This is not true. When he's a ball carrier those protections disappear and you can bust him up all you like.

But they don't because he can slide at any time and most QBs will - again, highly likely to result in 15 yd penalty if you bust him up.

The problem is Josh doesn't get his arse down and go feet first.  All his fumbles tend to be with him leaning forward after contact and trying to get extra yards like a RB.   Lamar Jackson doesn't do this and its why he doesn't fumble when he runs the football.   He gets down or out of bounds.

  2. Agree, but in today's NFL a running QB is more dangerous than ever because of all the rule changes to protect them.  Defensive players are afraid to hit QBs "incorrectly" even when the Qb's are rushing for yardage.  This is why Josh can easily make so many guys whiff.   Can't hit him low, or high, or on the head, or late.   There's value in his running ability, but they need to be much smarter in the play calls (up 21-0 and cruising to a win isn't the time).  And Josh has got to protect the ball.   Absolute must.   Many don't seem to be worried, but this a worrying trend that's not getting better.

  3. Called today.  Told them I can't afford $50 a month for 6 months for the ticket.   Told them I need to get the cost significantly lower or would have to cancel the ticket.   I already have $50 off a month loyalty discount for 12 months from back in the spring.   He immediately said I qualify for Sunday Ticket MAX for free.  I've never had it for 100% free before.

Took about 10 min on the phone.

Looking for an OLB edge who has it all and young enough to catch on his peak years. Too much to ask ?

not including current Bills, Conklin and Hooper or Henry.

as well you should be. be a mighty  fine Get for Bills

I think Van Noy would not only be a Lorax upgrade on the field, but he brings patriots winning leadership mindset to the locker room.

Gotta think McBeane will explore signing him.   Makes too much sense.

  5. I expect DE and WR to have the most talent overhaul this offseason.  Both will be addressed in FA and draft.    Shaq is gone.

Why spend $8-$10M on 5 sacks, when you can spend $12-$14M and get 10+ ?    Bills can afford the extra 4M a year to get what they need.

  6. BBQ is also great here - highly recommend:

    1) The Pit Room (near downtown and not far from stadium).   The Brisket tacos are unreal.

    2) Pinkerton's - Its in the northeast part of the Heights.   Excellent brisket as well.

Tex Mex Recommendation: Lupe Tortilla Beef Fajitas

Here is also Top 100 List from area Food Critic - easy to sort by type and neighborhood too: https://projects.houstonchronicle.com/top100/#/

Pluckers is very hit or miss but when they're on point they are quite good.  For an authentic buffalo wing, that's the place to go.  Wait times are often in excess of an hour and during peak times, quality suffers.

On the less conventional side, Hay Merchant smokes their wings (and half the time fries them afterward) which are also great when they're executing (PB&J are my fave there).  Its also a great beer bar with excellent food since its owned by a big time chef.  Dak n Bop (located in the Museum District) serves battered Korean style wings.  Sriracha lime and Buffalo hot are very good.  Fuego's on Washington Ave breads their wings but they are consistently well cooked and crunchy (I loathe rubbery skin).

Houston is a top notch food city but wings is not something we're known for.  I would strongly encourage you to avoid wings on this trip and opt for something we do well.

Agree - I'm a Houstonian as well.  Stick w/ Tex Mex, Steaks, and Seafood.   Wings is for when you are in Buffalo.    When in Rome....

Any recommendations for a good steakhouse / seafood place to hit for dinner Friday? Looking for something local not chain type.

I live in Houston - specifically the Houston Heights, which is an old historic neighborhood just northwest of downtown (5-10 min from downtown).  Lots of popular restaurants in and around the neighborhood.

For steak - Try B&B Butchers or Ritual.   Both are great and you will need a reservation.  B&B is a bit higher end.
