  1. Corey Bojorquez is just 21 years old and played with the Lobos at New Mexico.  Now, he's the starting punter for the Bills and has never kicked in a regular or pre-season NFL game.

    A mystery man??

Not according to the Patriots long time place kicker -who is a family friend (he grew up in the Buffalo area as a kid)- who saw him through out pre-season.  "He's got a monster leg , is a very good place kick holder and just needs to work on his placement of kicks.

He didn't know why he wasn't played in pre-season games but "you don't ask Bill about that sort of stuff'!!!

    WELCOME COREY!!

  2. If Chase Daniel plays a lot of QB for the Bears Thursday night and our OL isn't significantly better than their previous performances I see a major bad hit for the Bills.  Hopefully nobody important will get hurt. Just thinking that way is scary, but, realistic.

  3. The Bills choose not to release Season Ticket Sales as is their right.

Going through 3 tickets sellers - including 'Vivid Seats' - the opening home game vs.the Chargers has just 3,700 seats available. The last game of the season against the Dolphins at New Era Field  on December 30th has 10,300 seats left.

Bills fans are back in force!  The home games are becoming an 'event' again - GREAT!

Is it due to great confidence in this coaching staff & GM?   Because we made the play-offs after 17 years?  Is it because Josh Allen has arrived?

  4. Watching the Patriots beat the Eagles in a pre-season tonight game got me upset.  It was a New England broadcast team and they were the most arrogant, self-centered and Patriots can do no wrong announcers ever!  I would be embarrassed if the Bills media was like them.  Constant snide remarks about the opposition.  How wonderful the Pats were with Bill B running the show.  Clips from team golf outings as they 'bonded'.

The Boston area is full of people that feel superior to others.  It was so well reflected in the game coverage.

I don't think the Jets or Dolphins can punch them in the nose during the season.  I so hope the Bills can!!

  5. It seems many people want a nickname for Josh.  There was a song many, many years ago that seems to fit him.  And he IS a Cowboy from Wyoming!

    "Like a rhinestone cowboy
Riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo
    Like a rhinestone cowboy
Getting cards and letters from people I don't even know
And offers comin' over the phone"
  6. The Buffalo News today spent 2 pages on Shaq.  How he played at 285 lbs. at Clemson and that now he's in the 260-265 range to get quicker.  Also, he's been in the DC's system for a year and understands what he needs to do.

This guy plays 'stiff'!  He runs awkwardly to make a play.  Anyone watching good football players and athletes understands how they run.  Shaq doesn't run well enough and doesn't have the quickness off the line to make any type of impact.  He might as well put the weight back on and try to make it as an interior lineman.

I don't care who drafted him from the Bills.  He's not good enough.

  7. This year may be fun but look ahead to 2019.

Our young quarterbacks will be slotted.  Our defense will be established.  AND - most importantly - our DEAD CAP of $46 mil will be resolved.

In 2019 we are projected to have $65 mil in cap space.  Go get the OL in FA we need and a couple of LB's.

I expect a deep run into the play-offs!   WONDERFUL!

  8. A memory from Bill's Pre-season games long ago!

    Aug 8  1969:

    BILLS 21, Washington 17
-- First and only time a Vince Lombardi-coached team lost to an AFL team.
-- (NY Times) "It was not a good game for the Redskins. Bobby Mitchell dropped a pass in the end zone, Sonny Jurgenson fumbled a hand-off setting up Buffalo's touchdown, and Sam Huff missed a key tackle. Lombardi, meanwhile, stood on the sidelines with a look of I-knew-there-would-be-nights-like-this."
-- OJ Simpson was supposed to make his debut but had yet to sign a contract.

Well I think Tuesday is the day it was initially released in select theaters twenty years ago.  I had just started high school and heard somewhere somebody made a movie about wanting to kill Scott Norwood.  I thought that on its own was quite amusing at the time and made me interested in checking it out.

It's a movie though I liked more as I got older.  Watch it every couple of years or so.  The Buffalo filming locations as well as the Yes soundtrack are some things that make it memorable and some funny moments (the calls to Goon).

I remember posting a thread here to see if people liked the movie and I think it was mixed.  Regardless, the movie being twenty years old is making me realize how fast time goes by!

Thank you for this post.  I loved the movie but over time forgot about it!!!!  I'll watch it again!

For the record, I haven't gone through the list of 2019 FA's carefully enough to pull out everyone.  But it wouldn't surprise me if the Bills showed interest in Buccaneers' guard Ali Marpet, if he isn't re-signed in Tampa Bay (or tagged).  Marpet happens to be from New York and went to college at Hopart.

And we all know there's a safe bet in Le'Veon Bell hitting the market, too.  It's rarely wise to spend big on a RB's second contract, especially one with a couple of suspensions already (suspensions generally void guarantees in contracts... unless your Doug Whaley and you make that giant concession to Marcel Dareus and his agent).  But if McCoy, God forbid, showed steep regression this year that was not totally attributable to our OL I could see a 31-year old Lesean released ($6.425 million saved against the cap) and a (then) 27-year old Bell brought in on a 3-4 year deal.

I should note that I don't necessarily believe Bell is a seamless fit into what McBeane wants to do.  I could just see it being a POSSIBLE fit.  Hopefully McCoy continues to play relatively timelessly and he can play out his contract, at least.

Marpet went to HOBART College in Geneva NY.  Quite the sleeper!

    No local sports reporting?

Oh they are doing local sports reporting!!!  Staff writers with articles about HS tennis and track.  The paper itself has fallen on hard times.  They don't even have a TV TOPICS section in the Sunday paper.  If you want one you have to pick it up at TOPS market - with their adds in it.  TOPS is in bankruptcy right now - - - quite the relationship.

I may be on the minority but felt that he was a total JAG. He was the guy that always got picked on in big situations . He was nowhere near the player that NRC was. Johnson wasn’t horrible but was totally expendable. The Bills tried to upgrade at a lower price.

I agree - - he was average at best and this staff doesn't want AVERAGE!
