  1. You can't be serious. The guy was our MVP last year. He is a big reason our special teams is so great. 3-time state champion in track and he finished third in the NFL skills obstacle course against your so called "football players." He's not just a punter, he is redefining the punting position baby.

Plus, he's a rock solid holder for Lindell.

  2. If the Bills ever moved to another city like LA, I would just as soon see them change their name. LA Bills just doesn't seem right.

It should be the Baltimore Colts, not Ravens

It should be the St. Louis Cardinals, not Rams

Arizona and Indianapolis should have been allowed to name the team something different. New city, new identity.

If the Bills ever left Buffalo, I would find it hard to chear for the LA Bills. Cleveland got it right when Modell moved the Browns. He wasn't allowed to take the name with him.

  3. Enough with talk of things like coaches and the draft.  Let's get a petition together with the fans' preference for the Bills' future uniforms.  I'll continue to bump this along throughout the offseason, or perhaps it can be pinned.  If there is a strong consensus for one particular uniform, maybe the Bills will listen.

I think that the Jills should get uniforms like in Rayzer32's avitar. Need new Jills first though.

  4. The discussion here is as fact based as the Administration's claim that Iraq had WMD.  Think about the logic.

Someone says Ralph is cheap, ergo every decision made is based on money.  We hire bad coaches because they are cheap.  Bob Matthews writes that why not hire Martz instead of Fairchild..because Ralph is cheap of course.

First, I have seen no data on what anyone is being paid.  So like WMD, no one has any facts.  For all I know DJ is getting $3M a year. So all the talk about dollars is simply speculation.

Second, did anyone ever think that a guy like Martz might not fit into what Levy is trying to build here-- a high character team with coaches who are good teachers and an organization who treats its employees like family in a tough world, not just as a piece of meat.  Look at the hires we have as coaches so far, good people, good teachers. Maybe, just maybe, that's why they are being hired--good coaches, good people, good team players.

Third, the hires are not scrubs.  Koller turned down NO to come here, by accounts Fairchild turned down the Jets. Fairchild was tutored under Martz who, like him or not, is a recognized excellent offensive mind.

People have to get over their obsession with money.  It's not yours to begin with--if you want to spend millions on coaches then go get a job, earn a lot of money and buy a football team and overpay for names.  But it does not mean that the Bills--Levy in particular-- don't have plan.  And Levy, like Churchill, is going to stick to that plan, whiny critics who really know nothing about football be damned.

Maybe the Bills should have raised ticket prices to match the NFL average, or maybe even above the NFL average. That way, with the exta money, we could afford "better" coaches. Oh wait.... we'd complain about that too.

  5. I think Sherman would be ideal if is willing to come in with less-than-GM authority.

Sherman would be my pick. Levy is only going to have the GM job for a couple of years anyways. Maybe Sherman would come with the understanding that he'd get the job once Levy retires (assuming Sherman is still around).

Sherman's my choice, although Haslett is probably going to get it.

  6. Comments made about Mularkey by vets like Troy Vincent fly in the face of that assertion.  I think we as fans assume much too much, without knowing what really happens behind the scenes.

Case in point -- it seems to be leaking out now that Donahoe was much more of a control freak and coach wannabe than he let on to the public.  If Mularkey's hands were tied much of the time and he could not publicly lay blame on his boss, some of his actions that looked strange or indecisive to us may have not really been his fault.

I'm only speculating, but with Marv joining the organization I'm willing to give Mularkey the benefit of the doubt and see what happens in '06.

That's what I'm thinking also. Maybe the problem was TD and now MM will be able to coach and handle the team the way he wants to, and not the way TD wants to.

Also, if everyone thinks Buffalso is the joke of the NFL, what decent coach would want to come here when there are a half dozen other vancancies? I say that keeping MM is the right thing to do.
