  1. Based upon the accrued years for each of these players, here are the amounts the Bills were required to submit as an offer. (Figures are unofficial estimates):

    TE - Nick O’Leary - $630,000
    TE - Logan Thomas - $555,000
    DE - Eddie Yarbrough - $555,000
    CB - Lafayette Pitts - $630,000

They were all tendered offers today and will be back with the Bills this season!

all of a sudden it doesn't look like the best QB draft in a decade.

somehow we won 9 games,  made the playoffs,  wasn't expected,  now we're stuck with crappy first round pick position,  add that to KCs  draft pick we acquired.

now things change significantly with the process.

Nobody really wants our crappy #21 & #22 picks - - everybody in Buffalo is dreaming.  Use our 9 picks in 5 rounds and re-build the team - the TEAM.  To contend year after year we need so much!

  3. These are smart NFL men.  They are here for the LONG TERM!  Trading away two #1 picks and more isn't their style.  ESPECIALLY when there is NO standout Quarterback in this draft.  NO Manning, NO Luck and NO Newton.  It's a crap shoot and everybody knows that.

Get a CB, LB or DL in the first Round.  Grab a QB like Rudolph, Falk or Lauletta in the 2nd.  With the other 2nd rounder get a RB or WR.  I can't image what we can do with two 3's, a 4 and two 5's to fill-out our needs.

Then take a look at Glennon, Bradford or Bridgewater for $7-8 mil as a veteran presence at QB.  We'll have Free Agency for the O-Line.

We've become a SMART organization!  It's very nice!

  4. Everybody Relax & Enjoy!

Before the Bills make another trade, sign another Free Agent or do something fans may question or argue about - -enjoy this one day for what we have:

    1.  Approximately $40,000,000 in 2018 Cap Space

    2.  Five draft picks within the first 65 players to be selected

    3.  9 overall picks in rounds 1-5  (top 166)

    4.  A GM and HC that appear to know what they are doing!

What a nice change for a Bills Fan!

  5. Great insights Shaw!  When you said  " Or will the future of the game be different " - - that's the story.  If you want a traditional pocket passer with accuracy and a rocket arm (Brady, Brees, Big Ben etc.) you've got to invest big money in the Offensive line.  The defensive players of today are too fast, too quick and too elusive  for average lineman to handle them.  The other option is a running, scrambling QB with decent throwing skills and then spending money on WR's with special skills.

  6. For the Bills 2nd Super Bowl trip, to play the Redskins, "Mission Minneapolis" was the promo name used by all the local TV stations for their pre-game reports during the 2 weeks before the game.  They were actually quite interesting as they visited bars, restaurants, long time Bills fans, original Bills from the 60's, screen print shops pumping out the hats, sweatshirts & tees with the Super Bowl / Bills logos and travel agencies booking game packages.

Can anyone remember remember the promo names for the other THREE Super Bowl Games???

    Possible Big Money Cuts:

    Tyrod Taylor - $9,440,000

    Cordy Glenn - $4,850,000

    Richie Incognito (35 years old) - $6,425,000

    Lorenzo Alexander (35 years old) - $2,550,000

Bills should have around $60 million in cap space.

    Team Needs

    QB

    OT

    2 OG'S

    2 DT'S

    2 LB'S

    DE

    WR

    CB

    RB

McDermott and Beane have work to do. Excited to see what happens.

Can't we add in Eric Wood?   He's terrible.  Groy does a better job!

They get paid big money to do what they do.... I’ll be thankful when we move on from him. 15 starts including playoffs and he led us to 3 points in four of those games. That’s over 25%.

If you want wanna thank players, the defense, McCoy and Hauska is where you should start.

I was thanking Tyrod because of his character and effort.  The QB in any NFL city takes a lot of media abuse.  He stood tall.  I understand his limitations but admire his attitude!

  9. Tyrod took a beating today.  He got up off the ground when many others wouldn’t have.  His heart is with the Buffalo Bills. He’s a well spoken man and a great representative of Buffalo the city and the Bills.  Have you ever heard or read of a negative issue (on or off-field) with Tyrod?

He’s a great athlete but not necessarily the prototype of a successful QB in the NFL.  He did his BEST!  I know he wanted more.

    THANK YOU TYROD !!!

  10. IF we had a stand in the pocket QB with a rifle arm would he succeed with this OL?  How many times per game does Tyrod avoid sacks within a few seconds after the snap?  How many times does he scramble around and complete a pass?  How many times does he run for his life and gain positive yardage?

I'd bet Tyrod does the above 5 times per game.  That's 80 times in a season.  If he was sacked 1/2 of these plays it would be 40 plays for 7-10 yard losses.

He's definitely not the best QB in the NFL but Tyrod makes this weak Bills OL look a lot better than it is!!!
