Refusing to re-negotiate would signify a higher cost to anyone interested, but since Taylor did re-negotiate Tyrod Taylor may now become more affordable for some teams IMO.
Especially If a playoff contender loses their starting QB during the preseason.

We're a run-first team with Tyrod at QB. He was going to play ~13 games and put up ~900yds which is the same thing he did for the last 3 years. But wishful thinkers will tell you this would have been his breakout year of 1500yds and a franchise tag, hence all the whining.

I'll take trying to get a franchise QB any day over and often injured underachieving WR. ANY DAY!!! Jordan Mathews has had a better career so far compared to Watkins.

I'm on record as neutral to ok with the Darby trade, but I think trading Sammy was a huge mistake.
I think his value is much higher than what he's shown so far...some his fault, but alot is on the QB as well. This trade will make us look worse than trading Lynch if he stays healthy, and this move hurts the offense for the foreseeable future.

I've watched Jordan Matthews drop easy balls perfectly thrown from Wentz often.Jordan Mathews is a good WR, his performance on the field back that up. The issue is that Watkins was supposed to great and an impact player.
Look at the stats and you see that Mathews is a player that is ready on game day, averages 75 catches and 6 TDs per season. A solid #2 WR.
Look at Watkins stats and they are not quite up to Mathews. Not nearly the production you want from a #1 WR. Especially one that is going to ask for a huge raise.
You can blame injuries and you can blame Tyrod but the numbers speak for themselves.
