  1. I see such a mixed result in views of our #1 pick from last year that I am curious as to who actually believes in him and why or why not.

IMHO I believe in the kid. He seems to have the right attitude and work ethic. Minus a couple "learning curve" injuries I think EJ is our man. He has all the tools and Buffalo seems poised to put weapons around him and I think he can get it done. Am I in the minority or majority here?

What I liked is he always did better in the second Qr than the First, and did better in 2nd half than first in every game. This tells me he is learning and as the game progressed for him the game slowed down. With confidence he will hit the long ball he has the arm for it! Needs to get more comfortable in the pocket and step up (guys that can run have problems with this) I think he will be a very good QB for us. We had young receivers, inadequate line, and running backs did not not take the pressure off. Improve the line, improves the running game,= improves the passing game. WR year more experience and williams brings in experience already. The Wr we draft should be someone to contribute 2 yrs from now when we make a decision on johnson and williams.
  2. Draft 2 need to reset the browser accepted trade in round 2

wish I took trade back option in trade round 1 tried to do it after I saw who was available. Thought browns would accept a trade up for Watkins but did not take my offer.

took mathews over watkins, do not really see him falling to us.

  3. I see a scenario where the QB's drop and the Browns come in and offer their second 1st round pick and a 2nd rnd and 4th to get their QB they may get Mack with their first pick. I think that equals the points for the move. Benjiman would be available there martin and yankey for the second round, te or lb in the 3rd! I would like this !

  4. What I hate most about watching the Bills, is we have a 3rd and 2 and we have to get cute to try and get the first down. I want a smash mouth line that can run over an 8 man front when we need two yards. Right now if you know we are going to run we get stopped. The only cure for that is a better line. See the last few Super Bowls the defense that that does not allow the QB time gets beat. Give me a line that can protect and run over a defense is what I would like to see. Brady has not beaten us with the pass, they have pushed our 3 pro bowl linemen all over the place and made a journeyman rb that they cut a hero. It is the line doing that, not the QB or the fancy RB. Lineman at 9 or trade down, We already have a big receiver in Early with more speed than Evans on the Roster now, what good has it done us? The Clemson WR who is 6'5 and runs 4.5 faster than evens will be there round 3. Thats where we pick our WR anyways!

Line first! Line First! Line First!

  5. I will go out on a limb here, I feel that the Saints is a team on decline knowing there window is closing is why the paid the money for bird and the Bills is on the upswing. My gut is telling me that the Bills will have more wins than the Saints if that so does that make Byrd the problem? No but when you overpay for positions other than QB you can't field serviceable people at all positions for an extended period of time. That is why teams like the Ravens had to dismantle after winning the Super Bowl. I like that we are building depth to our team that is making us better if OBD is thinking this is the year we can get to the super bowl then we should go after Wolfork (like the Patriots went after Revis) but if we were to go to the Super Bowl we would have a difficult time getting back because I am sure Wolfork's contract would cause an imbalance on the team and hurt us elsewhere creating a deficiency. Loosing Byrd hurts, but I think he wanted to move on for what ever reason, I believe the Bills made him a good offer better than all but one team (Saints) The Saint window is narrower than the Bills they were more willing to overpay for a S than we were but we were close and if our offer was not where it was neither would the Saints offer been where it is Without the Bills Byrd is not making 9 million so he should be thankful for our contract offer. If it comes out that we offered $30 mill for 3 Years then definitely Byrd true feels will be out for all to see, as for now we can only speculate.

I for one feel the moves need to be made on the offensive line, our skill players are fine Look to NE they have had wr/running backs do extremely well that nobody else even wanted, If you have a good line almost any back that trusts his line can average 4.5 yrd/carry exceptional back will get 6.0 Brady/Manning/ are only as good as there lines giving them enough time to throw. See the super bowl, Manning had no time to throw and the team was not effective.

I would like to see if an offensive line made an average of 7 million a year and deserved it how good would they make there QB, RB and WR. It the flash we get excited about but it is the line that makes it work if you have 1 million dollar line players we all know what the offense would look like, sack !

