You lost me at Cutler. The guy is not a winner or a leader. These are the type of guys we don't need in the locker room. I'd take Tyrod any day over him. Im not saying TT is the long term answer but he gives us a chance to win now while grooming Cardalle or another young QB we get through the draft

Ok thought is was a "fairy tail" type article. Maybe I'm just being gullible but sure seems he should of made it more clear or prefaced with an opening paragraph this is what he wished TP would do.

Can someone please shed some light on this article? I'm guessing by the title and content this didn't really happen or it would of been a much bigger deal. I'm guessing this is what Schopp is wishing what would happen, but it's not made clear in the article and he uses quotes from Terry?!?? Anyway, very strange.

No way he gets the job. Only reason they're bringing him in is to find out what went wrong in BLo so they don't make same mistakes
-
I really hope not. Think he's way overrated and will be a problem off the field.
-
So Olsen's average time with a team is like 1 1/2 years? No thanks
-
These so-called lazy players are mostly a result of Rex running way too loose of a ship and not holding players accountable
-
All I have to say is if it wasn't for the Pegulas, we wouldn't have a team. They are hands on owners because they truly care and want nothing more than to bring a winner to Buffalo. They're doing the absolute best job they can and fully admit that they've made some mistakes but will learn from them. It's not like they've been cheap owners and aren't providing all the financial resources either. You can argue that some of the money hasn't been well spent, but they are certainly giving it their best shot. I never understand all the criticism they get. They've basically saved the city and feel they deserve more respect than they get from the fans and media.

1. Sign TT
2. Bring in a coach who the players buy into and play hard for. A leader that will oversee all 3 phases and let the coordinators do their job.
3. Get a quality CB, Safety and Tackle via draft and/FA.
4. Re-sign Woods, let Gilmore and Zach Brown walk
5. Go back to 4-3 D
6. Minor tweaks to offense and overhaul D scheme

Because I want that monkey off our back, that's why. I want the week long build up of a playoff game. I want to go to or host a playoff party. I want that feeling back that we are heading in the right direction. Honestly, I don't care if they get crushed in round one. Getting that monkey off the back of the franchise and the fans would be huge IMO.

He has 29 starts. The Bills are 15-14 in those games.
Did he play well enough to win 10 games this year? No. If he had we would have.
That's Interesting, I wasn't aware that the QB is solely responsible to win or lose a game. I guess Luck, Rivers and Brees are all bums too because they didn't come close to winning 10 games

Tomlin, Harbaugh, Arians, Reid

Yes ! It's time to pass the ball again!
Ok yeah, so we can be 15th in passing and 12th in running. Do you realize we were a top 10 offense in terms of scoring? Offense wasn't the problem with this team. We had a bad defense and two bad kickers. Not sure how people don't get this. We're a playoff team with a better than average defense.
-
Interesting, and makes sense. Nothing worse than when you have the players and a coach totally ruins them. Such a shame

Tyrod has peaked. He is not a good QB. He is somewhat capable of making some good plays because of his mobility. I agree he makes the run game better too.
Guess what we have had a great run game for 2 years and have still stunk. He can't make the plays from the pocket that a QB needs to make. He lacks vision and timing with WRs. The next WR he throws open will be his first.
How would you feel if the defense (before Rex ruined it) played like it did in 2014 and we were in the playoffs this year?
-
What I'm hearing you say:
All we need is a top 10 WR and top 10 defense to go along with our historically good rush attack and then our QB would be serviceable.
If he was somewhere in the middle of the pack then his record in games facing a deficit would be much closer to .500 and not 2-14 (or whatever it's up to now). Sorry, but everything you're pawning above as fact is highly debatable.
Do you disagree that he played well enough for us to at least win 10 games? I'm not saying he's a top tier guy, but IMO he gives us a chance to be a solid team. He has what, something like 27 starts? I think he still has room to get better and I don't see another realistic option to field a competitive team in the near future. It was the defense that disappointed this year, overall the offense did their job.

Bills fans HAVE GOT TO STOP evaluating our QB's relative to the dismal two decades we've had at the position. How does he compare to the rest of the LEAGUE
When you factor in his rushing yards, rushing TD's, lack of turnovers, sacks allowed, etc. I think he'd factor somewhere in the middle of the pack. The bottom line is the guy gave us a chance to win AT LEAST 10 games. The team needs to be better around him and the coaching needs to be better. We should focus on fixing the defense and getting two new kickers. I'd be excited to see what we can do with a top 10 defense coupled with what our offense has been able to do for two years now. Not sure how you can debate that. Getting rid of TT would be a mistake. He gives us a chance to be competitive and buys time for us to groom a guy like Cardalle and/or find a franchise QB in the draft. I think TT is close, and even though I don't think he's there yet, I do think he can continue to get better.
-
A little surprised at Kelly's comments on Tyrod. Not saying they are totally untrue, but TT is the best QB we've had in a long time. Sure he had some bad games, but he played well enough to give us 10 wins and into the playoffs for the first time in 16 years. Not to mention a ridiculously depleted WR core. It's not his fault the defense couldn't stop Jay Ajayi (twice) and couldn't defend a pass in week two versus the Jets. The defense also couldn't make a stop in 1st half of Seashawks game. Just seems like JK is writing the guy off, but who you gonna bring in to give us a legit chance to end the drought? Fix the defense, and a TT lead offense will get this team into the postseason.

Well this is certainly a glass half full post. You could very easily make an argument in the complete other direction as well. Just because a guy is starting doesn't mean he was a good pick. We got very little production from this years draft class, although completely admit the jury is still out and you can't judge a class after one year. Darby and Miller are only two picks last year who are starting, albeit we didn't have a 1st round pick. We gave up too much for Watkins when other talented receivers were available at later picks. Whaley did have a hand in the 2013 draft which was abysmal. It's also not about who we drafted, but players that we passed up as well and there are many instances of better players being available that we didn't pick.
-
If I'm Whaley, I'd bring TT back and let Gilmore walk. Spend first three picks on CB, Safety and WR. Use FA for OT and additional CB/Safety depth. Take a kicker in 6th or 7th round that can handle both kickoff and fg's.
-
Anyone who thinks Whaley has done a good job, just take a look at our draft picks since 2013. It's really been less than impressive and there have been several misses and much better players available that we passed on.
-
Anyone know if the Bills would have made playoffs if they finished 9-7?
-
The Saints with Payton and Bree's have been under .500 for three straight seasons now. What makes you think this would be a good move? Not to mention, Drew isn't getting any younger.
-
This isn't the first time we've heard this. Would like to know who these guys are talking about. Dareus and Hughes come to mind, but who else isn't putting the work in to give them the best chance to win on Sundays?
Where are all the tipsters? Leroi?!

Because the OC hire will play a role in the future of Tyrod and direction we go at the QB position. Plus, it'll perhaps give us an idea what type of system they'll run. It's a crucial hire that could make or break our next season or two. We have a defensive coach so to me this hire is just as important as the HC
