  1. This take is somewhat ill-informed. I've heard it said that Dorsey is a genius at 12-personnel. He played in 12 at the U and he coached the QBs at the Panthers in 12 also. He tried to implement a 12-scheme last season—recall they signed OJ Howard. Alas, Howard got hurt in Tampa. Then the Bucs brought in Brady and OJ never meshed and ended up a ruined prospect. The Bills had some hope but cut him at the end of camp. Dorsey never had a reliable slot last season. Lil Dirty was inconsistent. Crowder was good but broke his ankle early in the season. They even brought Cole back at the end. Dorsey also had a complete disaster at LG and an inexperienced RT with no off-season. And finally, he did not have a running back with any size (other than 17).

But set all that aside. You can bet Dorsey had a big say in the roster changes. And it looks like he's going have a real 12-personnel offense.

  2. The panic that's ensued after the game Saturday night is amusing. On August 14, 2008, the Bills 'hosted' the Steelers at the Rogers Dome in Toronto.

The Bills jumped out to a 21-0 lead on the Steelers—running their starters off the field. The Bills eventually won 24-21. After starting hot, the Dick Jauron coached Bills went 7-9. The Steelers finished second in the AFC behind the Titans and went on to beat Arizona in Super Bowl XLIII.

  3. The NFL gets the trophy for stupidity following SB LVII, based on the following three merits:

    1. They change the field to resemble a PGA green, then paint much of it so it plays like a Water Park surface.

    2. They assign Carl Cheffers as referee—who is proven to be over-officious—and, of course, he decides the outcome.

    3. They treat us to a mind-numbingly dull halftime show (because they couldn't get another artist to pay the fee).

I've been wondering how its possible that he's even ready?  Look at all our discussion on Tre White.  He was hurt on Thanksgiving day game in NOLA (late November).  OBJ tore ACL in Super Bowl (early February).  We're still wondering when White will finally see the field.  The Bills had to put him on PUP.  Though he's 2+ months ahead of the journey that OBJ is going down.  I think he just wants some to start paying him.  I would have to seriously wonder whether he would be ready to play before the playoffs at earliest.

And Tre got to the field a year...ONE YEAR after injury. At this writing OBJ is 9.5 mos. post injury. Maybe the Bills know better.

"That" heat in the game against Miami was absolutely par for the course for SE FL at this time of year.

Actually not. It was extraordinary and immediately prior to a hurricane. Perhaps listen to or read a few player interviews about their experiences. SMH

Superbowl winning teams don't find excuses they find solutions.

Who mentioned excuses? It's just a fact. They were flat early. Allen admitted to feeling poorly most of last week. They are a Superbowl team that snapped out of a hangover from the previous week.

  6. No mention has been made about the Hard Rock Oven effect. The Bills offense spent 40+ mins in that heat. So did the Dolphins D, but they only had til Thursday to recover and looked tired vs Cincinnati. The Bills had a whole week. But Josh still felt like crap until Friday (to say nothing of other players)...and it took the offense a quarter and a half to shake it all off yesterday. It's fine to leave it alone until you start ragging on the early offensive performance vs. the Ravens.

  7. Our 13 seconds was an unmitigated disaster of coaching. Most other horrific Buffalo sports moments are based On a player not executing. This is all on coaching and is a stain that may not be gone until the fabric it’s on is cut out.

Without the slightest bit of doubt.

    Recency bias

    Fallacy of composition

    Negativity bias

    Loss aversion

All logical fallacies that tie into this overreaction.

Doesn't mean we should ignore it, of course. It was bad. But yeah, we're overreacting.

    No, we’re not.

I think the worst commercial is the one where the friends are like... "Are you Ok?, You don't seem like yourself." "If you want to talk, I am here for you." They play that stupid commercial all the time.

As a musician, I became so intensely sick of that phuuucking Jingle, that I drastically improved my mute button stats by the last time I saw it air.

  9. Wishful wondering perhaps, but McDermott and Payton go way back. The Seans were in mutual admiration of their respective crafts with years of Panthers vs. Saints. Sean Payton does not need to prove himself in another HC job, certainly.

How attractive would the prospect of crafting an offense for JA and co. be to Sean Payton. Rather attractive, I'd venture.

  10. I hope someone at 1 Bills Dr. was taking notes when the Bengals, near the end of the first half, squibbed the KO with a little over a minute left.

Subsequently, the Chiefs were caught short without those precious seconds used running back the squib when time expired with the Chiefs at the three yard line of the Bengals.

Well, at least there’s a lot of chief hearts ripped out of chests now too.

I think if he leaves GB then Rodgers ends up in IND, PIT, or DEN, in that order of likelihood.

Leaving the NFC North will be bad for Rodger's career. I don't see him "owning" any divisional competition from those destinations. He has now what Brady had in the AFC East. Weak divisional foes.

  12. Harrison Phillips is a very intelligent, well-spoken man. His presser is great...he is so real.

Which makes it all the more remarkable that, when questioned by John Wawrow (AP), Harrison was not aware the Bills were 0-6 in one score games. Are you shiiiiting me???  I'm sure many fans—me included— have spent a lot of the season worried about this very thing....starting with the week one loss. It was a trend early on, with a L-W-L-W-L-W pattern in the middle of the season that saw the Bills unable to win close games. Hell, they even let the shhiiiitty teams stay close at the end of the season...but ended up blowing them out.

That this team has an intelligent player such as Horrible Harry that is unaware of a blatantly obvious and telling stat makes me wonder about the level of "5000 foot view"  awareness that's lost when a player or coach is nose-to-the-ground grinding all season.

What a silly question....they didn't even know enough to keep 17 off the phuuucking ManningCast.

I'm taking this loss hard also. I'd love to biiitch at McDermott for 60 seconds. But McDermott did not say anything resembling your statement.

The threat of an effective running games makes Allen FAR MORE DANGEROUS.

  14. McBeane has been there 5 years. Jerry Hughes a bit longer. I've been doing this for 57 years. I saw OJ at the  Rockpile. Attended first ever game at Rich (Bills 9 - Jets 7). So yes, fans take it harder. No one in the Bills organization was there for wide-right, for area code 044, for the Music City *****. But I and many of you experienced all of this and more.

I've been waiting my whole life to scream out into the woods on a January or February Sunday night that "The Bills are champions of the football world".  Now, I don't know if I can even stomach any more football this postseason.
