  1. I want to start this topic out by admitting that being a Bills fan, I have a very bias opinion. But in all honesty, This weeks Jets game so far has been a one sided affair when it comes to getting big penalties called and getting plays called. The First play I want to talk about is the George Wilson interception in the first half called back. anyone with eyes could see that he had his hand under the back of the ball wen he hit the ground! Even Phil Simms saw that it was a pick!! the head referee spent a total of 74 seconds looking at the play and somehow got a better view than the rest of the stadium. regardless, nick folk went on to kick a 49 yard field goal for the lead. Later on in the third quarter, Plax had what I thought was a blatant push off on McKelvin that took them down to the 1 yard line. LT would later get the first TD of the game. One last play that I want to mention was the pass interference call on Florence when he tripped over himself and his helmet hit santonio holmes in the back of his ankle, causing him to trip. First of all I would debate that that was an unteachable ball as it was overthrown through the back of the end-zone. But if they truly believe that it was pass interference then cromartie should have gotten one too for that same damn rout against nelson in the third quarter. what do you think guys? you seeing what Im seeing or am I just getting too into the game?
  2. Awesome post! cant speak for everyone else but that is exactly the kind of mindset that makes a good QB, a winning QB... and yes there is a difference
  3. I never said you cant watch college football. I watch college football. I never said you cant enjoy the draft. I definitely do every year. My point is, this early in the season you CAN NOT make legitimate accusations on what our weaknesses and strengths are. teams adjust their offenses and defenses thought the year and that alone changes draft choices. (example: 2007 colts defense) and if you have trouble finding stuff to talk about with this team this year.... i dont have a problem with talking draft, but this early is just plain stupid.
  4. I don't have a problem with being interested in college football. I don't have a problem with being interested in the NFL draft. But when it comes to predicting players we should draft this early in the season, its just foolish. Three weeks into the season no one knows what our strengths and weaknesses are going to be by seasons end, so it makes no sense to make speculation on what players jobs are in jeopardy come draft day. Just like everything else, there is a time and place for draft talk. That time is about week 12. not week 3 I'm not calling out anybody by any means. I'm just having a hard time understanding why a fan would look forward to the draft (the event that teams use to rebuild their team), without knowing what the outcome of their current team is... please help me out if I'm missing something
  5. Maybe its just me, but one thing I was hoping to look forward to this year was not hearing about draft predictions halfway through the season... guess not. Guys we are entering week 4, we are 3-0 and you guys are talking about next years draft! live in the moment a little! in my opinion, if your more excited about the upcoming draft than you are about the rest of the season, you are either a pessimist who thinks we are going to lose out the rest of the season, or your just not a football fan. Me for one, I'm excited about our current team, and the potential we have for this season. The game that we clinches us NOT making the playoffs is the time to start talking about the draft. Not week 4!!
  6. with all due respect, it is very rare that good QBs come to teams consecutively after one another. when you really look most NFL teams they will drive their starting Quarterback as far as he will take them and only when they show signs of decline will they take chances in drafting or making a trade. I personally dont believe in grooming QBs directly due to the success of rookie Quarterbacks recently. When put in the right situation, I believe the system will groom the Quarterback. Dont get me wrong, having a vetran back up is fine, but to go as far as to say that young players need a father figure in the locker room with them just seems ridiculous.
  7. Appreciate the corrections. but still when you sit down to think about, just seeing the players that he is in the same age group with, this guy has so much football ahead of him, especially at the position he plays. And to even think about throwing in a new younger player to compete for his job when he is still in his prime? just doesnt make any sense ... I think the beard throws people off how old he really is. I mean who would have guessed that he is younger than Eli?
  8. One thing Im tired of hearing around topic boards is how Fitzpatrick will be a great mentor for our Quarterback of the future, or about how He is the present solution until we get a younger QB. Guys Fitzpatrick is only 27 years old and is in his 7th year in the league. to put things into retrospect I made a list of QBs around the league that are near Fitzpatrick's Age/Experience: Name......... Age.... experience Fitzpatrick 27 7 E. Manning 30 8 Rothlesburger 29 8 M. Ryan 26 4 J. Campbell 29 7 M. Cassel 29 7 V. Young 28 6 C. Mccoy 26 2 M. Leinart 28 6 So the truth of the matter is, that Ryan Fitzpatrick is just 2 years older than a second year player in Colt McCoy and one year younger than Vince Young. My point in this post is that Fitzpatrick has the potential to still leave his mark on this league and fans shouldn't count out Fitz as a very credible option for this teams Future at the Quarterback position. Anyone have a different point to bring up on this subject?
