My take is the correct take, whether you agree with it or not. Next year's QB class is HOT GARBAGE. Look into it. There can be no more excuses or delay.

Haha your opinion is the correct opinion?  Ill just pack my bags now sorry. Btw you dont need to draft a qb to find a starter, we could pay for one in FA and still get 4 rookie starters on rookie contracts if they play their cards right.  Your dream qb could still bust out leaving us dead in the water for another 3 years, but that could never happen because your'e never wrong.  Im surprised with 34,000 posts NFL owners dont have you on speed dial for advice

Perhaps if our garbo QB had been able to accumulate more than 150 yards and ZERO TD, that wouldn't have been an issue.

    Lousy take. Try harder.

I was just playing devils advocate and countering your lousy redundant take.  Not really a news flash qb is more important than DL, but saying " we need a qb more so lets do that" is as productive as saying crime is bad.  Thanks for breaking news Cronkite

So overpaying a 30yr old RB on his last legs is a sign in the right direction? I think this front office has a good feel for defensive talent but so far on the offensive side of the ball they have showed that there offensive acumen is lacking at best.

From putting Tyrod in the wrong offense to stripping him away of proper weapons and the worst thing putting Tolbert at #2 bk when in his prime he wasn't even thought of as a #2 back i mean it took him 11yrs to be a #2 back, smh. Last but not least passing on Mahomes and Watson was a humongous mistake that we can possibly dreading for yrs to come. Oh yea plus trading up Lame Jones when there was way better Wrs later in the draft.  These moves on the offensive side of the ball have proven to be futile at best.

So with that glowing take on the front offices building abilities, you trust them to mortgage essentially our entire future in 5 +/- draft picks and put it all on the shoulders of a college kid? Good qbs can be found outside of the draft

  4. Foles signed a five-year contract with the Eagles, but it had one major caveat. If he is on the Eagles' roster come February 2019, the final three years of the deal will automatically be voided and he'll become a free agent. Voiding contracts aren't entirely uncommon; this one almost guarantees that Foles will be traded by February 2019.

Weird contract but if we gave up a first for him I wouldnt be mad.  If he busts it sucks, if he works out we have him for like 4 more years at 25 mil.  Check the specifics but id roll the dice on a qb that just beat the vikings and patriots

That's because Foles was stinking it up during the regular season before the playoffs began.  No more Fool's Gold retreads!

I get the skepticism and dont want to go all in for such a hot and cold qb.  But you have to weigh his amazing games, when is mattered most (NFC chip/superbowl) against his bad reg season numbers.  You cant totally discount one without giving some to the other.

Agreed, but I would prefer to keep him somewhere in the NFC or at the very least outside the AFC East. While he is not "Elite" he is still a very good QB and would prefer to not have to play him all that often.

Am I crazy for wanting him to go to the jets?  Not only does it open up a qb for us, but the jets will blow their FA on Kirk.  I cant name one legitimate threat on the Jets offense and I do not want them finding the heir QB to the AFC East in the draft.

2017: 68 penalty yards in exchange for 4 sacks,1 FF, and 28 tackles

2016: 80 penalty yards, in exchange for 6 sacks, 1 FF, and 31 tackles

2015: 114 penalty yards, in exchange for 5 sacks, 2 FF, and 37 tackles

Yeah, it's not a "false perspective"....

They always seem to come at the absolute worst time also, makes that much heavier

I'm glad Beane and McDermott aren't as patient as these Bills fans who've been waiting for a QB for 23 years. It's insane the level of patience these people have lol

You have no idea what McBeane plans on doing.  Our QBs are still Tyrod and NP so I would re-evaluate if I were you

Why is denver last? They have the best WR corps out of every team you named besides the Vikings. Arizona has a much better run game than we do now so they wouls be ahead of us too.

I think you just want Cousins and are doing mental gymnastics to make it work.

Sorry bud, we are not signing kirk. We are trading up for a franchise rookie QB.

Edit: if Cousins goes to Jax, they instantly become a Super Bowl favorite.

Jets have a solid defense and a few good WRs that got hurt last year. With a few good draft picks and Cousins under center the Jets might become dominant so lets hope not.

Denver would be crazy over the cap if they signed him, they would have to sell a huge chunk of their talent to make it work for him.  not much gymnastics needed to crunch those numbers

Can someone please explain to me why people think the Vikings are in the driver seat to sign him?  They were 1 game away from the show with keenum in his first season with the team.  Even if cousins is better than all 3 qbs they have why would they spend insane money to sign him.  Even if he is better than all 3, its not a huge gap so this makes 0 sense to me.  not to mention it doesnt show much loyalty to any of those 3 if they cut them all and sign another player. but hey

....strange how the "franchise QB" is highly coveted here and elsewhere......seem to be far and few between, yet Cousins' jersey apparently says "FRANCHISE QB" on the back.....sure it is Boy Danny Snyder and his gang, but Bruce Allen was a pretty well respected guy in TB (his old man was George, not too bad of a football guy)....so why if the Deadskins have this rare specimen are they so willing to part with it?........sure isn't the money....Snyder throws money and picks around like a drunken sailor....sure doesn't make a helluva lot of sense to me........

