  1. Mike Vick went to prison because he was stupid enough to finance (and basically own) a company whose sole source of income was through illegal means.

killing dogs may not nessasaraly be illegal, however torturing a dog IS illegal. Training a dog to fight and locking them into a confined space with another dog trained to fight, and then watching them injure and kill eachother is generally consitered a form of torture.

This story is big for the following reasons:

    - Vick was a face of the NFL and known world wide.

    - Vick personally killed/tortured animals. He wasnt just sending checks to people, he was participating in the torture and deaths of animals.

    - Many people find abusing animals (dogs in particular) to be worse than abusing people. for example, several NFL players have been acused of domestic violence with little mention of it on ESPN.

    - Vick was/is rich. People LOVE to see rich people lose their money.

So what he did was bad, and made "THAT bad" by his fame and peoples love for dogs.

There is to much anger agenst him to make him your #1 QB and put his face on a billboard with your teams logo on it. Hes a QB, not a WR or RB. All other positions have backups who participate on the field for atleast a few plays a game. Noone would sign him as a back up and take the heat for a guy who would realistically get no time on the field. So I dont see him playing in the NFL until the public opinion of him changes somehow.

  2. He definatly got in to the Probowl based on his name, rather than his performance. That said, quality OTs are hard to find, and when you do find them, they are expensive. If we do not pay him, then we need to replace him, which would invlove eather putting in a less tallented player at that position, or finding a new high priced OT who we would have to pay anyways.

All I know is that I dont want him to sit at home every day untill the saturday before week 1. He simply sucked for the first 1/4 of last season, but did eventually get better as the season went on, at the expense of our QB ^_^ .

Pay him, and sign a damn good center and I will like our O-ling going into next season. Though RG is still a problem, but would cost to much to fix.

  3. The bills definatly need a TE. But with the Oklahoma TE not entering the draft, no other TE is worthy of a 1st rounder, much less one as high as ours.

Looks like we will have to suffer another year without a TE.

Most likly the bills will draft a DE in the 1st.

But the bills HAVE to sign a FA center, and determin if Crowell is healthy enough to play like he was playing before the injury.

  4. Stroud is a beast and the reason our run D has stepped up. That said, I have noticed that K. Williams making plays and tackles along that line. I believe he was the one who pressured Rivers to throw that INT in the endzone last week, and I remember a number of running plays where he made teh tackle along the line.

Great to see our DTs getting some good attention for a change. That hasnt happened since the other Williams left a number of years ago.

  5. He doesnt have record breaking passing yards or TDs. If the bills win the division and only lose 3 or so games and keeps up his great passing completion and 4th quarter play, he should get in.

though if Favre wins 8 games he is a lock. And Cutler is putting up crazy numbers.

  6. I was born in 1981. My earliest memories of the Bills was watching the first SB game agents the Cowboys.

All I really remember from that game, other than us losing, was me saying out loud, "why doesnt someone just walk over and hit their QB after a play? Its only one penalty...". My parents didnt really like that at all...

  7. You defiantly can not blame JP for this loss. He played better than anyone could expect a backup QB to play in that situation.

We did see why Edwards is the starter, with JPs slow progression, but I would love to keep JP as the backup next year (though that just wont happen).

The bills inability to stop the Cards on 3rd down lost this game. Maybe if edwards was in the game the bills may have been able to keep up with the cards offence, but I dout it.

The D just plain sucked. We did well agenst the run, but the cards just passed over and over. It was obvious throughout the game the defense would just drop back and wait for an INT. But our front 4 could not put ANY pressure on Warner. He even tripped in the endzone and had enough time to get up and throw the ball away. Warner will throw INTs, but vet NFL QBs who get that much time make plays. We busted Warners jaw open, but stopped blitzing after that. We didnt even discise it.

This loss is completly on our D.

On the bright side, when is the last time we got our first loss of the season in week 5? I think I may have been 13 at the time.

  8. "You got to be a stupid mother!@#$er to get fired on your day off." -Friday

so he misses 1 game, agenst the seahawlks, who they will crush comming off thier bye week. no big deal. Dont players go home for a few days on their bye week anyway? its like my boss suspending me on friday afternoon for 2 days, and expects me to return on monday. no big deal for the team or the player. The team just wanted to prove a point.

  9. I have watched all the episodes so far. The first show seemed a bit cheesy, but interesting. I expect a lot from HBO. IMO, the first few shows are not on par with the likes of the Sopranos, the Wire, deadwood, Entourage, or even Big Love.

They have a built in audience for vampires, but with that comes high expectations for a quality show.

I like it so far, but they defiantly need to tone down the overly cheesy things.

  10. I actually think this will help the rams. A new QB means that we wont have any current film on their starting QB. also, the rams were probubly the 2nd worst team in the NFL, with bulger at QB. a new QB could give them enough of a spark to pull off a surprise win.

    T. Green could be looking to make a mark for himslef like Warner is doing in Arizona.

The bills will still be favored to win, but for a team like the rams, any change is a good change for them (and bad for us).

  11. nice list. It is hard to set the top few teams because the chargers are so much better than their record, and the broncos should not have won a few of thier games. my top 5 would be:

    1) Pit (even though they lost ugly)

    2) Chargers

    3) Denver

    4) Titans (thier D is solid, and Collins is playing like a franchise QB)

    5) Bills

after that I agree with your list, with the exception that I would put the raiders above the ravens at #9. The raiders cant pass and will fire their coach some time, but thier D is solid and thier running game is one of the best (when they dont slip and fall down after 3 yards over and over again like they did on sunday.

  12. I dont think so. There were other positions we needed at that time, but the skill and ability of the best remaining players at those positions wasnt that great.

Youbooty has vastly improved. I thaught he was a bum last year, and probubly part of the reason we sucked agenst the run. Now he looks great.

If Greer can just learn that pass defense invloves more than just diving and sticking one arm in the air, then we would have a pair of nice young CBs.

  13. Phili looked like a SB contender on MNF. I know they lost but in my mind, if they play great agenst a great team and lose by a very small margin, then they shouldnt fall that far at all.

Same goes for the Chargers. They basically won the game, but got a L because of a bad call. I would put both above the bills.

Though I LOVE seeing the bills listed so high.

  14. The need another level of IR....8 week IR or something like that. Poz comes to mind.

    R. Williams broke his arm on monday night. They are saying he will mis 3-4 weeks.

Poz broke his arm in week 3 and he was put on IR and done for the season.

    I think I missed something.

  15. I would have thaught the same thing, if the redskins (one of the worst teams in the NFL) didnt beat the Saints (one of the better teams in the NFL) this weekend.

Anything can happen. You dont know if the Raiders will rally around whoever their new HC is, or if their D will step up and back their Coordinator. Anything can happen.

I am very happy to be 2-0, but one or two plays here or there and it could be a completly diffrent story. One game at a time.

  16. If lynch can do it, I would like to see him on the field for all 3 downs. I have no problem giving him a breather from time to time, especially if he gets as many carries as he did last season. I just dont like the idea of "3rd down backs" comming in on every obvious passing down. I think lynch can catch just fine.

  17. We all think he is due a raise. But it seems he wont even put on a bills uniform untill the first regular season game, if then. The offensive line requires a lot of time to really get it together.

He is definatly hurting the team, his image, and his ability to play in the first few games of the season.

The bills made it clear they want to sign Evans (who could be a FA after this season) and Crowell first.

Peters is a Probowl LT, he will get paid, if hes healthy, but at some point you have to suck it up and play for the contract you signed just a few years ago.
