  1. Is it a foregone conclusion that everyone ultimately wants to be a head coach?

Guy is from Buffalo, has 6 kids and a family, could get a new contract with job security, loves Josh and the team. McBean and this ownership group is as stable as it gets for him. For those with a young family, thats important.

Hes already got the perfect job. Not everyone wants to risk moving their family to a new city for a job with a potentially high failure/turnover rate. Not everyone wants the headache of managing a team/head coach responsibility. If the guy loves offense and football, he might be destined to stay a coordinator and thats fine.

This seems odd: most pro players who have a scope to fix a meniscus are typically our for four weeks or so. Three to four months is more typical of one of us dealing with this.

    Theres two options here:

    Trim: Quick recovery

    Repair: IR and long recovery.

Clearly hes going for a repair and not a trim. Reasonable as he is early on in his career.

Who he was in college looks like who he is in the pros.  A guy who misses a lot of kicks.

I keep seeing the argument that "he's just a rookie, he's still learning. He will get better!".   Does he need more time with the playbook?!?!  Is our place kicking scheme more complicated than the one he ran in college?  Is the pro kicking game faster than college?  Seriously, is anything different between kicking in the NFL vs. the NCAA?  He misses first quarter thirty yarders with no fans in the stands.  A lower pressure kick, there is not.

There is nothing left to learn.  You kick the ball between the sticks or you find another job.  I cannot think of one example of a kicker who looks like a basket case as a rookie who ever turns it around.

To the Bass apologists, do you trust him with the game on the line?  I sure as hell do not.

Kickers are a different breed. sometimes who you are in college won't be the same:

Kicking everywhere has been odd this year. Harrison Butker missing extra points, Gostkowski had a horrible week 1 and then missed the game tying kick yesterday.

Agree I wish we had a Tucker level kicker but I think we gotta ride with the kid to see what hes got at this point.

Endoscopy is the throat I believe.  @PirateHookerMD might know for sure.

Endoscopy is a generic term used to describe the act of using a flexible high definition scope/camera to look inside you. There are many different endoscopic procedures, the most common in my world are EGD and Colonoscopy. Pulmonologists (lung doctors) do bronchoscopy, ENT does laryngoscopy, etc. All of these are types of endoscopy.

EGD is sometimes called "upper" endoscopy, and technically is an esophagogastroduodenscopy. This is a fancy way of saying we make you sleepy, go through the mouth,  and look at your esophagus, stomach and duodenum (first part of your small intestine).

"Lower" endoscopy is colonoscopy. While the prep is not the best, colonoscopy saves lives and the procedure itself is not a big deal. If you are due for colon cancer screening just get it done :)

  5. Brian Gaine might have some advice for him on that organization...

Let's not all assume he is itching to get out of here. He is from Buffalo, winning, on a stacked offense with a team that will be good for a long time. Head coaching is a pain in the ass grind. Maybe he gets a raise and stays around? If you had a young family would you want to move everyone for a job you could be fired in 2-5 years if you've already got a job you love?
