In an unsolved murder case. I think it was in SI, but an amazing story about the case. If you're interested you should look it up. Might give you a different view of Lewis. It's quite likely Lewis knows who committed the crime.

But to your point, you think Lewis shouldn't be, for lack of a better word, blackballed, because of this incident, while many feel Kaep is being blackballed for a much lesser one.

He'll be forgiven for raping/assaulting women, Kaep won't for kneeling/protesting.

You are so busy being outraged that he's not in the league that you are ignoring the fact that he sucks at football.  Once again; He lost his job to BLAINE ****ING GABBERT.  He didn't even get beat out by a halfway decent quarterback.  The dude sucks.  Get over it.

So why do so many other useless QB's still have a job?  And Kaeps final season was statistically, very good, on a crappy team.

Do you honestly believe that if Kaep did well in the XFL , he would get a shot in the NFL?

If he's an above average NFL QB like people are saying he would be dominating the XFL.  If he were dominating the XFL, somebody would give him a shot.  Look at Duke Williams.   Went and dominated the CFL, suddenly he's on an NFL roster.

Such and tired and lazy argument.

Since Lewis, or any other player, is great at their job, it should excuse their crimes and make them credible? Jesus

I don't know why he would lie, maybe he is just mistaken.  Has the Raven's owner ever confirmed the story, i haven't found anything. I don't know the answer about Seattle either. They obviously feel he's an or was at the time and quality NFL QB, maybe they didn't want to deal with the whole situation.

It's not a lazy argument to point out the fact that owners will weigh a players ability into the decision on whether or not a guy is worth keeping.  If a udfa is caught drunk driving you can bet he will be cut.  If your starting quarterback is in the same situation you keep him.  If a good player makes noise about his cause and does what Kaepernick did nobody cares but since hes likely a backup at best it's not worth the distraction.

Kaepernick was recruited for XFL and CFL but turned them down because he is not willing to be paid what he's worth on the field.  Hes not on a team because he is not good enough to offset his distractions.  Just like Ramsay is worth multiple firsts and millions of dollars despite his constant ***** talking.  Hes good enough for it to be worth keeping him.

It all comes down to the fact that Kaepernick simply is not a good quarterback.  If he was hed be playing.

Unfortunately there is no fact checker - all we have is opinion and conjecture based upon half-truths and innuendo.

He wasn't top half of the league.  He lost his job to Blaine ***** Gabbert.

You're taking the word of a person guilty of obstruction of justice in a still unsolved murder, a person who disposed of the suit he was wearing the night of the murder and nobody knows what happened to it. He likely knows who the murderer is, yet somehow, he has credibility.  The Ray Lewis story is to me, the most bizarre one in the NFL in years. How people ignored his actions in this murder is shocking.

Ray Lewis was great at his job.  Kaepernick isnt.  Theres no comparison to make there.  Use a realistic comparison or dont bother.  If Kaepernick was serious about playing football hed play in the CFL or XFL.  Hes not though hes just using the situation to make money for doing nothing and to bring attention to his cause.

Some owners might have personal vendettas against the guy due to their beliefs regarding his stances.  But I believe that, for most owners, it boils down to one MAJOR issue.  If you hire the guy to play quarterback, you are immediately alienating half your fan base.  From a pure business sense, it would be absolutely stupid to sign the guy to a contract.

    He's just too polarizing

Is it the half of the fanbase that wants a good qb?  Because if so I agree.  This whole kneeling drama is bull#### and shouldn't matter.  Its performance that counts, and hes simply not a good qb.  If it weren't for the drama he might be a backup for a bad team, but I dont think hed even be a starter in Miami right now.

The Rams obviously got into a bidding war, then foolishly OVERPAID...

I would choke the life out of Brandon Beane  if he did this...

One of the worst traded in history, IMO

    ..

It could be an overreaction to the sheer number of points they gave up a few weeks ago to Tampa bay.

  7. The league needs to do a better job holding the refs responsible for bad games/calls.  People say that bad refs don't get playoff games but that's bull####.  Bad refs shouldn't get any games.  If I was as bad at my job as some of these refs are my ass would be fired.

Replay is showing us how bad the problem really is.  Getting rid of it is like saying that pharmaceutical companies are getting caught selling tainted drugs, and the FDA is calling them on it.  Without the FDA it would be harder to catch.  Let's get rid of the FDA.  That's clearly the problem.

Diggs' stats are pretty unimpressive to me.

He's played a full season, never.

    He's gotten 1000+ yards once.

He had 24 TDs in his first four years, combined.

I am TOTALLY in the "we need one more SOLID receiver," camp.  I'm not sure Stefon Diggs is worth $14 million/year, though.  And I'm in the HELL NO camp when it comes to Green.  Not sure how much of an impact an aging, injury prone WR is gonna make in the 5 (tops) games he actually plays in.

I honestly don't know what WRs are available at the moment, but if Diggs and Green are the best two .... I'd rather roll with who we've got.

Watkins got 14 million per year with less production and more time injured.  Chiefs fans dont seem to mind.

Interesting - 83.5% say he should be on a team in the league, which means that he is at least one of the top 64 QBs.

However, when confronted with a situation where poll takers have a need on "their" team (theoretically Bills need to pick up the 65th best QB), 67% say "not for my team".

Those answers contradict each other. If he's good enough to be in the league and if your team is all about acquiring the best players available, then 83.5% should have responded sign him for the Bills scenario.

The first question is should he be ALLOWED to play.  To that question, sure he shouldn't be banned.  The second question is do you want him on your team people say no because he simply isn't a good quarterback and has probably been out of the game for too long.  If he was serious about playing and was any good wouldn't he be lighting up the CFL?

  10. It wasn't a crown hit and it looked to be incidental contact due to the collision/angle in real time.  In slow motion replay you can see earlier contact.  I dont think it can be considered leading with his head though that was the initial contact point.  With the NFL these days you never know.  Its probably a coin flip TBH.
