  1. Cook isn't getting $15m from anyone...period

I wouldn't pay him at all, let him walk after the season

Draft his replacement in mid-rounds this year

Yes, this year...it's a really deep class, you could potentially get a normal 2nd/3rd round graded guy in the 4th, that's value drafting regardless of position

I'd argue it is even MORE important with premium picks. Best player available at a premium position IMO, with the exception of Quarterback if you have a Quarterback who is proven and under 35/36.

That's a theory that works great on paper, but just not sure it works in reality.

No team drafts that way, that being the care in reality means more to me than theories.

I'd argue up and down for that philosophy if certain conditions existed.

    Full Rebuild

No Holes on roster today or next few years coming

    Draft was before free agency

That's not where we are though, we are trying to patch holes for today and tomorrow

Give me BPA at Edge, IDL (1tech), CB, WR (Z capable) with those premium picks this year.

1-tech isn't considered a premium position, but that is a major weakness of this team, this year and even more in the future, going to have to address it early in this draft or end up over paying someone in FA...

I'd rather overspend draft capital on that position right now than cap space in future

  3. BPA is not to be taken literally, as best player available in the draft (you couldn't get 10 people to all to agree on 1 guy being that anyways (consensus isn't real in subjective matters)

Nobody is taking BPA across all positions, nobody...period

Taking BPA is means taking the guy who is on top of our board right now (this would be for position they feel are a need in that area)

caveat being that could change later in the draft and you have a player graded much higher than everyone else on your board and you take him, even if he's not a position of need as nothing is completely black and white, and you get to a point where value added is greater to just take that type of guy

You aren't doing that with premium picks

    Morning coffee at 10:00?

    What are you, a banker ? - )

     I wish!

I don't get to sit down at my desk until 9:30-10,  by the time I get the kids up and dropped off at different schools, drive to work, check the status of the staff in warehouse and office, put out any fires. Then I sit and start checking e-mails and have my coffee.

    3hours into my day, lol

I know I'm late to the party but I am interested! Might be relegated to the TBD "UFL" league at this point 😂

    This made me think...

First I started with, relegation in fantasy sports, that would be awesome, but impossible, end up with duplicate and triplicate players or would that be awesome?

Then, I went imagine, team stayed and owners got pushed around

Of course that led to, they should do that in real life...Sabres suck, guess what Terry, you know don't own the Sabres, you own the Rochester Americans...

Nobody is tanking with that penalty

***yes, I know this is all ridiculous, let me enjoy my morning coffee

Unfortunately, I don't think Beane is particularly keen on handing out a $30 million receiver contract right after he just got out of the Diggs contract, and I also think he's happy with the current WR room.

I'm not certain it was clearly getting out of a $30m WR contract versus getting value before you cut a 30yr old WR about to need a 3rd contract

    25yr old getting 2nd contract at 25-30m isn't the same risk/issue

  7. 1. Doug Flutie - the love affair people had for him because he was short, will never make sense to me

    2.  Sammy Watkins -  single handedly has ruined this fanbases appetite for trading up (good and bad really)

    3. Vontae Davis - have some damn respect for the team and quit on Monday

    4. Kyle Orton - sliding on 4th down behind the stick...are you kidding me right now

  8. I think for them to get up into the top-10. they would need to make two trades

First into the teens and then up to the top-10

If that was going to be the case, I don't think it's happening at the draft table

We'll know of the first move before then and they'd still need to be okay drafting someone in the teens at the cost they gave up, if the other deal fell through which is most likely draft day dependent on the board

I don't agree with this at all. Dawkins is inarguably our most important OL. I think center is the least important position on the OL. As long as they are capable and can snap the ball reliably, and you have a vet QB that can set his own protections, I just don't see it as a difficult position to fill. I'd much rather have two stalwart guards than a stalwart center.

I'm not sure this applies in 2024 that LT is most important OL position, it used to be for sure when QB's where far less mobile and stayed in pocket.

The game has evolved quite a bit, evading a quick beat off the edge is far easier than one up the middle

With how much shotgun Allen prefers to be in, his blind side isn't as open as a straight drop back.

Elite offenses/QB's seem to have a high level center was more often than not as well over the past 20 years
