Bills have more depth at G than they can keep already.
Bills are deep at guard. Would only sign one if McGovern is out long term.

Can King help outside? He's more of a slot corner but if Bills were to trade Elam...

Im not sure what's going on with the pinned threads and this probably one deserves it's own thread anyways.
We've lost/cut Shell, Quessenberry and Doyle this off-season. Basically all of our depth.
Something has to be in the works at OT, no?
Perhaps Beane would re sign him later?

are we buyers or are we sellers?
I mean, we will probably do both. But which one is big enuf 'news' to get on the radio about.
Since its breathlessly reported / rumored, i'd assume its a name we all know. Not like trading somebody we were gonna cut, or trading for somebody at the bottom of another team's depth chart (with the exception of QB).
So its probably Boogie or AJE. They decided they are keeping one, and the other has value. Do it before the trade partner has time to be surprised that 'whats available tomorrow (after cuts) in the dumpster is better than he expected.
Why not Lawson or Elam?

I agree. If Josh gets hurt long-term, our season is done anyway.
Rather than giving up on the season..., MY hope is they find a QB who can keep the team going if Josh is out. If he can maybe play .500 ball that might save their playoff chances.

I think its time to stop with the "Josh needs a mentor" stuff.
He doesn't need a washed up, marginal QB to hold his hand.
I want a backup that can keep the Bills afloat if Josh goes down.

Cut Kyle Allen. Sign a QB who doesn’t suck so much to be #2. Sign Hailee Steinfeld to the PS. Best of both worlds.Keep Kyle for continuity and sign/trade for a vet who is younger, and better, than Barkley. My concern; if Josh misses game (s) will we have a backup that can keep the team afloat?

I think if a trade is made there it is Elam in a player-for-player trade. He would have better value. I could see Beane targeting a recent first round OT or ML that someone else feels has underperformed their draft status and swinging that trade.
I think Benford is the week 1 starter across from Tre.Elam would be attractive to a team that plays man defense. I wonder who that might be?

I feel like Cam Lewis has more utility to this team than Kaiir Elam, given that the former can play two positions and is a standout special teamer, and the latter is 4th string at his position and is not a standout special teamer.
I'm not predicting that they cut Elam, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if they traded him and Lewis made the team.Elam is not exactly "4th string".
White is entrenched on one side whileJackson, Benford and Elam are fighting for the CB2 job.
Somebody has to back up Tre so I consider Elam "2nd string" on one side or the other.
Some label Elam "CB4" which indocates how he ranks overwll as an outside CB.

How do you know Beane got calls about Benford?
-
I have serious doubts about the credibility of this. You didn't hear BEANE saying it? You claim one of the announcers shared that Beane told him this? I don't believe Beane is that
reckless and stupid.

I would think that teams would want to have a final meeting with team awards, etc. before they start releasing.
With players who they would like to keep at a lower salary level give them warning they are on bubble and if they are not willing to renegotiate they will be cut which would allow team not to cut another player.
Hey,let's give them all "participation trophies " . LOL! There are some awards given after camp at Fisher but these are professionals.

Why I think the Buffalo Bills should buy Will Gruer and you should to right now:
- will had a great game against the Las Vegas Raidaaaas
- he threw the ball, but he also ran the ball really good. TWO TOUCH DOWNS!!
- Will reminds me of Fitzpatrikwith that big beard, right?
Let's get Will Grier, Beane!! He'd bea really good backup to Josh and I bet that'd be really good friends.
That's all he has done for the last 3,4 years. Might be a flash in the pan

Fair list. My biggest takeaway was how the O called plays. Motion, lot if different formations and finally QUICK reads for 17. It just keeps the D off balance, Cook had some easy holes for nice gains. And obviously Josh can hit the deep ball at any time. That 1 drive looked very similar to the NE massacre on WC weekend
Agreed on Diggs, I could see him going crazy, he should get close to 15 targets per game, going to be tough to double him. I had draft last night, wanted him round 2 cause Saquon was sticking out in rd 1 but missed out.
Average of 15 per game is a total of 255. That is not going to happen ; the record is 205.

There was a weekly “this guy isn’t that bad I swear” report on Edmunds for the last couple years.
After watching him whiff yesterday, I’m not sure if he got benched or what, but I’d love to hear some breakdown of the former “ProBowler” and his level of play in a Bears uni.
He missed a couple weeks of practice and only got a couple days in this week.

I had to walk the dog and missed this play. Got back to see him crossing the goal line
Ty Johnson had also been looking good.

Agreed, and I'm not saying hes a starter but I'd replace a guy like special teams LB Matakevich with this guy due to his upside. He could develop into a solid to high end backup linebacker, possibly more.
Not sure he is ready for the 53
-
-
I'm probably keeping Rosseau, Basham, Floyd and Epenesea on the 53 and then it depends on whether Von stays on PUP.
Is Lawson more valuable as insurance until Von returns, or does he have trade value?
Jonathan, and Cline, have both had moments.

I cannot stand listening to Maddy "Gab" on One Bills Live. Her research and writing are okay but she talks endlessly. I won't bother listening to any of her podcasts.
She cant stop after ONE talking point; always has to spew every single piece of info on a subject. Can't make one GOOD point; wants to keep piling on every note she took on a player or subject.
Whoever she works for needs to teach her how to focus on QUALITY not QUANTITY.
You can see Brown,Tasker and guests like Trapasso cringe while she babbles on and on.
This week I noticed she often talked for 5 minutes straight before giving Trapasso an opportunity to share.
I go to the bathroom when she starts talking. Or switch the channel to sitcom reruns. When I get back to One Bills Live she is usually still talking

So far he is just an athletic standout still learning the linebacker position. Needs a year or two on a practice squad. Bills need a middle linebacker NOW so ,no, I wouldn't poach him to take up a roster spot.

Will be fun to see Edmunds make tackles 15 yards up field again. If he plays.
He missed about 3 weeks of practice and just got back on the field this week. I would be surprised to see him.

I think Crowder isn't enamored with the Bills and will look elsewhere, looking for a team where he can get playing time. Would he see many targets here?
