I love the move.I like it because it gives Beane and Mcdermott a reasonable time to evaulate the team.If petermen is horrible we draft a qb.If he is someone you can work with you draft a o-line and d-line

It is because after the games when asked questions mcdermott says we will have to look at te tape and get better.dick jauron said the very same thing at every press conference

This year the new OC has a new blocking scheme. Shady is being abused by the resultsnt terrible blocking. The pass game is just as nad as it was last year, and with the loss of a runnig game we look/are awful on offense.

before tyrod got hurt in the game he also had a pass batted at the line of scrimmageAs for the batted passes, if anything they should be removed as attempts, not counted as completions. And those are mostly good plays by the defenders who realize that if they can't get to the quarterback and they see the quarterback throwing the ball, they should jump up and try to get a piece of the ball.

I strongly disagree.
When I was a young army officer, I was taught, "You can come in like a lion and leave as a sheep. But if you enter as a sheep, you'll never be a lion."
As a guy who builds teams for a living (albeit in a very different profession), I passionately believe you have to be clear about your expectations from the very beginning. There has to be strong accountability that doesn't play favorites.
Accountability comes from the word 'count.' You count up the good or bad someone does and reward/punish them in measure. Holding people accountable isn't being a hard a$$. It's just being both smart and strong. Most people want to be on a high-performing team rather than in a loosey-goosey Rex Ryan environment that produces losing.
McD's commitment to accountability won't just create a better team, it has a very good chance of making Dareus a better player.
in theory you are right, but even Bill Parcels and Bill Belecheat played favorites with Lawrence Taylor.It is documented that first year 4-12 head coach Parcells was a diciplianaraian,but he had a few players that had their own rules....L.T. was such a talent Parcells let him be....

We had the qb in for a pre draft visit and the wr we drafted we have his position coach from college. We didnt steal anybodys draft board although it sure looks like it because it is so un whaley like lol

If he earns it hopefully soon :-) noone expected russell wilson to win the starters role in his first camp but pete carroll had a true open competition.. if he earns it he deserves it :-) go bils!

Mcdermott said it is a open competition and i truly belive that in his first camp as a head coach he will stick to that. For all we know yates can beat out tt (he did win a playoff game with houston). If it is truly a open competition cardale could show up and improve to two on the depth chart. Second there are injuries that happen to every team every camp(think trent green starter gets hurt,kurt warner becomes a star) point is we have no idea who wins in a true open competition in april :-) go bills!!

As echoed by others, it's a damn shame that some families have to suffer for the sins of others. I hope at least some of them aren't out of work for long.
Yes very sad to see rob h leave. Hisself wife and two small children lived and breathed bills football and had just bought his very first house last year :-(

If you are a solid team and do not have lots of holes on your toster you can afford to trade down for pics the next year. When you have lots of holes on your team and you are not solid and you decide to trade down you should get a bunch of picks in this years draft. I would have preferred kc's 2,3,4 this year for the swap of picks and not next years. What good is trading this far down if all the prime players are gone? :-(
