These guys are wide open. Mullen’s can go thank his offensive coordinator for making him look real good.

I’m watching this game and thinking, it’s just not fair. This offense looks stellar compared to our. With back up RBs and a third string udfa QB.
I told my wife before the game “this will tell you how bad Daboll is, if Nick Mullen’s a completely average UDFA can put up numbers”. She just looked at me and said “I guess we have our answer on Daboll.”

I think even Peterman could have made that throw.
-
So, do the 49ers have a defense in the field?
-
I would consider it a win if he goes out and throws for 100+ yards 1td and 0 INTs
-
If it is called on defense it should be called on offense. However, two factors in play here. 1) it is the Patriots, you are never getting a call against them 2) the lowering the head to initiate contact penalty has pretty much disappeared in the regular season.

I am ok giving McDermott another year. My issue lies with Daboll. For once I want the Bills to go after someone who can innovate. Pluck some no name offensive coordinator from college who is young and might be innovative. Give it a shot. Daboll has a track record of being terrible, he is not the guy we should have brought in.

Yeah, just ask the Browns!
I would take the Browns roster 10/10 times over the current Bills roster. The Browns problem was they kept kicking the QB can down the road. They finally learned. Without that train wreck Hue Jackson at the helm this year the Browns would have improved remarkably. Next year they should take a large step forward. Tanking absolutely works in the NFL if you draft the correct players. The Browns should have had Carson Wentz years ago. They are actually exhibit A as to why you stay and pick the elite talent and do not trade down.

This is who I have wanted since it became apparent we needed to sign a QB. Oh well, if you are going to tank do it properly. With our set of QB’s the tank is in full effect. Better to be 2-14 than 7-9 or 8-8

In the 24 games since McDermott got here... we have started the following QBs:
Tyrod Taylor - 14 Games
Nathan Peterman - 5 Games (after this week)
Josh Allen - 3 Games
Derek Anderson - 2 Games
Joe Webb - 0 Games (Played in 1)
AJ McCarron - 0 Games
Matt Barkley - 0 Games
Nothing that hasn't been stated already, but this is downright unbelievable.
I am confused. Why did you say STARTED but then list Joe Webb, AJ McCarron and Matt Barkley as starting 0 games ?
-
My thinking at the moment. If you are drafting top 2 and can get Oliver or Bosa you do it. If you cannot then you trade down and go offensive line or WR. Just do not reach for a WR in the top 5 of this draft.

No question they have flaws. And as good as Tyree Jackson's stat line was he still makes some terrible throws. But I'm not going to let that spoil my enjoyment of the season. They could still win the MAC and get a decent bowl.
It is absolutely a penalty and was just missed by the officiating crew. The only way to legally throw a blindside block is to engage with your hands and continue the engagement with your hands. Even if you engage with the hands first, if your shoulder then comes through it is still a penalty.

I really think he'll be available on Day 3, or the end of the Day 2 at the earliest. Certainly will be an interesting test case for analytics though. I know PFF for example loves him and has him as like the #2 or 3 WR in the class while it seems most other draft pundits have him outside the top 10 WRs.
I would easily take him in round 2 or 3

Tough to believe that the NFL wants to flag Kelvin Benjamin's block but the NCAA would think this one is ok. The targeting call on Hodge near the end is likely bogus too. I'd need to see it again but I thought Hodge dropped his shoulder to initiate contact. Any head contact was glancing.
Thus the problem with officiating at the NFL Zane NCAA level today, lack of consistency. If Hodge is targeting that the blindside hit on him earlier in the game was as well.

How does a defense keep getting gashed by the same stupid play???
My thoughts too. Their QB is going to run it. This is a running team. Sell out to stop the run and trust your secondary to stop the occasional pass.

and they might not get a chance to draft AJ if somebody snatches him up in the second
I would take him in the first.

JUST DRAFT ANTHONY JOHNSON

Anthony Johnson 3 receptions 125 yards and 2 TDS ?

Because college football isn’t ********* like the NFL
unfortunately good hard clean block
Blindside block is not legal if it is first engaged with the shoulder. It would have been legal if he engaged him with his hands and did not bring the shoulder through. If you want to run through a guy with a shoulder and have it be a legal block, you need to hit him from the front.

Nice blindside block there on Hodge with no call

I would say it’s pretty unlikely he is legit. How many UDFA become good NFL QBs? Not saying it’s impossible. But not very likely. More than likely the gameplan and the raiders Swiss cheese defense is helping.
