I hate when people bring up past drafts and mention who we could have drafted at our spot instead of drafting whatever player we did that ended up being bad. Its in the past, and its something you have no control over. What's done is done. Being upset about past bad draft picks does nothing productive at all. The only thing you can do is learn from it and move on. But just bringing it up and saying "what if" just makes no sense to me.

I totally agree with getting a lead early, preferably 2 scores, and forcing Lamar to throw to the sidelines. In planning for this game I would say, if this game looks like its gonna be a shootout, I would treat every drive like its 4 down territory, unless its an obvious punt or fg situation. That will help keep up with the Ravens, but it also gives the offense a more confident mindset that they have 4 downs to get a first instead of 3. You need to be aggressive and if this game is high scoring, we're probably going for a lot of 4th downs, unless we're really good on downs 1 - 3.

Oh don't get me wrong, I feel better about our offense than our defense in this game. And what we have seen from the D the past 2 weeks as Milano gets more and more into form is encouraging. Just hard to get too hyped about that given the offenses we were playing were not too dangerous.
I still think we can, and will, win this game...but admittedly, this is the one matchup that concerns me the most of anyone in either conference of the playoffs.
IMHO - If we beat the Ravens, we will win the Super Bowl as I don't see us losing to KC (or Hou if they pull the upset) and we already beat the best team in the NFC.
Yeah, its definitely not the best matchup for us, but to win a SB you have to beat at least a couple really good teams. We can't just keep saying next year anymore. This is year 5 of us being just about SB calibre or SB calibre. This is the 3rd year in a row with a divisional game at home. Going 0-3 would look pretty bad. One of these years something has to give. I do like that we have an aggressive mindset now and I'm sure we'll continue that onward. Go for every 4th and 1, no matter where you are on the field - the sneak works like 95% of the time, its worth it. Throw on obvious running downs even when you are up a couple scores so you can maintain momentum and eat clock.

Im not gonna get too over hyped about middling offenses like the Jets and a rookie led Broncos in his first post season game on the road in Buffalo.
Im encouraged, but still concerned about a Ravens team who dominated us in the trenches on both sides of the ball in week 4, and that was when their defense still sucked too and not since being the #1 D since shifting Kyle Williams.
We have to win in the trenches for us to beat Baltimore.
The Ravens defense is better than it was in week 4, but so is our offense. I'm confident our offense can move the ball and score. If we need to score 33-35 points we can. The defense I'm not hugely confident in, but I do think it will do better than the first matchup because we are healthier and we're at home. Ideally we get up early like we did against Detroit, 10-14 points, and then match scores the rest of the way. At minimum, have the ball last down less than 7 with a chance to win at the end.

I’m so glad I stayed away from the 1H GDT. I’m sure the firing squad — I’m calling them that from now on — was out in full force.
Wasn’t ever worried, really. But I can’t say I expected the D to pitch a shutout after that first series.
I did have a very small parlay on Kincaid and Knox TDs that I hedged with single bets that each would have repaid my (again, very small) investment. So my lone moment of unhappiness came when Josh missed Knox on that first drive.
I know a lot of people like the GDT and I sometimes read it after the game to see comments, but there is no way I would be able to participate in one during the game. First of all, during games I'm lazer focused on just the game, its just how I am for those 3 hours. I can't really do anything else. And I don't like reading or listening to any negativity during the game because I get more upset than I should and I have a hard time handling it. I've gotten way better about not overreacting to every play during games. I used to live and die by each TD, and it got to the point where it was just too much anxiety, especially about something you have no control over. I learned that its a 60 minute game and to let it play out. Sure I'm nervous but its not overboard.

they probably said that about us against the Steelers backups once upon a timeYeah, probably not. I'm not saying it can't happen, but it's happened once in about 20 years. And this Broncos team is better coached than that Bills team.

Yeah I don't know why everyone was so worried about Cincy. Denver was never going to lose this game.

I don't want them to lose, but would not be shocked if they did. They are an ideal wild card matchup for us imo, so I'm not putting money on it causing me to root against my own interests😅
Do you think Denver is going to win or lose?

Why would I do that? I'm not in the habit of wagering against my own interests😅
Because you think they are going to lose. So either way you make out.

each team was doing everything they could to hand the game to the other, imo
Okay? So all of a sudden Denver is losing to KC backup players at home with playoffs on the line?

Out of the list of things that concern me right now about the Buffalo Bills … the prospects of playing the Bengals in the WC weekend is not near the top
The Bengals aren't going to make it. KC is resting starters next week and Denver is at home, they should have no reason to lose that game.

Do you think the playoff teams have bad offenses?
No, but if our defense plays decent, 30 points should be enough to win, particularly against KC.

