  1. I'm not a tech noob or anything, but this is an area that I just don't have a good handle on.

I have an iPhone and an iPad. There are time I would like to be able to "cast" (see, I know the lingo) from my phone or tablet to my TV. Not Netflix or Prime Video, I have apps for those in the TV and Blu-ray player, I mean a Pay per view concert I may buy or even watching an episode of Nova on the PBS Video app, maybe even a YouTube video.

I know I can use Apple TV, but is that really my most cost effective option?

Do devices like a Chromecast or Fire Stick allow me to just cast what's on my device to my TV?

In advance, I thank you all for your thoughtful responses. :-)

From a tech at the audi dealership and from the owner of a competing dealer

This seems pretty reasonable. West Herr bought Schmitt's Audi and VM on Genesee (about 1.5 miles away). The dealership is tiny and in a really out of the way spot. Seeing them move to a more "prime" location makes a lot of sense. The Audi brand is really under-served in WNY.

I really only use the WGR app to listen to the archived material.  I love tunein, but I don't think it has that, does it?

It does not. I like listening sometime on Tunein because it allows me to pause and buffer live radio, but most of my listening is via OnDemand and that was not part of TuneIn.

The Radio.com app is good in that it's easy to use, has all the recorded content and stories, but I would have liked live radio pause.

On another note, why the hell does WGR not have an FM Simulcast. I can't imagine anyone actually listens in their home on an AM radio.

"fair, objective and passionate perspective" maybe at one time but he has neither been fair nor objective for a long time and his columns seems canned NOT passionate.

I am asking this in all seriousness, not as a bash. How old are you? If you're fandom really took root during these dark days it's easy to see critical columns as canned. I agree the message has gotten stale, but so has the losing and there's only so many ways to say that.

Again, if you're old enough to remember (and have read the paper) during the winning years I think you may agree, if you're younger, I feel bad because as fans you (and your contemporaries) have been dealt a ****ty hand.

  5. Wow, Seems Sullivan was pushed out based on his announcement. Took the buyout AFTER they took away his column. What was he expected to do if he had no column.

Say what you want about him being a crank, but the teams around here have sucked for a long time and he was the voice that was willing to remind us after a two game winning streak by either team that there was still a lot of work to be done.
I think this is a very sad day all around for Buffalo sports. I enjoy the paper because I could read more than just a game report. I enjoyed reading the OPINION of the people that covered the team day-to-day.

What will we have now? Just game reviews and feature articles?

This morning, on I-787S near Albany, NY, I saw a groundhog sitting atop a chain link fence.

I am 100% certain it was a groundhog.  Who knew those little bastards could climb fences???

I $hit you not, out my office window I just watched a groundhog climb about 3 or 4 feet up into a tree.
They're up to something I tell ya.

  7. Terrence McKelvey is a financial advisor for many NFL Players and does talks for many teams. He just posted this on Twitter and then deleted it a few minutes later...

Guess Who's Staying with Buffalo!! @tyrodTaylor

It had a picture of him with an arm around Tyrod. I have a screen cap, but can't figure out how to post the picture.

  8. I made the mistake of moving my seats a couple of years ago from the upper deck to the lower bowl. After 2 games, my wife who is 5'3" refused to go to another game because with everyone standing she could not see regardless if she stood as well. Again, she had no issue with standing on defense or in reaction to a big play, it was standing throughout the entire game for no apparent reason. We gave up our seasons this year because of it. She refused to go due to the standing and me finding someone to go to games (due to the standing and general fan behavior) was just too difficult.

I have to believe my wife and I are the kind of customer the team wants to draw, but they certainly don't make it easy. My season ticket rep asked me why we were dropping and when I told her about the standing she rather frustratedly told me its one of the biggest complaint they hear.

  9. If he's just going into funds or ETF's no need to worry about trading costs seeing he'll likely not be doing much if any trading. If it's a small amount skip the brokerage (cut out the middle man) and go directly with the fund company i.e. Vanguard.

He looked into this and the minimum to make the buy was too high. He has about $2000 to start with. We'll look into it more specifically when he settles on a specific fund.

  10. Just wondering if the Howard Simon leaving WGR has finally come down? He hasn't been on this week and, when I've been listening, they aren't saying he's on vacation - they are either not mentioning it or are simply saying he's "off."

Also, at the beginning of the week, Jeremy had a co-host I'd never heard of (can't recall his name) and I found it odd that he offered no background on the guy or why he was on.

Possible audition to take Howard's seat?

Is the Simon era over or am I reading too much into his absence?

I've been wondering the same thing. He was on one day earlier this week (Tuesday?), but no real mention since. The guy who was on Monday was also on one day last week. They kept saying his name like I should have known who he was. I found him pretty boring to tell the truth.

  11. I seem to be the one who started this little argument so I'll explain my initial comment. I have no problem with the way Whaley speaks. He is clear, and explains himself very well. He does however have a terrible tendency to make up words or use one that completely does not apply to the point he is trying to get across. Those tend to be "bigger" words, thus my joking he should limit the syllabled words he uses. This week's example... "Obviously we're in a microcosm and people want to talk about it".

    Alright, carry on. :flirt:

  12. Yes,

I received my tickets via tracked USPS mail from the Bills on Sept 12th. However, I originally received a notice to come pick it up at the post office as the Bills had sent it with insufficient postage. When i went to pick it up, I was told that they had sent a whole batch of stuff out without enough postage and at least my post office just decided to deliver them and charge the Bills back for the postage.

Your tix may have been sent and are lost in the insufficient postage zone. I would call.
