1. And I have been short in my post with Q and apologize for that.....everyone has the right to their own opinion.....

I am just tired of the same old crap...I am tired of being "average" I am tired of bing "mediocre"

To be quite honest? This feels a lot like when we brought in that group of free agent defensive players (Ted Washington, Jim Jeffcoat, Chris Spielman) you know the last time this defense was actually GOOD

    - I am trying to figure out how many games we would have won last year if our defense was actually consistantly good.....not a "live and die by the turnover" type but a type of defense that gets offenses off the field on THIRD DOWN.....forcing PUNTS......

    - Would we have ran the ball more? If we got up by 10 points would Chan have hunkered down and ran Freddie and CJ more? Would this have helped Fitz and his interceptions.....would Fitz have taken less HITS........Would the team have had a good enough supporting cast that we actually could play Thigpen and not get creamed? In some 4th quarter blowouts perhaps?

We had some players last year that deserved to be pro bowlers....they were robbed....players like Stevie....players like Freddie Jackson who for weeks went head to head with that Minnosota RB that everyone fawned over.......

Just give me a defense that gets offenses off the field....please....whatever it takes

    I LOVE THIS POST !!!!!!!

  2. There seems to be some confusion about Sunday's win that the Raiders fans did not watch, so I thought I would post some quick details about the #1 rushing team from last year. They did not run the ball in the 3rd quarter, and the 4th quarter was garbage time. Here are all of the runs in the first half as well as passes to running backs:

    1-10-KC 28 (11:37) 25-J.Charles left end pushed ob at KC 32 for 4 yards (31-J.Byrd).

    2-10-KC 20 (8:08) 25-J.Charles up the middle to KC 23 for 3 yards (50-N.Barnett).

    3-7-KC 23 (7:40) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 7-M.Cassel pass short left to 25-J.Charles to KC 17 for -6 yards (31-J.Byrd).

    1-10-KC 14 (6:09) 25-J.Charles left tackle to KC 18 for 4 yards (56-S.Merriman).

    1-10-KC 20 (:55) 25-J.Charles left end pushed ob at KC 42 for 22 yards (43-B.Scott).

1-10-KC 42 (:26) (Shotgun) 25-J.Charles up the middle to KC 42 for no gain (90-C.Kelsay).

    2-10-KC 42 (15:00) (Shotgun) 7-M.Cassel pass short right to 22-D.McCluster to KC 48 for 6 yards (50-N.Barnett).

    1-10-BUF 37 (13:51) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 20-T.Jones up the middle to BUF 36 for 1 yard (99-M.Dareus).

    1-10-BUF 21 (12:53) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 25-J.Charles right guard to BUF 19 for 2 yards (37-G.Wilson).

    1-10-KC 18 (6:37) 25-J.Charles right end to KC 21 for 3 yards (37-G.Wilson). FUMBLES (37-G.Wilson), RECOVERED by BUF-21-L.McKelvin at KC 21

    2-10-KC 19 (5:28) (Shotgun) 22-D.McCluster up the middle to KC 21 for 2 yards (99-M.Dareus).

    3-8-KC 21 (4:58) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 7-M.Cassel pass short left to 25-J.Charles to KC 30 for 9 yards (23-A.Williams).

    1-10-KC 30 (4:27) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 7-M.Cassel pass short middle to 25-J.Charles to KC 31 for 1 yard (43-B.Scott).

2-9-KC 31 (3:56) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 22-D.McCluster left tackle ran ob at BUF 46 for 23 yards (29-D.Florence).

    1-10-BUF 46 (3:28) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 20-T.Jones up the middle to BUF 44 for 2 yards (37-G.Wilson).

    2-8-BUF 44 (2:55) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 25-J.Charles up the middle to BUF 30 for 14 yards (31-J.Byrd).

They had three big runs (22,23, and 14 yards), and on the rest of their runs they did not get more than 4 yards.

So their running game was: 4,3,4,22,0,1,1,3(Fumble),2,23,2,14. Not a perfect day by the Bills, but pretty impressive overall. Their passing game added 4 catches for 10 total yards. I would like to have those bigger runs back, but clearly KC had major problems running on the Bills until they gave up and were playing from behind.

By comparison against the Broncos the Raiders had first half runs of 9,4,5,2,20,11,4,0,-3,0,2,6,3,20,0, so not all that different (4 big, a couple middle, and the rest short) against a weaker Broncos team. So there are our apples to apples details of what each team did in the first half last week. Doesn't have much to do with Sunday's game, but hopefully it clarifies the understanding of what the Chiefs were able to do against our defense.

