Good for the NFL.  They're protecting the brand.  NFL games are not a forum for individual players to air their political opinions or present their personal axes to grind.  When you come to the game, play football.  If you have a personal cause, do it on your own time.

what does forcing your players to stand for the national anthem have to do with "playing football" ?

stop doing mental gymnastics to try and defend this. it's actually embarrassing

NBA has required players stand for the anthem since David Stern.

Troll job on 100 thousand million.

    it isn't about that

the NFL is the most controlling professional sports league in the world. there is no freedom. 32 teams all run the same exact way. you step out of line you don't belong.

NBA has done a 100x better job at marketing towards the youth and a wider range audience.

Wow. What a statement. and what a way to alienate all the younger generation fans. Glad they did this, as now I have an even better excuse not to watch this garbage league anymore except Bills games

the NBA will surpass the NFL in about 10 years at this rate tbh, won't be surprised when it happens.

Well we drafted a project. So if your above is what is expected then we drafted the worng guy. Allen needs to learn the pro game not be forced into it.

if he devleps in a year or 2 that is fantastic, but by game 4 is a huge stretch IMO. Maybe the last 4 games of 2018

how is drafting a project doing the right thing?

When all other 1st round QB's are starting and winning a few games for their team by week 6 and Allen is still on the bench b/c he can't read an NFL defense it means we drafted the wrong QB.

  5. Sean McDermott is a great coach don't get me wrong, but the man has zero experience in developing QB's.

He is defensive guy, he has no idea what to look for in a successful franchise QB. The same goes for every other defensive minded coach we hired the last 15 years who had failed QB's. Project QB's need tons of coaching, and good coaching.

Who do we even have on staff that has any success with developing QB's? Daboll isn't really a QB guru, and his NFL track record is pretty mediocre so he is still a huge question mark. And our actual QB coach is a WR's coach so I'm not sure who Brandon Beane is planning on teaching Josh Allen.

We don't even have a skilled vet QB on the team. This is the main reason why Josh Allen makes zero sense to a lot of us. The bills are not in a position right now where they can bring on a project QB.

  6. well considering there is a good chance we will be picking top 10 next season we have a real shot at a solid offensive talent.

I think it starts with oline. positions like WR/TE/backup RB can be found later in the draft. this franchise has ignored the oline position for so long its embarrassing.

When was the last time we picked a offensive linemen in the 1st round?

You expect wrong, no way is mayfield starting over Tyrod.  Darnold might start for the Jets.

Wanting allen to start day 1 is asinine and irresponsible.

sit him a year, next offseason and draft get offense early and often to build around him

Unless AJ turns into a pro bowl QB he isn't sitting a whole year. our schedule is brutal this year and I doubt we win more than 5-6 games.

I am not a big Yeezus fan but I think he has a valid point - our coaching staff isn't exactly equipped to smooth the edges on a physically gifted quarterback that has issues with his mechanics.

This is why I think McCarron starts this year, with Allen watching him on the bench.  At least I hope that's the case.  The OL has regressed and I could easily see a situation where Allen gets thrown to the wolves a la Peterman and the fanbase jumps down his throat because his first game is terrible.  There's no recovering from that, just ask Nate.

and this is why taking a damn project QB was an awful decision. not bc of his skillset, but b/c we just don't have the coaches here to develop him.

Rosen could have came in year 1 and performed just as well or close to Tyrod. putting up 140 yards per game with 20 attempts isn't hard to do. Ppl don't know but Rosen is the best QB in the draft under pressure, he gets the ball out quicker than everyone. Would have been perfect with our poor oline situation.

  9. 1. Draft a project QB in the 1st round

    2. Doesn't bring in a coach to teach project QB. Our HC has no idea how to develop a QB, our OC doesn't exactly have much experience either, and our QB coach has been a WR coach for the past 10 years. Very concerning.

    3. Draft heavy on defense (despite how much better defense was than offense). Whaley did move up for Watkins but he drafted mostly defensive players when Rex came, changed the system and drafted 3-4 players who are all gone now.

Pretty worrying so far. Our defense def had holes to fill, but I think some people tend to forget how many games they won us this season. I can maybe think of 1 or 2 games where the defense let us down. This offense right now is not an ideal place where a rookie QB can come and learn. We have the worst line in the league by a longshot. We have 1 extremely injury prone WR and an aging RB.

Cue the people who will complain we are drafting more defense. McD is a defensive coach; what do you expect? in the NFL, you win with defense and running.

    umm no you don't lmao

this isn't 1980. You win with a QB that can successfully throw the ball.

Look at the superbowl. Eagles had to score 41 points to beat the Patriots despite their all star defense.

I know, we are all supposed to be mad or something....

    And

I know...what sources does Chris Simms have..

But for those willing to be open minded, I encourage you to watch the first couple minutes of this video when they recap round 1.

And if you really want to feel good, go back and watch round 1 when they gush over both Bills picks and say the Bills killed the draft.

And some scrubs named Mayock, Kiper, McShay and Matt Miller (in the video above) all ranked Josh Allen as a top 10 player and a top 2 QB.

But what do they know, right?

    POST THE DAMN TIMESTAMP

  12. doesn't matter

we will most likely be picking top 5 next year, maybe top 3. We have the worst oline in the league, the defense still has many holes and imo overachieved last year, they will struggle

McCoy is getting old, we have no WR's and QB situation is a question mark. We are going to get good picks next season plus have one of the most cap room in the league

He's not playing this year. Accept that.

great. so on top of having the worst mechanics and accuracy out of all his peers drafted in the 1st round, he will be a whole year behind in terms of experience from most of them.

Mayfield/Rosen/Darnold are all day 1 starters. Peterman will outplay Allen in camp.
