  1. Marrone gone- dubius in game decision.

Easily a 10 win team with anybody as coach....

Billed as- innovative , fast paced offense (should have checked personnel before deciding this)

Couldn't figure out how to use Spiller a real talent!

    Most egregious.. Offensive line regressed....

    Couldn't develop a quarterback

    Oy Dougie, Dug ,Dougie....

  2. I apologize but I just gotta' stop you on that point. The myth you are saying just can't be perpetuated. It's too often used as an excuse for Buddy Nix and Doug Whaley and it's just not valid.

There were probably dozens of other veteran QB's better qualified than Kolb. He was permanently disabled. The medical staff of the Bills should be liable for letting this guy pass a physical with a severed brain stem. That's not hindsight....the Bills themselves saw how fragile he was when they ended his actual playing career just months earlier. He never played another down in the NFL after Alex Carrington broke several bones and concussed him on a routine tackle that day in AZ.

Tarvaris Jackson for one was already on THE BILLS OWN ROSTER and had proven himself more capable of playing QB and doing it at a productive level in the NFL than Kolb. By A LOT.

What's more......if the decision to cut Fitz was made because he wasn't going to be given the chance to compete for the starting QB job....then why is it assumed that a much lesser player in Kolb was brought in to start? The whole cutting of Fitz supports the notion that Kolb was a tomato can brought in to simply be kicked over by a rookie QB.

On what planet was the atrocious Kolb better than the mediocre Fitz? It simply makes ZERO sense to say Kolb was brought in to start.....yet it may be true.

Which just points out how HORRENDOUS of a decision it was to cut Fitz/TJax and then go with KOLB. Utterly crazy-stupid. And pertinent to the discussion today as the Bills sit in much the same spot at QB now as they were then.

I could see if this was a Jim Plunkett-type rehabilitation project. But no. Kolb was a modest QB prospect in college who moved up a bit late in the draft process and he never even had a season in his entire NFL career where he threw for 10 TD's. It's not like the guy was a first round bust or something. That decision still ranks as one of the dumbest in Bills history. Breathtakingly stupid.

    Fact.

Who should we have drafted that we passed on? I'll give you the first one: Russell Wilson. Other than that, who should we have taken that we passed on?

    Teddy Bridgewater
  3. This is a Good Thing you've done, ChevyVan. In the Superbowl years, Darryl Talley was always my favorite Bill.

If I could reach Darryl and Janine, I have one thing I'd like to say:

Take the money. Because it isn't just about you.

It's about medical problems from playing the game we love, that weren't known while you were playing, impacting body and mind.

It's about hundreds or thousands of former NFL players, each in a Pain Cave of their own, trying to figure out what's happening and what to do - what works, what doesn't, what's best.

It's about the families of all those players, facing the same struggles.

It's about the league being reactive, doing something when pressed but not enough.

It's about Buffalo fans who would die a little bit themselves if they ever opened a paper and read about Darryl Talley doing what Junior Seau felt he had to do.

So take the money, but take it as a chance. Use it to get yourself straight as you can with medical and alternative treatment. Start with whatever it takes to get a sound night's sleep, because when you aren't sleeping right everything goes to sh** and when you are, everything looks better. Hire a different lawyer to see if your pension situation can be remedied, because the NFL is all about PR and this GoFundMe says you have PR behind you.

Then take the money and take it as a challenge. When you can, pay it forward by reaching out. As a former player, you have tons of cred. Use it to reach out to other players. Get guys talking. Talk about what works and what doesn't work. Build a database. Talk to families of former players about watchouts, what to look for when a guy may be going down that road. Build family support groups. And let it go from there, because it will. Because when you're up to your a** in alligators, it's hard to drain the swamp, and I think many former players are up to their a**. But if you take it with the same determination that made people love the way you play, maybe you have a chance to take on the swamp.

But first, take the money. Use it on your health, and fix whatever you can. Because if you do that, you'll be able to pay it forward in ways that are inconceivable now.

    Best post in years...
  4. I donated. I can understand the reaction of some people that say he squandered millions, maybe so. He is one of my favorite Bills ever! Idonated not for the money but to be counted as one of the Many people who appreciated what he did for the Bills. I was at the Brick Bar playing pool with one of my friends in 1983. This dude walks in and I say to my friend " that's the third round pick Talley, he was by himself ,we asked him to play pool andhavea beer with us, he was really col. He was the heart andsoul of that team, the only guy who would andcould slap bruce down! The bullheaded toughness he showed in the field probably led to his business problems. I cried when I read the story, I have lots of Bills cards, posters etc... I have a shelf behind my desk and there is only one card on it Darryl Talleys... Gahh bless...

  5. I see the doom and gloom in the post about our playoff chances. I still believe there is a scenario that’s is going to play out. Look at the Pats Schedule they will lose their 3 away games I am almost willing to put money on that fact. So if the Patriots lose 3 of their next six games they will be 10-5 going up against us in the last game. If we win 4 of the next six games we will be 9-6 going into that last game. As long as we beat Miami and Jets we would be playing for the AFC East in that final game. Because if we beat the Pats we are tied in head to head but we will have the better division record. What better scenario could we ask for beat the Pats and we are in…

    Thoughts on this happening?

    It will
