in a few cases especially. I do not want have to get so reliant on Milano and Edmunds blitzing to get pressure and let Chase and Higgins have their shots 1 on 1 downfield.

There is a lot of money and draft capital invested in this DL even without Von. I see teams with much less impact games more consistently than this current group. Time to have their best game of the season.

thanks for the reply. well, I just don't see the need for a neutral site. as bad as that may sound, I would rather see them beat kc, in kc. my question is why did they choose to have a neutral site for bills/kc and not bills/bengals. kind of confusing the hell out of me.

Because the bills and bengals played the same number of games and we had a better record. Not the case with KC

We need to rush with four and get to Joe.   There are lots of moving parts to a gameplan but none of it will work unless we get hurries and pressures w four because Joe and his 3 WR's will kill us on most blitzes.  Thankfully the Cinci Oline is beat up and not great because our pass rush isn't either.

I don’t see how this happens. This defensive line for all the investment put into it is bad. Majority of snaps they are getting neutralized and stood up across the board. We get desperate and bring pressure but I do not see the push and disruption from this group that I do other teams with half the resources we have into this.

  12. I felt the same way. Officials inserted themself into the game when it got close and it was slanted to favor the cardinals.
The Knox penalty was ridiculous. The defender is lunging to the ground as Knox goes to block him. Gets up and whines to the official and gets the flag.

The singletary penalty interpreted as after

the play was ridiculous. It was a block attempt when he felt his QB was running. The winters hold was more bull####. That’s how every offensive lineman blocks on every play.

Hail Mary still stings but we are always having to overcome some degree of officiating.

  13. Would like to see three personnel changes by next week.

Get Zay Jones off the team. He sucks. Doesn’t separate, terrible body control and had never made a play that any other receiver in the league wouldn’t have made. Duke needs to be on this roster to high point balls and body small CBs out. If that means you cut Zay than just do it.

Get a new punter. Bono is the Worst punter in the league. The snap was horrible on the block but could he have taken anymore time. Plus the 21 yard punt was a nice touch near the end of the game. Time to move on there.

Make Ty Nsecke your FT right tackle and start transitioning Cody Ford to guard. Too much pressure off the right when he’s in the game. Both of our tackles may be better suited long term for guard based on what I am seeing.
