Rogers 6 catches for 107 with 2 TD's..He had more yards and TD's than all of our wide receivers combined today. Way to go FO.

They commented on Jordan a bit last Thursday when the Dolphins where looking horrible against the Bucs. It made me think of all the pre-draft talk and hype and I was wondering what other big name rookies were not living up to expectations thus far.

 

One glaring example was Tavon Austin -- until he hung 3 TDs on the Colts. Time will tell if he can deliver that kind of big play ability on a regular basis.

The one positive to take out of this situation is EJ will be the week one starter

MAybe not. He has to be healthy enough to play. Remember he is expected to be out the entire preseason and if/when he returns after that will he have enough practice time and be ready to start. We could be looking at Tuel time for week one.

I think it was a good move. My feeling is they would have cut Shep prior to the season. Instead they got something for him now.

My favorite sports column was Larry's. Looked forward to it every week in the paper. Though I didn't always agree with his opinions I liked his writing style. Like a pre internet blog. RIP.

I agree with many of you that the main two reasons why the defense has underachieved so far is that Wanny has been outcoached and the defense lacks a kick ass attitude - "mental toughness" as Chan puts it. Wanny has to make adjustments or get out and the defense desperately needs an IN YOUR FACE guy on defense who won't put up with complacency and going through the motions when things get tough. Ever see Ray Lewis on the sidelines in player’s faces when he's pissed off. There is no one on our defense like this. K. Williams tries but he is too much of a nice guy. M. Williams is a lead by example guy. Dareus is too young/quiet. We had a guy like this -Merriman who had the kick ass attitude, who demanded respect and gave the veteran presence in the locker room. I believe Wanny and Chan made a mistake letting him go even if he lost a step. Hell the guy who replaced him, Kyle Moore doesn’t even suit up.

Agree with Mike, it's not time to worry yet. Would not over analyze the game. It's preseason and there's gotta be very little game planning. It's mostly about looking at individual players so they can set the roster. Remember preseason scores and records mean nothing.