I don't know why this year would be different than upcoming years. We're 12-3 and are scoring 30+ a game. I think our D has injuries and we've played good offenses lately, which makes the defense look worse than it actually is. It has been a top 10 unit most of the year. I think it will rise to the occasion in the playoffs and be pretty good to where if we score 27 - 30 points we'll win.
-
Why are some people saying we may face the Bengals in the first round? The odds are very low that they make it in the playoffs.
Not only do they have to beat Denver and Pitt the next two weeks, they have to hope Denver loses to KC week 18 (KC will probably rest starters for at least a portion of the game), in addition to Indy and Miami losing 1 of their next 2. Indy plays the Giants and Jax (probably the two worst teams in the league) and Miami plays Cleveland and the Jets. I would be shocked if Cincy gets in.

We'll finish either 14-3 or 13-4, depending on if we beat Detroit. The Steelers will lose at least one more game since they have a tough final 4 games (@PHI, @BAL, KC, CIN). So we'll most likely finish as the 2 seed and play most likely Denver in the first round.
Another thing to think about is that we don't want Baltimore to win the division because then we would play them round 2 as the 2-3 seed matchup. BAL is 2 games back of PIT right now and PIT has the tiebreaker, but if PIT loses their next 2, they'll be tied (not sure who has the tiebreaker at that point). If it came down to getting the 3 seed and playing PIT in the 2nd round at PIT or getting the 2 seed and playing BAL in the 2nd round at home, I'd think I'd rather play PIT at PIT.

Were the bills not supposed to play the games they won? Why not when the bills win their games the fans of the team find these foolish reason to downplay everything?
Would you like them to petition the league to not play the jets and pats in December and ask to play the ravens and chiefs again so that they can get wins that boost their power rankings or something?
the history of the league is filled with good teams beating up bad teams all season.
its not about who or how, its about how many and right now its 8. Hopefully they can get it to 13 and be the number 1 seed
I like your attitude.
I don't know why so many people are like, we need one more offseason to really finish off this roster for a real run. Why? We're 8-2 and when healthy this team can absolutely beat anyone in the playoffs. We almost beat KC last year in the playoffs and when everyone is healthy, this team is better than last year. So why can't we beat them now?

He missed OTAs and Training camp with injuries. None of us are in that locker-room and have no idea how hard someone does or doesnt work. We also have no idea how much of the playbook someone does or doesnt know.
This misnomer that he won a Superbowl in Tampa and KC is nonsense. He didnt start on the Tampa Bay team that won the Superbowl and has only ever been a full time starter once in his career.
I cannot believe how hard some of you guys are getting your panties in a bunch over Mike Frickin Edwards.
This.

On offense, it could have been argued we were one player (a receiver) away.
I don’t think we can make the same argument on defense. Further, trading for players mid season seldom works, especially when you have basically zero cap flexibility to make the trades work. We’d wind up paying out the nose for anyone good enough to justify a trade in order to have the relinquishing team eat their salary.
This season has exposed bigger picture issues with our defense imo. We’re built to defend the pass. This worked well with offenses trending more to 11 personnel, throwing more from spread, etc. Offenses are now countering this type of defense with more run based schemes.
What does that mean for the future of our cover 2 zone? Can it be fixed with more bulk interior DL? Do we need bigger LBers and/or safeties that have more freedom to patrol LOS? Do we need DBs with better man skills? Is McD playing dead and saving actual scheme adjustments for playoffs?
I just don’t think we know enough yet to justify spending what it would take to bring in a difference making along the line, and if I had to guess, even someone like Myles Garrett (who would definitely help) wouldn’t be enough to lift this ill-matched defensive unit to a point of real contention.
This was always going to be a transition year. Unless, Mahomes, Lamar, and Goff all go down, it’s very likely going to still be a transition year regardless of what we do.
We're 7-2 and its a transition year? What is going on here? We can be as good as anyone in a one game playoff.

I said over and over that the turnover narrative with Allen was overblown. Some of it is luck, some of it is dropped passes into defenders hands, but his play isn't indicative of 22 turnovers. And now you are seeing that course correction with ZERO interceptions and 2 fumbles in 7 games. The zero interceptions is impressive. I know there were a few that were dropped, but that applies to every QB.

I think McDermott is just saying that so that it doesn't give off the impression that Cooper is the savior of the season. That makes it seem like the players that are here don't matter as much. I'm fine with what he said.

I know this is off topic from Cooper, but am I the only one that thinks Hollins has been decent? He has 2 TDs, he has draw a couple PI calls, is good at run blocking and ST. He has definitely made an impact at points in most of the games.

The game is not even 15 minutes over and we're already saying stuff like this? Even if its true, enjoy the win for a bit, geez.
