Nor does being under .500 in games decided by 7 points or multiple year defensive implosions. If you want to believe the past events happened in a vacuum and are not symptoms of a bigger problem, that's up to you. I would bet everything I have that isn't the case.

Then you're assuming that nobody learns from past games and that the same decisions and situations will happen in every game, which just isn't true.

We are 1-4 in the divisional round or later. We are below .500 in games decided by 7 points or less. So with less talent than all those previous teams, you expect us to figure it out and sneak by those Chiefs (who only stopped themselves one time last year, by fumbling). Then, after we do that, somehow parlay that win into a multi win run stretch to the promise land.  All if we land a mid 30 year old WR who our OC has never shown an ability to game plan for. Sure, we are just Davante Adams away. How about we aim for that first W against a winning team or maybe something outside the worst passing game in the last 20 years.

Being 1-4 in the divisional round or later doesn't really have any bearing on playoff games this year.

disagree.  SB Teams have elite players.  Adams is still elite at what he does.  Currently, we have very few elite players

There is almost ABSOLUTE ZERO chance of this WR Group prevailing against SF, DET, MIN, Etc in a Super Bowl

    Not to mention... KC

The one thing Diggs used to have here was a nasty edge.

That is currently missing in the WR room IMO.   Adams plays fiery

How many elite players does a good NFL team have?  Maybe 3?  KC has Mahomes, Kelce and Chris Jones.  Maybe you can include one of their offensive lineman.  Minnesota is 5-0 and have probably 1 elite player, Justin Jefferson.  Teams don't have a plethora of elite players and go to the SB all the time.  We have one at the most important position, and we have many very good players.

I watch Ryan Hall Y'all on youtube for live weather.  So many huge tornadoes running through eastern Florida before the hurricane even gets there.  I really hope there is some way that people are getting advanced notice.  17 tornado warnings out at one time today.  Praying everyone has a safe place to take cover.  Vero and Melboune are on the eastern coast and they are getting hit hard.

I live in Vero Beach.  So far, it hasn't been that bad.  We had some bad rain earlier today, but for the last 2-3 hours it has been pretty quiet.  It will start to pick up as the hurricane moves west though.

I live just east of Tampa - going through the brunt of it right now.  Still have power,  but winds are getting stronger and stronger.  No concerns of losing my house, but power (if lost) would be a major inconvenience

Stay safe, I'm in Vero Beach so we're going to get the brunt of it pretty soon.

  5. It's like, why should it be that the Jets will be "fired up" because they just fired their coach because they aren't good so now we're in trouble because they need their coach to get fired to actually play well?  Why can't we be the ones that are fired up because we lost 2 straight and are the better team, come in and take care of business?  It's always the other way and its annoying.

I've grown up here since the 80's, and Central Florida never got hit between 1980-2016 except for 2004 when we had 3 in a month, but since 2016 I can count at least 10 that have affected the Central Florida area.

There was a legend around here that Walt Disney chose Orlando because it was the least likely area of Florida to get hit with Hurricanes......that theory held up for a long time, but I think we can put that legend to rest at this point.

I know some don't believe in it, but I can assure you that Climate Change is a key driver of the uptick in Hurricane activity in my area...I've been seriously considering moving, but anywhere you go will have their own unique severe weather to deal with......I guess we go with the Devil we know!!

I'm on the east coast in central Florida, a little south of Melbourne.  We put up the hurricane shutters today.  Hoping it doesn't get too bad here and we don't lose power.

On the 2nd down play I see 2 open options, Kincaid over the middle and Coleman outside toward bottom of pic 1.  Spencer Brown lost his rep and Allen had to rush the throw, but he also locked onto Hollins for some reason.  If he throws to Kincaid or Coleman, its at least 6-7 yards if not a first.

On the third down play, Samuel is wide open but Dawkins gets pushed back and affects Allen's throw.  I think there is blame to go on the Oline as well as the receivers, but its not all on one group.  Receivers are getting open sometimes, but the oline breaks down, or vice versa.  Or Allen maybe locks onto a receiver.

Sensational writing at its best. I had to rewatch this after reading that article.

Totally inaccurate. Do they not think we can rewatch????

This is Williams already in the middle of the field.  Bishop booking it back whilst the one judge has just placed the ball at the LOS and is still visible next to Houston’s OLine:

This is everyone set and ready for 2 to 3 seconds before the ball is snapped…

Safeties were deep yes but a beat of press prevents a TD, the rest take short passes taken away. Perfect coverage. Pass goes to the leak out due to no pass rush/pressure.

How people are complaining about the above coverage is wild. Especially with the garbage “10 men/not ready”. That coverage, again, is perfect.

The only issue anyone should have with the end of the game is not making Houston use all 3 of their time outs.

Thank you for posting this.  I've been wanting the Bills to implement this kind of defense at end-of-game situations like this where they rush only 1 or 2 defenders and the rest play coverage.  You're not worried about the time, and they just need something short.  The pass rush isn't going to get there regardless.  The play call was great.  They just hit the back out of the backfield to get the 5 yards, and thats all they needed.

People want to complain about something and not actually research what happened.

  9. You know they had 3 timeouts, right?  If you run 3 times and don't get the first, you are still punting and they are getting the ball where they got it anyway.  At that point, the timeouts don't matter as they only need 5 yards or so to attempt the field goal.

I don't get why everyone is saying it was a terrible decision.  Could they have ran it once and saw how the Houston was playing it and then go from there?  Sure.  But if they don't get the first down, it ends up the same anyway.  I feel like everyone is missing this point.

By this logic, any decision that results in a loss, was the right decision.

If Josh took the ball and purposefully ran out of the back of the endzone, creating a safety and losing the game, that’s the “right” decision just because the outcome is the same (a loss)? No.

No, but passing 3 times or running 3 times and not getting a first down results in the same outcome.

    Actually it does.

Getting a first down guarantees overtime, but comes with considerable risk if you don’t get the first down.

Running gives you the best chance of getting to OT without the risk of throwing to get a first down.

    Yes it was.

Actually throwing deep was the only thing that gave us a fighting chance. The deeper passes is what took an extra second or two off the clock (which is Gunner’s point). Short passes are essentially a run.

Running 3 times doesn't guarantee it would have gone to overtime.  They would have used all their timeouts.  Then we punt and they get the ball around the same spot, and probably run 2 out of bounds plays instead of one in bounds.
