what did you expect. nathan peterman was the starting qb going into the season. That is such a slap to the faces of the fans. As frustrating as tyrod was , at least he is an nfl caliber talent. he would atleast keep us from being a laughing stock

80 percent was being very conservative. Only the 1st 3 you mentioned are truly the elite guys that it seems your never out of a game with having on your roster. Wentz hasn't been in the league long enough to prove that, and Wilson hasn't been able to do much recently. You could consider at one point both Mannings as guys that could bring you back from any deficit but even then, 5 of 32 isnt many, and its not common that your going to even have a chance of ever getting one.
do you know what russell wilson's stats are last year?

Well atleast not against one of the best in the game currently.
Don't think the comeback happens against atleast 80% of the league, but anything is possible when playing against Rogers, Brady and a couple of the games other bests.
Coaching/offensive play calling also didn't help
but that's just it . 80 percent of the league isn't in contention. usually its the top 20 percent. brees, brady, rodgers, wentz, wilson, those are the guys that give you a chance regardless of who else is on the field. And those are the guys that can win you championships.

this game is a perfect example of why the qb position is the only one that matters. Those 2 first round picks the bears wasted on mack won't help them win as long as trubisky is their qb.

Tell that to Andrew Luck.
you mean the team that finished 2-14 one year that drafted andrew luck , then proceeded to finish 11-5 the next year?
Then that same qb misses the whole season and voila 4-12.
A good qb makes every position on offense and potentially on defense better.

Just FYI incarceratedbob is a fraud, but there is no doubt that I believe the two teams have had discussions.

Sure. Just referencing that may cite RG3 knee as the Turing pint in an otherwise the promising looking career of a second overall QB. And Wentzs knee is reportedly severely jacked up.
Wentz looked way better than RG ever did. Wasn’t suggesting otherwise.
That rg3 rookie year was all smoke and mirros. Shanahan was unbelievable that year.

Should he retire now to accelerate his enshrinement?
He’s off to a promising almost 2 seasons but you’re getting a bit ahead of yourself
you knwo what i mean, RG3 had a lot more wrong with him than just his knee.

I don’t understand the question then.
Is wentz good- seemed like it till he blew out his knee and became a cheerleader
did the eagles win the championship- yes
did Wentz have something to do with it- partially
was it worth the future collateral they traded- TBD
Would wentz have won the Super Bowl- don’t know
Will he be able to carry the team once they shed talent without the replenishing picks- unknown
There is no conclusion on wentz. His story isn’t yet written. He made some nice plays. He’s not won a playoff game in two seasons as a pro despite being a #2 overall. Same is true of #1 Foles.
maybe the gotta trade into the top 5 crowd should follow the jets.
The Eagles sure gave up a lot of future collateral. That roster is so void of talent, how they can even field a team is a mystery to me.

This is not true though. Teams started scouting Wentz back in college, during the college season. Like I said even our failed GM Doug Whaley.

Of course they did, but there was not a lot of tape on him. Good lord are you joking with me. Darnold has been discussed as the first overall pick all year. Mayock said in that article that "he may be a first rounder"

Agreed; unfortunately the 2018 draft class is bankrupt of a stud. Or if he is in fact there, it is as likely as Rudolph and Jackson as it it Darnold or Rosen.
I think the big 4 can all be studs. I think Rosen is the best, Allen highest ceiling, darnold safest, and Mayfield kind of a wildcard. He is like russell wilson.
This is the best qb class since the ben, rivers, eli draft. And that was a long time ago.

Months before. Months. Go google it.
How many qb's in college do you think can throw it 60 mph? Not many and those who can are automatically at the top of any prospects list to scout. Not surprising to see wentz up there. he got there on his physical abilities not his college performance.