Thats why they franchise tagged him multiple times.  If they thought he was truly a franchise qb they would have given him a huge contract.  They wanted him to prove he either could or couldnt carry the team and put up monster numbers.

Pretty much my same plan.  I too think Baker is the best QB in this draft and fully agree if he was 6’3 he would be the unquestioned top ranked QB and probably number 1 overall pick.

I too like the idea of signing cousins and using all my picks on the roster, although I think ultimately he will sign with either Jets or Broncos.  But if we draft a QB, Baker is the guy I want the most.  I will still be excited about any first round QB we land, but my preference in order is Baker followed by Rosen, Lamar, Darnold, Allen, Mason.

And Baker would cost us less to trade up to get, plus he might even fall to us if Cousins is signed by Jets or Broncos and AZ takes Lamar like I think they will.

Can you explain why you would ever want Lamar over any of the other qbs?  Not trash talking, I just see Tyrod Taylor all over again with a worse arm.  I thought we were moving away from that

But this is about trading up and no one has ever thought of it as an idea to get the Franchise QB we'd all like to see in Buffalo.

Hey great point, guess you dont rack up 70,000 posts without some frivolous points like that

Word is they wanted Trubinski. After Chicago drafted him, their QB was now now gone. Buffalo let KC take Mahomes and we got a 1st for 2018 and drafted Tre-day.

Mahomes hasn't done anything in the league, so I don't get why people are butt hurt over not drafting him.

Watson looked like the real deal pre injury. Who knows how he returns. Also a lot of teams passed up Watson....

I am happy with Tre and having 2 firsts in what is said to be the best QB class in a long long time.  So it made sense to stock up and draft our QB this year.

    Just my opinion!

I dont follow college football really.  Would you say this is the most talented and deepest class?  I see 5 qbs that will more than likely go in the 1st.

There is no reason to ever start another QB thread.  Ever.

Two roads you could have taken. 1) Let a new member voice his opinion and have a constructive conversation with fellow bills fans and you be on your merry way.  2) Open the thread and pile on your complaining and belly aching because you have nothing better to say.  Save your 2 cents next time .

Drew Brees had it when he was at Purdue...  Maturity. Class. Baker Mayfield does not. I could give two craps about his obvious talent. It's going to be wasted because he is a jack ass. I can pretty much guarantee we will not be drafting him based off what McBeane has done in their first season.  Cousins would be in play before Mayfield just based on how he lives his life.  I am fairly certain we will not sign Cousins either based off what McBeane has done in their first season...

Barring some crazy trade up for Rosen, Darnold, or Allen; we should probably prepare ourselves for someone like Lamar Jackson or Mike White.

You may be correct we wont be drafted because McBeane doesnt like his attitude but to say his talent will be wasted because is foolish.  And to say you "dont give two craps about talent" is even worse.  If I wanted to find class and sophistication id hire a butler.  Mayfield doesnt just like to win, he hates to lose and that should trump every other flag that comes up.  Your evaluation is misguided and wayyyyy off base.

yeah just that ExWNY ragging on people for giving an opinion.  I am nothing close to an expert in his history or what he is capable of.  But judging off his past experience in the NFL is kinda scares me.  His O's never made it out of the basement, no matter what happened.  His fault or not hes picking up a similar situation in Buffalo, what makes people so sure he will be our savior now? Seems everyone supporting is is basing it off other coaches word of mouth. Which doesnt mean much to me

Don't bother with trying to be reasonable. Some of the "I hate everything" posters on this board are already convinced that he sucks because he was not "their choice". He's hired and that's not changing. I, for one, hope he succeeds.I'd rather see the Bills win than get mad because they didn't hire the guy "I wanted".

There is definitely a difference between recognizing if/when someone wont work out as opposed to a fan supporting their team.  I will root for the bills regardless, but I recognize he might not be the best choice.  I think thats a little more reasonable than blindly following a party just because they say so

This guy gets it.  The Jaguars have the best defense in the league and have NO CHANCE at winning the super bowl because their QB sucks.  No other position really matters other than QB.   Have to get your franchise guy no matter the cost

So what you're hoping for is to be like the Jags and reach for a QB so it can put us over the hump and be successful.  Kind of like how the Jags reached for Bortles at 3 in 2014? Essentially they are a threat because they built around Bortles. Just shows the volatility of reaching for a qb early, wed also have to sacrifice 3 first rounders too.