And please don't forget. WE WERE ON THE FREAKING ROAD.

  3. We won't do it like the Chiefs did... We are going to run it.

You won't be dictating what and won't you will do. We will decide that.

You barely beat a pitiful bronco team and now you want to talk about how imposing you are.

Put your black face paint and stockings on and get ready for 1-1

  4. It takes more than massive bulk and strength to be a professional football player. If his desire and motor are anywhere close to his freakish physical skills, the Bills might have something. Mike Williams was big and Leif Larson was powerful. Feel me?

We feel you. The problem with that statement is one without the other means nothing. A guy that is both big and powerful, with a significant amount of athleticism is known as "Special". I love this draft, the new decision makers and Michael Jaspers potential. Feel me?

  5. Well atleast they got the top of the draft right. Rounds 1-3=A Rounds 4-7 C

    I like the Hariston pick.

But here is a list of players I would have rather had than Searcy any of which would have made me more comfortable than I am.

5(102) Cameron, J. TE USC CLE

6(103) Acho, S. DE TEX ARI

    7(104) Stocker, L. TE TENN TB(T)

9(106) Ballard, C. DT IOWA MIN

12(109) McCarthy, C. ILB MIA TEN

16(113) Chekwa, C. CB OHST OAK

    19(116) Matthews, C. ILB ORE PHI(T)

20(117) Brewer, J. OT IND NYG

Inparticular Ballard fits right into line behind the Williams wall.

McCarthy gets a chance to be a tackling machine.

Brewer is another guy, a wouldn't have minded taking two tackles in the 4th, because right now Hariston looks like a developmental LT not a Day 1 RT.

Not anything against Searcy but with Byrd and Scott and maybe Williams S is probably last on the list not to mention Lil' Donte.

Don't get me started on Rodgers and White. WTF?

White, a smaller, slower Spiller. Genius!

Then don't you just Feel that Nix and company were just taunting the fans with White, "Not another DB you say? I'll show you who's boss."

Atleast Finish out with the feel good Herzlich to pull a day 3 D to a C. We got Roswell right down the road and we need LBs. Do the right thing Buddy.

Edit: Okay now we got some major Beef in the middle. Holy cow that Jasper guy is huge.

If he makes the team and can play, there is no question where he fits on the field. Right in-between Dareus and Williams.

    Ok freak out over.

    Day 3 gets a C.

    Go Bills!

  6. My son alerted me to a sale today at http://www.nflshop.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2245657&cp=2237578&pg=2

    THIS SALE IS TODAY ONLY

Buy 1 get 50%off the second.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

I wanted to buy a black nfl jacket that they are now out of. I also wanted to buy The sideline heavyweight jacket. You can only buy that from the bills store. The one on nflshop.com is only the united hot jacket, not as warm.

  7. i would seriously consider committing the full weight of the organization behind Fred Jackson and dangle Marshawn for a veteran OL, LB or DE or picks. I am serious about this and sticking to it.

    Please put down the eggnog!!!!

    Happy Turkey Day

  8. Throwing the ball up by 30 in the 4th quarter?? Pretty bush..

Its exactly what this team needs to do. We have the prevent and the grind down pat. Just look at the games from the last 10 years. Its the attitude that, we never have enough, is exactly what we need on offense, defense from the coachs down to the waterboy. I have yet to see a team lose from running up the score. I seem to remember a pretty successful team that scored quick and often.

"Pretty bush" is that a reference to Reggie Bush

  9. You need serious help.

Dick Jauron made the most CHICKEN SH-- decision I have EVER SEEN as a Bills fan when WITH A MINUTE TO GO he ran the ball three times into the middle of the line in the HOPES his kicker would make a 47 yard field goal on a cold Buffalo night in November! Dick Jauron is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSEEERRRR!!!!

How you can be a Bills fan and STILL defend this man is beyond belief.

Thank God someone gets it. How the hell can anyone think that a 47 yard field goal in to the wind at the ralph is a gimme. You have to be out of your damn mind. I have to say that was the worst series of calls I have ever seen. This is with consideration to all of the surrounding circumstances. Dick Jauron has demonstrated his ineptitude on monday night for the entire football world to see. This is as clear as it gets. DICK JURON is an absolute disappointment. What the hell are we the fans supposed to think when a series of calls are made that are so obvious. Feel free to review my past posts, I have never written a disparaging post about a player or a coach. This is just beyond anything I have witnessed.

