    Mine is passing yards.

Here's my reasoning. I cannot think of a QB who throws for a ton of yards who was not at least a decent NFL starter.

If you throw for a ton of yards, that means you are moving your team down the field. The offense is working. Things are happening. Plays are being made in the passing game.

All of that means you have a foundation to build on. If it's a Carson Palmer type situation where the guy throws for 300+ all the time but also 3 INT you can try to work on that ans cut those picks down with coaching. At least the guy has proven able to move the sticks and get skill positions involved in the game. Stafford is a lot like this too. the guy throws for a ton of yards but also turns it over a bit too much.

Lots of bad QBs had a great completion %. Think trent with the Bills (he forever gets the lower case for prancing out of bounds without a care in the world on a 4th down play with the game on the line in GB).

Lots of Bad QBs have thrown for a surprising number of TD. Blake Bortles was right behind Tom Brady for the 2016 season in TD passes. But he stinks.

I always come back to yards, because it means the QB is playing the game. His job is to distribute the ball and move the team down the field, and yards are proof that he is doing that.

What is YOUR #1 QB performance metric?

Um... I am not sure that's the best metric.

Rank Player University (Seasons) Total passing yards
    1 Case Keenum Houston (20072011) 19,217
    2 Timmy Chang Hawaii (20002004) 17,072
    3 Landry Jones Oklahoma (20092012) 16,646
    4 Graham Harrell Texas Tech (20052008) 15,793
    5 Ty Detmer BYU (19881991) 15,031
    6 Kellen Moore Boise State (20082011) 14,667
    7 Baker Mayfield Texas Tech (2013), Oklahoma (20152017) 14,607
    8 Luke Falk Washington State (20142017) 14,481
    9 Colt Brennan Hawaii (20052007) 14,193
    10 Rakeem Cato Marshall (20112014) 14,079
    11 Mason Rudolph Oklahoma State (20142017) 13,618
    12 Sean Mannion Oregon State (20112014) 13,600
    13 Philip Rivers NC State (20002003) 13,484
    14 Corey Robinson Troy (20102013) 13,477
    15 Colt McCoy Texas (20062009)

Here is one from Nathan Segura that was discussed on Cleveland Browns daily ... Browns take QB at #1 ... Browns Trade #4 to Bills for #12, #22, and 2019 #1 ... Then Browns Trade #22 and 2019 #1 (Bills) to Colts for #6 ... Browns end up with #1, #6, #12, #33, #35, and #64 ... Bills Pick QB at #4

the 22nd pick and next years first is definitely not enough for the 6th overall. Not even close to being reality.

They have one that says that already. It was at the bills store for a while. Don't think they sold any tho lol.

I'm not a fan of the draft hat.  Thought of fat Albert when I saw it.

And now we know why I am not in marketing

My guess is that Darnold is the Bills guy and you won't see him in for a visit. They have done a great job of putting a lot of miss information out there, national insiders have said Buffalo is very high on every QB except Darnold. I have seen the Bills liking Allen, Mayfield, Rosen, but nothing really on Darnold.

Of course, within minutes of me saying this, the Bills schedule a visit with Darnold

No Darnold, Allen or Lamar scheduled yet. Unless the media is unaware.

3 first round picks??? Wow that is insane if that is the the case. Forget the trade up we can’t afford to give up that much while we are building. I guess stay put and take Mason Rudolph and hope he develops into a solid QB.

That is why Beane won't go up that far. The price to go up that high for a QB was really set with the Eagles trading up for Wentz and before that the RG3 disaster by Washington. The price is just too steep unless that is the only thing you need. I think it worked out for Phili because they had just a good foundation of talent in place. I dont think we are there yet.

Hey dude, I have 1 person in our group of 8 who might have to bail. We're leaving from Atlanta Saturday around noon and coming back Sunday night after the game. If spot opens up, do you want in? Ticket $220, half hotel room $60, not sure what the Van rental is costing yet but it's not much.

Maybe i'll see you on the road, I am leaving from Atlanta around that time as well. If you see a cherry red camaro convertible with a Bills license plate in the front, beep and say hi, haha.

my Source is okay. So you know a general location. Get the exact location won’t come from me.  He knows I made an honest mistake.  He will continue to share but I cannot talk about the stadium anymore.  So that is off limits.  He did confirm with another source the bills will talk with Benjamin’s agent next week. If the bills lose, look for coaching changes soon after the season

Ok Don, I am a little confused here. In one post, you say if the Bills lose, look for coaching changes, then not long after that, you say McDermott is about loyalty. Am I missing something here? That seems to be polar opposite information.

Watch the ice bowl tonight on nfl network and tell that to the cowboys.  The packers knew when the cowboys were going to pass based on whether bob Hayes had his hand inside or outside of his pockets.  If home field is overrated than why are the pats and Steelers still fighting for it?

didn't Michael Vick and the domed Falcons go into Green Bay in the playoffs and beat the Pack? While I love to think that it's an advantage, I am not sure it is anymore with heaters on the sidelines. I think back in the day, it probably was, but not anymore.

There is still property in the area. Not as close but the value will increase once the news breaks that is how real estate works.  Property values go up based on growth go down when businesses move out.

Not to be negative here because I don't have a dog in the fight, but you kind of bring some of the negativity on yourself with condescending posts like this. Just my two cents.

I like Cadet but if they want to invest a few dollars and hurt an opponent Dion Lewis would help this team a lot.  According to spotrac he is a free agent .

I like your thinking there, it would be nice to hurt them for a change instead of them always taking our guys. But I would still prefer a change of pace back. Lewis is similar to Shady but I would prefer a bigger guy which is why I was so excited about Karlos Williams, what a perfect one two punch those two were.

At the end of January. As soon as we close on our property I will pm you with the location.  It will shock you. Right under your nose. U will kick yourself for not connecting the dots and buying land.

Back to football, we can all agree we must upgrade at our running back position. Tolbert is done.  Cadet reminded me of Kenny davis.  Good change of pace back.  Drop off from Thurman but still very good.  I know Shady needs a rest but why we insist on giving Tolbert the ball defies logic.  It would be better for Taylor to take a knee. We would lose less yards.  The Bills have identified two backs that they will target.  One is a a free agent the other we would have to trade for. We see the bills waiting for draft day and letting the team move up in the draft for him. Both are not superstars but huge upgrade over Tolbert and could carry the load for a few games if Shady pulls a hammy

Have you already listed the top 6 free agent targets? I might have missed it but you were going to compare with what someone else posted as what they thought the top 6 targets would be.
