  1.

Let's give it a go (minimum 10 games started):

CB : Reggie Corner, Ashton Youboty (or maybe McGee .. I never loved McGee)

SS : Coy Wire started 16 games in 2002

At QB can we please please please have JP or Trent? They were such an iconic representation of how terrible those teams were.

Van Pelt was never meant to be a starter, he just filled in because no one else could. JP and Trent ruined lives.

  2. Guess I caused a stir with that comment.

Rex has nothing to do with personnel. That was Whaley. In fact, Rex has nothing to do with the offense at all. He will let Roman run things on offense and Rex will run the defense. That's how Rex has always done things. Rex has done nothing as of yet except give some speeches

The original poster said "Rex is here, he brought some great talent" ... so argue with him, not me.

  3. What do the Da'Rick supporters want?

    You want Marrone to resign?

    No

    Whaley to apologize to Rogers?

    Hell No

You want a public statement assuming complete responsibility for cutting a player that has gone on to catch a few passes from Andrew Luck?

.. .. I'd settle for some short under his breath statement from Marrone saying Da'Rick may be better than he thought.

You want the GM to state that "Because of the Da'Rick situation, were are re-evaluating all aspects of the way we evaluate talent"?

I hope that the GM had no say at all in Da'Rick getting cut. Coaches better be able to keep/cut the players they think can win the most games.

    What do you want?

I want everyone from here on forth and forever to stop saying the words "character issues" and "Da'Rick Rogers" in the same sentence. Unless of course Da'Rick does something in his NFL career that were to indicate he has anything even close to resembling character issues. I want the world to stop stringing this guy up as some sort of hellboy trouble-maker because he smoked a little weed as a kid in his second year of college. If anyone ever brings up his failed drug tests they must immediately acknowledge the two years straight after that where he passed every single drug test.

  4. With all due respect, 26, that is absurd. Marrone and staff have commitments to the short view, middle view, AND long view. But none of that mattered in Rogers' case. He failed to make the team. Perhaps Rogers should have had more appreciation for his own short term.

You seem to be blaming Rogers getting cut on Da'Rick Rogers himself.

The rest of us are blaming it on the coaches. We are saying the coaches made the mistake. Marrone, Hackett, and Hilliard are the guys who screwed up, not Da'Rick Rogers.

  5. Don't know if anyone posted this already but Marrone getting rid of talented players is nothing new. He preached accountability at Syracuse as well. He booted his best WR (TB'S Mike Williams) during the season because he kept making poor choices. He was a proven college receiver that was a finalist for the Belitnikoff. It looks like he practices what he preaches (Crossman excluded pending reports to the contrary).

But Da'Rick didn't actually do anything wrong while he was on the Bills rosters.

Would be stupid to punish a guy for things he did several years ago, in college, on a different team.

  6. I GOT IT.... Marrone relies on his assistants for input on personel to keep on the roster, Hilliard tells him Rogers won't amount to anything and they cut him. Fast forward to the last part of the season when Marrone realizes that Rogers is a future HOFer and that is why Hilliard was let go!

    BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!

I hope that is the case. I really do. That would give me hope that Marrone can really be the coach that turns this team around. It would mean he saw a mistake and fixed in within 1 season.

  7. Rogers is a rookie who was troubled in college.

I guess .. "troubled in college" is the non-nuanced mindset that annoys me. When inspected closely, he really didn't do much that should effect his ability to catch a pass or score a TD. He smoked a little weed (which is no worse than drinking beer).

Marrone had all training camp and preseason to evaluate Rogers vs Hogan vs Graham. Marrone chose wrong. Hogan and Graham will be lucky to be in the NFL in 2 seasons. Rogers is already making a name for himself.