  10. I don't know how old most of you are or how long all of you have been fans but there was a time in the early 90's when we were struggling along and Marino was really playing well when he tore his Achilles tendon. I believe we went to the bowl that year. That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw Brady go down. I wont lie, I cheered when I Marino got that injury. I know im selfish and probably care a little too much.

This team has a lot going for it right now. I still believe that this season will come down to how well we perform in the first half, with Brady down, it sure looks like a lot better chance to hit at least 10 wins.

  11. I feel like I need depression meds. I was getting that, you are coming into our house to get your A@@ kicked feeling all week. This is rough. I look forward to next year but it feels like hell right now.

It was kind of like going to mortons and only reading the menu.

Just got back from Rocky, that only made it worse. Good Movie, just not the most uplifting.

(Tyson had a cameo in it )

    Happy Holidays

  12. ok tough guy, your weak attempt at being funny was just that, weak

they didnt win the super bowl, they beat the Texans...I'll be impressed if they beat the Chargers in 2 weeks

...i bet you're one of these "next year will be our year" guys...they were lucky to beat the Texans and you say there is a legitimate reason for hope now, did you just start watching football this year because they beat the Texans last year and everyone wanted to name the defense...how did that turn out

    845948

Why even watch the game than moron. We will just tell you the score.

Happy Holidays to the rest of you.

  13. I'm calling bull sh-- (yet again).

Chicago's wins have come against Detroit, GB and Seattle, sans Alexander, at home.

Let's give our boys a chance, they might just suprise you. I'll take youth and speed ANY day. These guys are too young to know they're supposed to lose.

    792480

and dont forget the vikings, which we handed a small spanking. The vikings played a close game with chicago. I agree that the bears look good. I believe we looked good against the vikings and will look better against detroit.

This matchup may be closer that a lot of the experts have stated. My pick is the Bills.

  14. 1. We need beef for 3rd and 1's, on O and on D. Losman on a QB sneak looks iffy. We can't stop the beefy O-Lines with fast guys when they're going for 1 yard.

    2. We still need work picking up blitzes. Bell got a sack when WM whiffed on his block.

    3. Villy and Fowler each gave up a sack today that didn't have to be.

    4. We gotta work on the Reed-Parrish pick play that resulted in the called back TD by RP.

    5. Evans needs to read the hot route that all 10 other guys read.

    6. We still miss tackles vs. the run.

While I'm grateful for the win, we need to play better vs. the Jets. Oh wait--they're losing 24-7. Never mind.

    776780

And we all need our beer cold even when they have only been in the fridge for 10 minutes.

Every single single game for for every team on any given sunday will have a list of things that could be changed for improvement. And all of the arm chair coaches have the solutions.

Great win BILLS!!!!! Keep up the good work.

  15. Hey everyone,

I am ready to rumble. Lets get this stampede moving.

Will anyone be meeting the week of august 7th. I will be in town visiting my folks in brighton. I plan to take my son to a couple of the night practices and would love to meet some of you guys.

See you in chat if i dont see you in rottenchester.

  16. The Bills' situation is different from the Pats' situation.  As you know, there are a lot of holes on this team, and the Bills have lots of salary cap space.  However, the free agent market is thin, especially when it comes to guys who a) still have most of their careers in front of them, b) have proven themselves top-tier guys, and c) would actually want to play here.  LeCharles Bentley is a good example: he's been in the league just four years, and he's top tier.  But he's bound and determined to be in Cleveland.

Most guys who have proven themselves top tier have far better options than Buffalo.  The only way to attract guys like that is to throw crazy money at players--and sometimes still get turned down.  The Bengals pursued this model for many years.

Instead, Marv is finding young players who have question marks associated with them, but who have the potential to become solid starters.  Peerless Price falls into this category, as do Robert Royal, Tuten Reyes, and Marv's other major signings.  Supposing 1/3 or 1/2 of such signings work out.  Now you've added young, solid starters to the team, and those guys will be locked up for a few years.  Yeah you had to waste salary cap space on the failures to find the successes, but what else could the Bills have done with that salary cap space?

But the Patriots are in a different situation.  Their team can do something now.  They're a team everyone wants to play for, so they don't need to waste salary cap space on failures to find successes.  They're in a position to be more selective about whom they sign.  There are two excellent reasons the Patriots should spend less in free agency than the Bills: 1) players like Tom Brady eat up a lot more salary cap space than Kelly Holcomb or Craig Nall, so the Patriots need to use more of their cap to keep their own picks.  2) The Patriots have so few holes they could realistically hope to address all of them via the draft.  This lessens the need for free agents.
