If they continue to get blown out like they have this year and next year when we play the Pat's at home, we may not have to worry about it.  The stadium will only be half full.  Sadly my only long trip to see the Bill's on Buffalo was against the Pat's 2 years ago when they blew us out, most memorable part of that game was the great dilldo throw...we should track that guy down and sign him as qb

He was indeed a very inspirational fan for many of us.

  2. As far as this season goes, today was my final straw and I will no longer be dedicating time or money to watch McDermott's garbage in 2018.

Next year? Depends. I have to see what gets upgraded during the off-season.

As far as being a Buffalo Bills fan? My final straw is when I'm six feet under.

  3. The man has 21 rushing attempts all season. 7 per game. Shouldn't we assemble a larger data set before declaring his career over?

Also, he's playing on an offense with an historically bad WR corps, maybe the worst OL in the league without Woods and Incognito, a rookie QB from the Mountain West Conference, a chronically underperforming TE in Clay, and a coaching staff who thought Nathan Peterman could be a quality NFL QB.

McCoy is one of the last people right now that I'm going to blame for the offensive woes. Maybe I'll revisit this topic in another month, but not now.

I once gave Leif Larson a piece of pizza, because he asked for it. Even said please and thank you.

Leif Larsen the polar bear wrestler! Wow, what a name drop for Buffalo Bills trivia enthusiasts! He's the guy we picked at #194 in the 2000 NFL draft because he was super strong, despite not having demonstrated any other skills or any talent for the game of football. Five picks later, the Patriots selected Tom Brady.

This will be the perfect compliment to the EJ tat I've got on my right shoulder. Thanks for posting!

That ain't nothing, bro. Do you even tattoo, bro? I have a whole sleeve of Buffalo Bills franchise QB hopefuls on my right arm: EJ, Tyrod, Fitz, Trentative, Losman, Bledsoe, RJ, and Todd Collins. And my left arm is wicked old school with Vince Ferragamo, Dennis Shaw, and Richie Lucas.

I'm pretty bullish on this defense, given the talent level relative to fit/scheme.  The DL should be above average.  I truly feel our edge rushers will look much, much better this year now that we've have legit DT's in the fold, along with the addition of Murphy.

At LB, we have Edmunds and Milano, who are not only talented but perfect fits for what McDermott wants his linebackers to do.  We could absolutely use an upgrade at Lorax's spot and move him to depth LB/situational pass rusher.  Stanford is a guy we went out a targeted as a FA, and Jets fans seem pretty high on him wishing he would've gotten a bigger chance in NY.  Humber is ok depth and Vallejo is a young guy who, again fits the LB mold of speed speed speed.   We could also see Neal as the 3rd LB/in the box safety.  I'll concede that this unit I'm high on due to potential, relative to the youth at the position, than any concrete data.

Most would acknowledge we have one of the best secondaries in the NFL.  White, Poyer and Hyde and all big time players.  Vontae Davis is the wild card.  If he regains even 75% of his form, this unit is outstanding.  Neal/Bush give us safety depth and Johnson/P. Gaines gives us DB depth.

I think this defense, led by Frazier and McDermott, could be a top 10 defense.  If Edmunds can play right away and Vontae Davis regains his form, they absolutely should be, without question.

Okay, but remember that this defense last fall finished 26th in yards allowed per game, 18th in points given up per game, and 3rd from last in the league in sacks. There is still a long way to go before we can be considered top 5-10 and "elite." We all seem to acknowledge that the LB unit could use one more quality starter (from the post-June 1 cuts?), that the DB's are looking great, and that the DL has good depth. Where I may disagree with others is probably in my assessment of the starting front 4. Hughes-Lotulelei-Williams-Murphy looks pretty mediocre to me (on paper). My biggest beef is with Hughes, whom I believe to be a mentally deficient clown that will never again reach 10 sacks in a year and will be off the roster by next January.

If we sign another LB to push Lorax to depth LB/situational pass rusher, our defense, on paper, is a monster.

Let's not get carried away here. The DL looks solid, but it is far from elite. The LB position lacks both a third legitimate starter and decent depth. At least the DB's have the potential to be considered elite.

2019 is the year when I fully expect the defense to join the ranks of the truly elite defenses like Jacksonville. One more draft plus freeing up $40 million in dead cap should be enough to patch up the LB's and bring in genuine Pro Bowl caliber pass rushers.

Rob Johnson wasn't in the '98 draft, so there seems to be some discrepancy between your opinion and the facts. Anyway, the rankings are simply that: high probability prospects that have measurables. Most will not live up to their draft ranking. If all that mattered were the " measurables" there would be no busts. A high percentage of these college QBs will flame out as pros , because there is still no way to tell if they have the all important processing speed when the real bullets are flying at the faster NFL speed. Your guess is as good- and bad as anyone else's. Since so few of these QBs will become stars, saying player X will bust is a higher probability prediction than saying that same player X is a can't miss all-pro.

This is definitely true. What's clear is that this year looks like the target year to draft one. 4 highly ranked ranked possibles don't fall in the same draft class all that often.

Nothing wrong with my facts. RJ was traded to the Bills during the 1998 offseason. I was against that trade in 1998. I didn't know anything about RJ during his draft year. I was too focused on Todd Collins at that time. Don't ever try to embarrass me again on this message board. Believe me, I know my Buffalo Bills history. I've got ranch dressing stains on my size XXXL Zubaz pants that are older than you, son.

Can someone give me historical examples of modern NFL QB prospects from small college programs who had below a 60% career completion percentage, started less than 30 games, won less than 20 games, and yet still had successful NFL careers? I'll leave the definitions of "modern NFL," "small college program," and "successful NFL career" ambiguous because I'm just looking for a working list at the moment. Thank you for doing this on-line research for me. I'm too busy working at my generic blue-collar factory job right now to do it myself.

Yeah I don’t know- Biff from Tonawanda insists that Josh Allen is definitely gonna suck.  Surely he knows more than Scouts Inc. (Biff being a metaphor for half the people on this website).

Go ahead and ridicule me. But I was right on RJ in 1998, Losman in 2004, and Manuel in 2013. Typical "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" QB types who lacked the requisite accuracy and decision-making skills to thrive in the modern-era NFL. If they haven't shown the ability by the time they finish college, it's extremely rare for them to somehow figure it out within the first few years in the pros.