  6. Here is my go :

    9 Trade with Browns and Receive (1350) ~ 26 (700) +35 (550) + 71(92) (1342)

    26 Kelvin Benjaman WR

    35 Cyrus Kouandrio OT

    41 Austin Jenkins TE

    73 Chris Borland LB

    102 C.J. Fiedowicz TE

    105 Shayne Skov ILB

    137 Bryan Stork C

    169 Kirby Vandercamp P

    201 Russel Bodine G

I think I got us good line help and recieving with wr, 2 te and two linbackers for the Defenses, plus another chance at an upgrade at punter might have gone FS or 136

  7. I did a three round draft which went this way.

    Robinson

    Yankey

    Martavis Bryant

This solidifies the the line and gives us that big receiver everyone is clamouring for Borland was available to I am still of the opinion to trade down then I think you can get a tackle, yankey bryant and borland too. I like this scenario better!

The only thing is I don't think Robinson or Mathews will be there at 9. Then what? That is why I am thinking trade back.

  8. For those of you having difficulty with $6.00 send me $6,000 for it now does it make it better? Love how price changes people perception. You would be the same people wondering what the catch was if I offered you a free $100.00 bill.

Not sure about this but the biggest jump traditionally for first year starting players occur in their second season. Things should slow down for him this year and improvement in seeing the field ( if that's even the problem) should be observed.

BTW, what were your expectations for the first year QB. IMO, his productions and pitfalls were to be expected, the injuries were an impediment that hindered his production but overall his play was not the reason the Bills failed to reach the playoffs. He has the qualities- intelligence, work ethic and temperament needed to be a very good player in the league. The Bills are very close we just need EJ to manage the game ( think Ryan, Dalton, Wilson)& hit the long ball when the right look is presented by the defense. Go Bills!

I think his performance showed that the games started to slow down for him in the second half. His biggest problems came when he came back form injury. I think EJ has shown the ability to learn from mistakes and build on it. He needs more live reps and a couple successful long passes like the Jets game and he will move forward greatly. This and an improved O line so our running game can be all it needs to be, If you have not noticed there is a move to make offenses more run oriented When did NE do well , when they ran the ball. Balance is the key.

  9. The Cowboys were a team that came to my mind also, despite going away from the 3-4 Defense and it seemed like a natural trade, between 17 and 9...now, whether the BILLS should Draft Ebron is a totally different discussion...

I don't think the cowboys have a 2nd round pick which makes them a poor trade partner for moving up at I would only move up if you get a 2nd in the deal.

  10. after re-watching all the games. paying particular attention to Graham, I was amazed how often he was open. Open in the NFL meaning a half step on a db, pass after bad pass were thrown in his direction. I mean non catchable passes by anyone one! This man has been unfairly assessed by far too many here. Is he elite, no, but he is better than Don Beebe was, and I want him on this team.

If he could be a Don Beebe I would be happy. :) Get a better offensive line and all of a sudden our QB, RB and Receivers get better everyone plays better with time!
  11. Byrd isn't faking, but he's not going to play at less than 100% because that could hurt his market value.

Mario, on the other hand, is going to gut it out at 70-80% with the same injury because he already got paid.

Don't you think by not playing that is hurting his market value more. Who is going to pay 9 million to someone who is not going to be on the field. Also Plantar factitious does not usually just go away it recurs often so it will be long term problem more than likely. I think Byrd probably should have taken the Bills long term deal he might not get as good an offer this time around.
  12. What has Tuel done to make you think he's a good QB? My eyes say he looks like an average High School QB

He has the best completion record of any of the Bills starters gets rid of the ball quickly and makes good decisions, The two times I have seen him practice he looked sharper that the other two quarterbacks. I think he would have been named the starter over Kolb even if Kolb would not have gotten hurt. The sack that Kolb took as the more experienced quarterback against the Redskins showed he is not a NFL Starter. Offense went very vanilla after the Kolb injury. Tuel or Manual it is a rookie QB starting why not Tuel? Has had more playing time.

  13. last season nick hit the wall harder than amanda bynes hits cop cars

  14. The first move that has me shaking my head. Dehavens punt coverage last year was questionable but good results and kick offs. We have had successful returners be it McKelvin, Rodgers, Spiller, and Easly when he got to play so who returns the ball seems to be irrelevant most likely our ST take a step back this year. Just hope not enough to effect games.
