1. We need to have another group picture.

    :D

    9677

I wasn't in the group picture last year. I will be this time around, 'cause I plan on being there MUCH earlier than last year! I'll have my camera; in fact, I'll probably have 2.

  2. Start driving. It doesn't really start till about 5:30-6:00. And it's all you can eat. I'll be gaining about 5lbs just from the cheesecake table.

I said I want to go; I didn't say I could afford to go. I have vacation time coming up next week (vacation starts next Thursday), so there's no spare time for anything else.

  3. First to get it out of the way....regarding the injuries:

    - I feel bad for Travis Brown as he was having his best NFL camp....I actually dont think the hit was intended to take him out when I go back and look at it it almost seems to me that  Bills OLmen had his forward momentum going towards T. Brown.  I hope he can make it back....but if he CANNOT make it back please DO NOT bring back Doug Flutie....why do you ask?  Because if you ask my Doug Flutie is the type of player that will band aid this offense and have the OL thinking they are getting better when they really are not.....you can also forget about a running game as teams will put in the "Flutie Offense".....just get experienced veteran guy like Odonnel to back up Drew Bledsoe.....Bledsoe is so fricken durable anyway he isn't going to get a lot of time.....JP Losman will be back before the season is over.......

    - Regarding Lawyer Milloy.....I like Lawyer but I actually feel we are not going to be hurt hear as bad as some think if Milloy doesn't make it back until after the bye....why?  Because the fact is Coy Wire is a fricken SS...not a FS.....and I actually think he can excel in that SS position....but that is just my opinion....

    Now for some thoughts.....

    - Drew definately is playing better then last year......simple as that....we have not been scoring touchdowns but they will come....

    - If you ask me I think the bills are keeping Lee Evans as a their very own secret weapon......just watch as opening day Drew Bledsoe throws a bomb to Evans.....

    - I have to say that Tre Teague has been playing much better then many including myself have given him credit for......Mike Williams is getting better by the day and why in the world is Sullivan starting over Marcus Price.....is he still hurt?  Basically I think that when the O Line gets healthy.....you are going to see this team much improved......

    - Magehee is going to be one of those backs who is going to get stronger as things move allong....Shawd WIlliams should def be the 3rd guy......oh and one other thing....this team had better not let Luke Lawton go....I have a feeling about that kid

    - We have a fine group of young corners

    - This game would have been much closer had it not been for all the fumbles.....and considering that the colts went deep into last years playoffs.....it was a good barometer (while the starters vs the starters were in)

    11411

You make some decent points there, but what have you seen that indicates that:

    a.) The touchdowns will come

b.) Price should start over Sullivan

c.) The offensive line will be much improved

d.) McGahee will get stronger as things move along

I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can, but I'd still like some signs of good things to come. So far, there haven't been many such signs. I still haven't given up, as there's still some time left before the Jacksonville game and anything can happen (guys can step up and play well, some free agent could be signed to upgrade a position of need, etc.). I continue to hope for the best.

  4. This was discussed earlier.

Preseason RECORDS mean nothing; preseason TENDENCIES mean a whole lot more. Are guys fumbling the ball, jumping offsides, missing tackles, blowing coverage assignments, etc. becuase it's preseason? If these things do not happen to the same degree they're happening now once the regular season begins, I'll be happy.

  5. Just as we shouldn't be saying 'it's over' or 'there's no hope' at a bad start to preseason, it's just as wrong to write off each and every mistake with the trusty old "it's only preseason". Somewhere in the middle is where we should be: there are issues that need to be worked on, but those issues have not damned the entire season for us just yet.

  6. Preseason dosen't mean anything...who care if the Patriots are 1-2, lets see what their record is after Week 3.

    10753

Preseason RECORDS don't mean anything. Carrying tendencies over into the regular season (poor fundamentals, bad habits, etc.) does. There is still time to work on those things, but they'd better get to it. The regular season shouldn't be the time to recognize and start correcting mistakes. That's what this time is for.

  7. Maybe there's a compromise to be reached: we all want the US to succeed in the Olympics and we root for the sport, but maybe there are certain players who make some feel like not wanting to root for the team.

Personally, I'm just not that interested in the Olympics this year. The whole BALCO thing has me more disinterested in the Olympics, in particular the track and field, than I've ever been. And I love track, being a former high school and college track athlete. I still love my country and hope they do well, but I'm not interested enough to watch and follow it this time around.

  8. Great pics Glenn.  Surprised to see that the Sabres' Sabretooth was there, but some cross-promotion does make sense, especially for the Sabres.

Looks like ya'll had a fun time!  <_<

    Cool photos, Glenn.

Speaking of fun times, what's the deal with you not coming up for the Bills-Ravens game, Chris?

  9. OK - I'm still confused by this party at Sliders.  This is the actual tailgate party just before the game on Sunday Oct 24? It's at a bar rather than at the stadium?

Is there also a bar where Bills fans will watch the game together if they are NOT going to the game?

    8759

Yes, the tailgate is at the bar. It's not far from the stadium (maybe 2 blocks) and the ownership is very good to deal with. Anyone can go there, whether they plan on attending the game or if they intend to watch the game at the bar.

  10. Has to be in a state where lemon trees grow.

"I know you are, but what am I?"

    "A garbage man."

  11. R. Rich....its a bummer..Campy and Mrs. Campy won't make it...its just four of us...maybe five...you guys need to tell Campy he has to go.  Our Buffalo friend in DC got us and GG tickets.  We'll still have a great time

    8691

WHAT??!! No Chris and Teresa? No, that's not happening without a damn good reason! Unless it's some kind of emergency, they had better be there.

  12. Duff's on Sheridan or the new one on Southwestern? I'm not sure where the one on Southwestern is but I'm pretty sure I can find it. My wife and I have been talking about where we're going to be heading out for dinner on Friday so that is an option. Let me know what time you all might be there. Thanks RRich

    8694

The Duff's we went to is the one in Orchard Park (3000 Orchard Park Rd); is that the new one you referred to? I don't know. Anyway, that's where we'll be. No time has been set. We can decide that as the date gets closer.

  13. AMEN to that!!!!!! I can't wait. I'm starting my vacation actually a half day sooner but I don't get into Buffalo till the 9th. I love the opener, wouldn't miss it for the world though last year was a close call because my wife was pregnant, due in Oct. and was a little hesitant about me going without her. She accepted the fact that one of us had to be there so I took one for the team, lol. Anyway, this year will be my 20th home opener in a row, wooohoooooooo for me.

Where is Hammer's lot? I think I asked this once before. I'm thinking it's somewhere near Big Tree and Abbott but not positive. I know I'll be parking in Drive 2, right on the south side of Community Drive (ECC drive) but will take a stroll over to Hammers lot to meet some of you. Let me know please. Thanks and see you all there.

    8686

Yeah, Hammer's Lot is pretty close to where Big Tree is. You'll see it clearly. WGR is doing their show from the lot again, so they'll be set up there. Usually, TBD is right in the front of the lot; you'll see the tent.

If you're going to be in town on the 10th, maybe you'd like to go to dinner with some of us? A few of us went to Duff's for dinner and drinks, and we plan to go again this year.
