Federal student loans have fixed interest rates, which means they won't vary over the life of the loan.
What is the interest rate on government backed student loans?
The maximum interest rates are 8.25% for Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans made to undergraduate students, 9.50% for Direct Unsubsidized Loans made to graduate and professional studentsDo government student loans have interest?
About 92 percent of student loan debt is federal, with interest rates ranging from 4.99 percent to 7.54 percent.student loans have repayment terms as long as 20 years
These were very high interest rates for gov backed loans before the recent inflation.

I mean... I am sad you don't get how government works. Congress passed the PPP. If you'd like we can work out the basics of government this evening. I have a few hours to kill explaining that the president can't decide or dictate the financial situations involved here.
But, yep, cool, you links a CBS news site that imbeciles will cling to...
If you want your taxes to payoff loans for businesses and politicians good for you. They should pay there loans just like the students will have too.

Virtually all PPP loans are being forgiven — despite concerns about fraud, undeserving recipients. And all you need is a simple one-page form to get relief
If you received a Paycheck Protection Program loan during the pandemic, there’s a good chance you won’t have to pay it back.
Millions of PPP loans, at a cost of $770 billion, were given out to businesses, individuals and nonprofits across the country during the pandemic. The loans were targeted to small businesses with fewer than 500 employees to help them keep workers as well as pay bills and overhead.
Almost all the PPP loans — 90% — have already been completely or partially forgiven, according to NPR analysis of data from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had $183,504 in PPP loans forgiven.

Trump Pardons Roger Stone, Paul Manafort And Charles Kushner
President Trump issued dozens more pardons on Wednesday evening to many wealthy and well-connected convicts with ties to his innermost circles, including former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Republican operative Roger Stone and Charles Kushner, the father-in-law of Ivanka Trump.
Manafort, who was sentenced to more than seven years in prison after being convicted of bank and tax fraud in addition to other crimes, was released in May from a minimum-security federal lockup and moved to home confinement over concerns about the coronavirus.
But days before Stone, who is Trump's longtime friend and political confidant, was to report to prison in July, the president commuted the 40-month prison sentence.

Hunter Biden to plead guilty to federal tax charges, strikes deal on gun charge
Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, will plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors and struck a deal with federal prosecutors to resolve a felony gun charge, the Justice Department said Tuesday in court filings. As part of the plea agreement, the Justice Department has agreed to recommend a sentence of probation for the two counts of failing to pay taxes in a timely matter for the years 2017 and 2018, according to sources. Hunter Biden owed at least $100,000 in federal taxes for 2017, and at least $100,000 in 2018, but did not pay what was due to the Internal Revenue Service by the deadlines.
A judge will have the final say on any sentence.

"The Staggering Costs of Being Transgender in the US, Where Even Patients with Health Insurance Can Face Six-figure Bills" - Benji Jones
New York, NY (July 10, 2019)
An estimated 1.4 million people in the U.S. are transgender, which comes at a heavy price. The cost of medical treatments can add up to more than $100,000, and they’re often not covered by health insurance.
“We have suicide attempt rates of 40 percent among transgender people where there are no medical interventions offered, and so we know that’s a failed strategy,” said Dr. Safer.

Why Was Ukraine's Top Prosecutor Fired? The Issue At The Heart Of The Dispute Gripping Washington
https://www.rferl.org/a/why-was-ukraine-top-prosecutor-fired-viktor-shokin/30181445.html
But sources ranging from former Obama administration officials to an anti-corruption advocate in Ukraine say the official, Viktor Shokin, was ousted for the opposite reason Trump and his allies claim.
It wasn't because Shokin was investigating a natural gas company tied to Biden's son; it was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians, according to a Ukrainian official and four former American officials who specialized in Ukraine and Europe.

Will home prices increase after 2 insurance companies pull out of California?New California homeowners could encounter roadblocks when looking for home insurance after news broke that Allstate and State Farm will be pulling out of the California home insurance market.
“We paused new homeowners, condo and commercial insurance policies in California last year so we can continue to protect current customers,” a company representative from Allstate told KTLA. “The cost to insure new home customers in California is far higher than the price they would pay for policies due to wildfires, higher costs for repairing homes, and higher reinsurance premiums.”

These corporations need to just stop playing politics these days or taking up the social issues. No matter which way they play it, they will alienate half of their potential customers. On a good day. Or they can alienate everyone. Like this.

RFK Jr. Is Our Brother and Uncle. He’s Tragically Wrong About Vaccines.
We don’t need measles outbreaks to remind us of the value of vaccination.
Smallpox, which plagued mankind for thousands of years, has been eradicated through vaccines. Because of immunizations, no cases of polio have been reported in the United States since 1979.
He has helped to spread dangerous misinformation over social media and is complicit in sowing distrust of the science behind vaccines.
We love Bobby. He is one of the great champions of the environment.

Can businesses write off loses on there income taxes like Trump always does ? Do workers get paid from unemployment insurance when laid off ? Can students declare bankruptcy when they can't repay their student loan ?
Bankruptcy is often considered a last resort option because of the impacts it can have on your credit and the costs and time involved in filing for bankruptcy.
If you file for bankruptcy, any collections and payments on your student loans and other debts will automatically be paused until the case is over or a judge says that payments should restart.

This means at least 17 percent of all COVID-19 EIDL and PPP funds were disbursed to potentially fraudulent actors. OIG collaboration with SBA, the U.S. Secret Service, other federal agencies, and financial institutions has resulted in nearly $30 billion in COVID-19 EIDL and PPP funds being seized or returned to SBA.
We estimate that SBA disbursed over $200 billion in potentially fraudulent COVID-19 EIDLs, EIDL Targeted Advances, Supplemental Targeted Advances, and PPP loans.
