  1. If we lose Clements I wouldn't say we are in great shape.

McGee, King, Greer are all small corners. Thomas I'm not even counting as I think he won't even be here next year. He was a step slow before his injury. Vincent could play some corner if need but is getting old.

If they go into fa to get a corner that will cost some good $$$. Not Clements $$$ but I'd rather pay the difference and keep NC.

  2. McGee is a good player, and he makes things happen when he has the ball, but he is an average corner.  Yes, an awsome KR, but this love fest is a bit ridiculous.  He does have a nose for the ball, but he also gets beat in coverage throughout the game.

No no, don't say that. He' a better corner than Nate now. You didn't get the message?

They have stopped going after McGee and they now pick on Nate.

Nate is the #1 for a reason. He takes the #1 receiver the majority of the game., and usually does a very good job on him. He's a big corner and a good tackler.

You guys that don't want to pay Nate are gonna be bitching next year when teams are throwing all over this team. Remember their pass rush isn't the greatest on 3rd downs so that makes it even more difficult on the corners. McGee will move to the #1 if Clements leaves, and it's a whole new ballgame for him then. He is not very big and #1 receivers will give him problems. I don't even want to think about the #'s 2,3,@4 behind him.

    Let's sign both of them.

  3. The point is if your game plan is to run the ball then don't panic and stick to it. Since Willis is their best player and not either of the qb's, and the o-line is built for and better at run blocking, you need to run the ball and control the clock.

Sometimes these coaches try to get to cute and overcoach. I also would like to see more screens w/ Willis. 30 touches and I'll take my chances.

  4. The Bills record when Willis gets 20 carries or more a game the last two seasons.

    10 wins, 1 loss.

2 wins, 5 losses when he is under 20 carries.

I threw out the first four weeks of 2004 since he hardly played, and the Bills lost them all anyway.

    Coincidence ?

  5. The o-line and Rian Lindell.

I've been given both all hell but today they deserve the props.

Running game was excellent and Lindell makes big kick before half.

It's amazing what can happen when you give your best player the ball 30 touches.

  6. I was listening to Mike Franseca on the fan yesterday and he was saying that Martin is obviously banged up and hobbling, to what exent I guess we won't know to Sunday, but he isn't 100%. He was also talking about a lack of a suitable backup with Blaylock out for the year now. Thus Vinny is supposedly gonna shoulder the load.

Well damn. If the Bills can't shut down a 41 yr. old qb who was out of the league untill two weeks ago than they have some problems. Vinny will be sitting right there for them in the pocket. It's time for Schobel and Kelsay to bring some comsistent heat w/o blitzing every down. The Bills defense should come up with at least 2-3 turnovers.

  7. What, from an empirical standpoint, is the basis for your position that Drew plays well early and not so well later in the season?  I am not interested in stats that show this to be the case but an explanation as to why.

I think Drew's performance is a lot like that of other QB's, dependent in part on what is around him.  Lousy lines and lousy QB's seem to go together.  Same with lousy OC's and lousy offenses.  He is gone now so it just doesn't matter.  I think if the Bills were playing well we wouldn't care if Drew was the front runner for MVP but since they aren't, its natural to wonder, what if?

    You nailed it. Excellent post.

  8. Are you trying to argue that TD has done an adequate job of addressing the OL?  :o

    :D:D:D

There not that bad Simon ? They are terrible.

And out of those eleven players TD brought in, 2 maybe 3 can actually play worth a lick to this point.

  9. SSSSHHHHH ! Don't tell anyone. It's Bledsoes and Losmans fault. One can't move and the other is too young.

What are Teague and Bennie Anderson smoking ? They believe they have been doing good things out there and this is the best the line has played in four year according to the article in Rochester this morning. :)
