  1. Maybe I just watch the wrong sports media but I’m blown away by how this has played out.  Every single offseason the national media basically said that Diggs was a malcontent that was causing friction on his team and with his QB.  He’d throw out those famous cryptic tweets and every media outlet would take 30 minutes deciphering how unhappy he was.  His brother flat out trashed his QB and Josh did nothing.

Now Diggs is traded and Josh Allen fed up after 1 loss makes an offhand remark (mind you no one seems to know what Diggs said before that remark) and that’s the whole story now.  The Bills got robbed, Diggs is going to be part of one of the best offenses in the league, he’s suddenly a top 5 WR again.  But man Josh Allen yelled at him ONCE.

Just crazy how it all flipped.

  2. I was a huge Diggs fan while he was here but I’m 100% on board with the trade.

When we got Diggs, the story from the Vikings was the fact that he was a loud mouthed diva.  And when he arrived the Vikings fans looked so wrong.  Then something changed and he knew he couldn’t be a loud mouthed diva twice.  So instead he turned into a passive aggressive cryptic twitter user.

Him not telling his brother to shut up, him posting cryptic nonsense, playing games at training camp.  I’ve always felt it was wrong, and I won’t miss any of it.  I’ll miss the hell out of the fresh faced guy that arrived here and turned into an elite WR while Josh turned into an elite QB.

I have no doubt the Texans are going to get an older version of the same guy we got from the Vikings.  He’s going to give 110%, say the right things, do the right things, and be the best teammate you can ask for.  But you’ll only get that for so long.

  3. Look at it through the eyes of the fans.  Who else on this board hope the Dolphins give Tua a contract and hang onto Mike McDaniel as coach?  All of us?  Why is that?

Who else is a little worried that the Chargers finally fired Staley?  Most of us?  Why?

I guarantee that Chiefs fans would like nothing more than for us to give McDermott a few more years to “figure it out”.

Because much like McDaniels to us….hes harmless to them.  A minor speed bump on their way through the playoffs.

Every chiefs fan in the world hopes we run it back.  Squander another year of Allen

This is nonsense.  Did Brady not have a killer instinct because he killed you 6-7 yards at a time?

Bill Belicheck let Tom Brady be Tom Brady and he surely had killer instinct.  McDermott wants to force our world class QB into a box “because that’s how you win in this league” despite us watching everyone else win in the playoffs in other ways.  With 10 minutes in the NFL is an eternity.  Yet with 10 minutes left in the 4th we decided we were either going to put it all on one drive.  No pressure or anything.

As an FYI Brady would have taken what you gave him.  Whether that was scoring with 8 minutes left or with 4.  Because he trusted his coach and his defense.

It's the methodical ball control mcd offense...it's forces allen and the offense to be absolutely perfect or they end up wasting allot of time and come up empty...this offense approach effectively limits the possessions of its best player to keep the defense closers fresh to never close out a game

Exactly it doesn’t let your QB have a killer instinct.  It applies ALL of the pressure onto Allen.  Instead of trying a 9 minute drive to end the game the Bills should have been playing for the lead and if you’ve got a defensive coach you get that lead then get a defensive stop then you let your all world QB place the dagger.  But the whole game ended up condensing itself down to a single drive where any misstep basically ended up in us losing the game.

That was a complete rebuild. They had McNabb and TO. Then they didn't You wanna move on from Josh?

You’re missing an entire era of Vick, McCoy, and Jackson that Andy Reid oversaw.  Chip Kelly did the tear down.  Andy Reid had as Vince Young would call it….a dream team

for the Eagles to win, they had to cut it all down. New coach, but also all new players including a new QB. it was a studs-out rebuild.

BUT THEY DID IT.  That’s the whole point.  They moved on from a coach who had gotten them to a superbowl and 4 championship games because they felt they hit a wall.

But here we are hitting the same wall EVERY year and we are trying to talk ourselves out of the wall existing

They didn't go right from Reid to Pederson. They had two years of Chip Kelly in between.

