  1. I would agree, its best for him to retire. Young enough to still walk away, made more than enough money, but will get paid well to be in the booth.

I agree. Not sure which article it was that I read a couple days ago, but it stated that Romo has made over 125 million off of his football contracts. Thats not including endorsements or anything else. Not bad for what, 15 years worth of work, eh?

  2. If the Browns are willing to give up pick #12 and a 2nd rounder, then they can get up well above 10 for that. That's the big issue with that trade.

Here's a good, interactive version of the standard draft chart:

    Thanks for the link

Either way my point is if they feel that they can get a once in a generation type QB outta the deal, have no other trade partners available and theres a good chance that they could miss out, then in the grand scheme of things what would it hurt for them to trade a 2nd? I mean they have what, like 3 of em?

  3. I can't see the Browns paying two picks one being a 2nd to just jump over 11.

If they feel that their franchise altering quarterback is said pick, and they could lose him, i doubt they would risk it over a 2nd round pick.

  4. Lots of speculation and far to many variables for even 5% of this scenario to have actually taken place. I am having a hard time trying to come up with a decent reply that could actually contribute to this thread.

Now with that said, it is the offseason and there isnt much going on. This was actually a really fun topic that could generate some off the wall discussion that could go a million different ways. I definitely have to give you credit for doing the research and putting in alot of work on your thread. It was an entertaining read and I will check back later to see what else has been contributed to the discussion.

  5. I also found the article informative

I can't disagree DW has done a great job with our cap

Though I do worry about the quality of talent left versus gained, signing low level depth/starters versus losing more talented starters

And that we've signed more UFA's than have left potentially affecting future draft picks

We do seem to have the money for resigning Brown or getting one more key starter

I agree with your whole post. As far as Brown goes, if you would have asked me a week ago, I wouldnt have had a problem with letting him walk. Now that we are a few days into FA and there arnt many quality starters left at LB, I hope that we are trying or atleast have made an offer to try and retain Browns services.

  6. If we can get him in for under 9 or 10 a year I would be happy. I think he is a decent cb on par with Gilmore. My biggest concern is injury, as history has shown that he is less durable then Gilmore.

Does anyone know what his asking price/value is roughly? Obviously that is the biggest factor on picking him up. Based on past history, I would hope that the deal wouldnt be more then 2-3 years with a low guarentee.

  7. Thanks JM2009. I found the article to be very helpful and full of useful information. My favorite part about belonging to a single MB is the ability to get all of my Bills news in one location... one-stop-shop

I am very impressed with how Whaley mannaged to finess the cap this year so far. It wasnt a month ago that I was quite nervous that we would not be able to sign or retain any quality players.

  8. Yeah, that could go down as one of the stupidest financial moves by a player. Sure, maybe it was time for a change of scenery for both parties but the Niners may have cut or traded him had he not opted out. Not hearing anything about teams being interested in him.

Im sure his decision to opt out of his contract wasnt made on a whim, Im sure his agent did his due diligence and spoke with his league contacts and advised Kap that his services will be wanted elsewhere and to opt out of his contract with the 9ers.

  9. Seems more like depth or possible camp battle depending on who else we bring in. I cant say much about this pick up untill his contract #'s are released, anyone see them yet?

Yea he definitely has a smokin hot old lady!

  10. Love the pick up. Excited to see what Hyde brings to the Bills. I honestly only seen him play a few times, and besides the playoffs he never really caught my attention while watching the game. Which I guess is good & bad. But watching the vids on youtube (im not a douchebag, so i wont call it film or tape, lol) and I really liked what I saw. Seems tough, versatile and I think will be a good asset.

Don't know if this was already covered...But just read this on his Wiki...And in case it's removed I swear it really was there...

"He now is the GOAT DB for the Buffalo Bills and will lead the Bills to their first ever Super Bowl and take over for the clown ass player named Stephon Gilmore."

    Lol this is funny AF

  11. Stevie Johnson was one of my favorite players both on and off the field. How can you not root for the under dog? He was exciting to watch and made some big plays at a time that this offense was severely lacking excitement, explosive plays and overall talent. SJ made the Bills fun to watch.

Off the field Stevie was entertaining. Between his music, fashion, the funny youtube videos and any other interviews and interactions with the media, when he retires from football SJ will have a career in entertainment.

I wouldnt mind bringing him in at a low salary to COMPETE for the 3rd or 4th WR spot to see if he has anything left

I really liked him coming out of college and liked him while in Buffalo but I have to say too many drops and I don't think he has anything left to offer.

    I'd rather have Woods back.

I agree with the last sentence of your post. At this point in their careers, I definitely prefer Robert Woods. I think he is a great WR that is severely underated and under utilized. Unfortunately I think he is gone because of what he will get on the open market.

And about to be replaced with another former Bills WR...

    @4joshreed

Told that #Chargers are interested in #Bills WR Robert Woods. makes sense with ties to A-Lynn. Woods is great run blocker and went to USC

4joshreed was a contributing member of the BBMB who would share good, informative posts like the above tweet. I hope he finds his way over here to TBD? Or I wonder if he is already a member here?

Is this what bb.com was like?

For just about every player that was waived, cut, released there would be two or three "we should sign this player cause I have heard of him" threads... i am definitely going to miss that.