Those are some really good points. Jets are certainly all over the map this off-season. I think the Bridgewater signing is the most puzzling as you pointed too. At the end of the day though, the Jets might land a franchise QB which would suck. I'm really hoping they draft Allen and don't land Rosen or Mayfield. Mayfield in particular seems like a guy that could shine and play with swagger in New York. I have no desire to see Mayfield grab his nuts twice a year as he walks off the field in victory over the Bills.
In that scenario the Broncos trade up one spot with the Browns to ensure they land Mayfield and the Browns move back one spot and still get the guy they wanted all along in Barkley. That would be a terrific hall for the Browns. And with so many picks on day two and three of the draft I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Browns trade back into the first round to go for quality over quantity. Could be looking at the Browns selecting three players in the first round.
That is why i think if we want to get to 4 we have to get to 6 first. If we get to 6 There is a chance barkley could slip past denver, all we would have to do is beat Denver's offer.

Everyone was talking about Wentz during the football season. Even Whaley and his guys were talking abuot Wentz months before the senior bowl.
months? you mean those 2 months where he had a broken wrist. Wentz got drafted by his size and arm talent. Not by his college performance.

I get the Wentz pick WEO I get it. But that team won without him against the greatest qb ever. That roster and coaching staff was just as competitive with a nearly retired castoff journeyman. But now the bar for Wentz is very high to prove he was worth it all. Very much tbd. Reports are his knee injury rg3 bad.
Wentz had had as much to do with this run as Phil Simms did with Super Bowl 25
Well wentz got them a bye, and he got them home field advantage . He had a lot to do with their success. His knee maybe rg3 bad, but his Mind and Arm are Peyton manning good.

He was a senior who got to play in the senior bowl where every GM could actually see what and who he was. Darnold wouldn't even work out at the combine. I'd take Wentz over Darnold every time. Doesn't mean Darnold wont be better in the long run just means he has more questions.
Wentz had to throw every chance he got because no one saw him. Darnold was playing on national television every game.

But the bills went just as far in the playoffs as the rams with a fifth round cast off... sigh alright your right Carson Wentz won the playoff from IR.
i give up. Beane if you don’t trade every pick for the next 5 years to draft matt leinart or Robert Griffin I’m so done with this team
Are you insinuating that we are further along than the rams?

Those QBs were all rated higher than the QBs in this draft. The only QB with as much talent is Darnold and he's coming out after starting two years so you really have to do a larger projection on him then you did with the others because they had more college starting experience.
no. Wentz threw 600 passes in his career for a d2 college . When he was drafted no one knew who the hell he was , it was all highlights and projections. If anyone knew how good he was going to be the Browns could've gotten a lot more for him.

It's a shout-out due to the exclusion of not mentioning Cleveland or Buffalo. Has he said directly that he doesn't want to play in CLE or BUF. No.
Not as big a deal for Allen to go to CLE or BUF or even DEN. He played in Wyoming while Rosen played in SoCal. Playing in crap weather is not on the top of everyone's list.
Which one ? Us or CLE ?
Damn straight I would and would even consider sitting out.
How dare you think we are even close to cleveland's level!

Math says otherwise. But again my point here is the cost to move into the top five is tremendous.
Maybe the best analysis is to overlay the odds of starting a Super Bowl qb (which I consider the goal) for all the pick you have to surrender to increase your probability to 24%?
Teams that have traded picks to get their qb in the top 5.
1. Wentz. worked out
2. Goff worked out
3. Eli worked out
If all those teams can give up picks to get a qb and be competitive so can we.
-
I Like Jackson's ceiling but he is far from there. He will need 2 years atleast.

That is simply a veiled comment for "I want to be drafted by a winner"
If you were a start college qb , and were potentially a top 3 pick , wouldn't you do everything in your power to avoid playing for the most disasterous organization in sports.

Did Vontae Davis retire at halftime? Yes, yes he did!

This is a story i am going to be telling my grandkids. "Grandpa how bad were the bills back in the day", " well sonny, they were so bad their starting cornerback retired at halftime of the 2nd game of the season one year"