The fact remains that Andy Reid wasn’t winning the eagles a Super Bowl.  Someone else did.  Dungy wasn’t winning the Bucs a superbowl but someone else did.

Sometimes people are only meant to take you so far.  Andy Reid was fantastic for the Eagles but eventually when you hit the same brick wall over and over, year after year you start to lose the players and when he lost the players the last couple of years with the eagles were AWFUL.

How many times can we run into the same Chiefs buzzsaw and not lose our players?

    5 years later.

Lol you literally used the worst argument you could have.  Andy Reid was a fantastic coach he did a lot to turn around the Eagles and was light years ahead of McDermott as the Eagles were a staple of the NFC championship game.  But he became stagnant.  His approach wasn’t working, he was losing grip of the team and he was deservingly fired.

    They then WON THE SUPERBOWL.

Ask any Philly fan if they think they made the right decision.

  10. Just now, GASabresIUFan said:

Do you think that is what they said in Philly about Andy Reid?  Do you think thought Reid was the best coach in the NFL when they ran him out of town like the poeple here are attempting to do with McD?

Andy wasn’t the best coach in the NFL when they fired him.  He was stagnant and had hit his ceiling in Philly.  So yes I’m sure it’s exactly what they said.  They got rid of him and won a Super Bowl.

  11. The biggest falsehood is the fact that people will relate Brady vs Manning as Mahomes vs Allen so the narrative is we are just waiting for Allen to break through like Manning did.

But it wasn’t just Brady vs Manning.  It was Belicheck vs Dungy.  And sadly Reid vs McDermott is an unfair fight.

I just read that the Chiefs only had to punt 4 times in their 3 playoff wins against the Bills.

That is clear coaching dominance of Reid over McDermott.

If this is a legit stat that is insane.  Made only even more insane by the fact that this team has been built via the draft and free agency to beat the Chiefs.  Not the Dolphins, Ravens, Bengals, etc.  We consistently build towards knocking off this team

  13. To anyone who watched Hard Knocks you’d know how doomed the Dolphins felt when they face the Bills.  Even with two early turnovers they never had it.

I can only imagine what this Bills team will feel like any time they play the Chiefs again when it matters.

There needs to be a change

  14. Tony Dungy will be a HOF coach and he got fired in order for the Bucs to win a SB.  Hell even Andy Reid was fired when he hit his ceiling in Philly.

McDermott has done some fantastic things for this team and its culture but if you can fire those guys you can certainly fire him.

IMHO there has been a disconnect between our GM and HC for a long time and it has only made things even more complicated.  Beane has drafted players and brought in free agents that McDermott refuses to put on the field or he claims are unable to be coached up.  But we’ll call up John Brown, Cole Beasley, and AJ Klein off their couches to start.  Why do we spend so much on Harty to return kicks?  What was the point of Hines?  Spent money on Ford who never sees the field.  Resigned Knox for good TE money when we didn’t use TEs then we draft one anyways.

I feel like we have hit our ceiling under this current coaching staff.

  15. I will forever be thankful and grateful for what McDermott helped create here in Buffalo.  But I’m so tired of being outcoached in the playoffs.

I feel like winning relies so heavily on Josh Allen magic and never scheme.

I get that we have been short handed almost criminally short handed.  But when your specialty is defense and you can only force 1 punt a game I just worry that we’ve hit the ceiling with what we have.

  16. There were a million reasons why we lost this game.  And Josh willed this team to get as close to victory as we did.  Diggs drop, Sherfield drop, bad 1st down playcalling, defensive struggles, missed kick, etc.

But nothing will sit with me more from this game than the throw to Shakir in the end zone with a wide open Diggs streaking underneath.  Even if we hit that pass and take the lead, you give the chiefs 1:40 and two TOs against a defense that hasn’t really stopped them.  The Diggs pass runs the clock, shortens the kick if needed, but most importantly moves the chains.

    Totally heartbroken…
