  1. I think the Cousins comparisons are real and I believe NFL GMs are high on this guy. He is not going to get past day 2 IMO.

If I am a QB needy team, I think he has the tools that I could groom into an above average passing QB with 1-2 years development time and I agree he doesn't make it past day 2.

  2. That kid will not be a starting NFL QB unless Lord Whaley decides to assemble a remake of EJ/Thad/Tuel, Peterman could win that competition by default. I don't know if it's because the offense he was in but any mention of this kid seems like such a reach.

If you work on his timing and foot work with the accuracy he has, he could make a solid west coast QB. He also has good pocket presence which can translate into better reads.
  3. You people are too worried about what they did in college rather then looking at the upside in the pros. Brady lost his job to Stanton at one point and it didn't mean Stanton became the better player in the NFL. Not that I am saying Peterman is Brady, but the Dobbs argument is just stupid.

  4. I absolutely love Nate Peterman but the 2nd round is way way too early...maybe 3rd round if qbs start flying off the board but no way at 44. I like him over Webb & Kizer but Mahomes, Watson and Trubisky are clearly ahead of Peterman. I think Peterman would make an excellent plug not play backup....much more polished than guys like ej and cardale...he's more like a 4th round guy and we're still lacking a 4th pick....

if a guy pans out, where he was taken isn't as important as who took him. If he is a legitimate passing QB, do you want to look back and see a team in the early 3rd or late 2nd round take him just because the "value" wasn't right on draft day?
  5. Because when you strike gold on a QB then paying them that second contract isn't a question. Newsflash: we didn't strike gold on Tyrod. There was a lot of debate and we have a team friendly contract with him.

You will never get a franchise QB if you don't try to get one.

So you can't take a DB in round and then find a QB later?
  6. This is an incredibly shallow approach to the greater problem. Yes, it will be cheaper to pay a rookie...until their contract is up. Then we will release them and draft another. It's like leasing a car versus owning one outright. Teams like the Patriots might be able to afford this luxury, but we need to be buying our cheaper cars outright and working hard at trying to get a franchise QB.

Drafting a CB in the first after releasing Gilmore is a fundamental error. If you want to break the cycle, then just release Gilmore. To release him and replace with a coveted top 10 pick is the antithesis of building a roster.

But why draft a QB when you are paying Tyrod as a starter. Yes, it will be cheaper to pay a rookie...until their contract is up. Then we will release them and draft another. It's like leasing a car versus owning one outright.
  7. It will take major currency to move him out of Seattle. A high 1st round pick gets the conversation started, it would take more than that.

You just aren't going to get premier, established all pro caliber players for chump change, especially the best corner in the game. Dude is an elite player and has proven so for several years.

I don't think it's really a possibility, just typical time killing "stories" we see in the dead of the NFL offseason.

Non QB players depreciate like cars.
  8. He threw well at the combine. His footwork is better than most of the guys as well because he played in a Pro Style offense. He's a gamer. Will stand tall in the pocket, wait till the last second to get an accurate pass off because the play calls for it, and take the hit he knows is coming. He doesn't seem to get rattled. I like the guy as a prospect.

I like him as a developmental prospect who can thrive as a game manager with a good line and a running game.
