  1. 2017 (week 5 bye) - Week 6: W, 30-27 vs 2-3 Tampa Bay

    2018 (week 11 bye) - Week 12: W, 24-21 vs 3-7 Jacksonville

    2019 (week 6 bye) - Week 7: W, 31-21 vs 0-5 Miami

    2020 (week 11 bye) - Week 12: W, 27-17 vs 3-7 Chargers

    2021 (week 7 bye) - Week 8: W, 26-11 vs 1-6 Miami

    2022 (week 7 bye) - Week 8: W, 27-17 vs 3-4 Packers

6-0 after the bye under McDermott

    All home games

All vs. teams with losing records (12-32 combined opponent record coming out of the bye)

    Wins by 3, 3, 10, 10, 15 and 10 points respectively.

We now for the first time play an away game and against a team with a winning record.

    Does any of it matter?

Are we better prepared after the bye? Or just better rested?

Yesterday was the team's first practice of the week, right?

Anyway - good luck to us this weekend!

  2. 5 hours ago, Doc Brown said:

Mark it down right now.  This team is going to the playoffs.  We're going to run the table and finish 11-6.  Too much adversity has hit this team over the last four years for it not to happen.  The negativity they'll hear the next two weeks will spring this team like it did in 2021 in a very similar game in Tampa.  It's always darkest before the dawn.

We actually ran the table the last 3 seasons in a row after terrible losses.

2020 Cardinals Hail Murray game, won 6 (after the bye)

2021 Tampa OT game, won 4

    2022 Vikings 4th and 18 and OT, won 6

  3. McDermott record in OT:

    1-5

Only win was 2017 rookie head coaching year.

What about 3 points or less games?

What about 1 score or less games?

If McDermott's team didn't demolish the opponent like they were supposed to most weeks... McDermott is the reason this team cannot succeed.

I am now finally convinced after today.

  4. Let's go through a list!

2020 at Cardinals - Hail Murray

2021 at Titans - Josh slips for loss or kick FG and force OT?

2021 at Tampa, scores 17 in the 4th to force OT and collapsed in OT

2021 divisional vs KC - OT loss (13 seconds)

2022 at Dolphins - ran out of time to kick FG, bad clock management as usual

    2022 at Vikings - OT loss - (4th and 18 JJ catch)

2023 at Jets - OT loss to Wilson

    2023 Broncos - the 12th man

2023 at Philly - well, we all just saw that

3 of those painstakingly terrible losses (Hail Murray and 4th and 18) were killer. BUT! After those 3 games in the last 3 consecutive seasons, Bills came back and ran the table including after a bye after that cards game.

6-game win streak after Hail Murray 8! 2020

4-game win streak after OT collapse to Brady in 2021

    6-game win streak after 4th and 18 in 2022.

Will we do the same this season?

Does the backs against the wall bring out our best regular season games?

  5. I do feel bad for Josh, Diggs, the rest of the guys, this fan base.

But, what does a Super Bowl win do for us anyway?

I have Jets diehards as best friends. Should they go, "well at least we won a Super Bowl," when they weren't born for another 20 years?

    Does it even matter..?

Have we been thinking about enjoying football all wrong?

    Ha!

    Hell no!

Win the effin big one or we suck and are stuck in purgatory forever.

Or, maybe we enjoy having a team? Having Allen and what a joy it is to watch him on Sundays? Look forward to the new stadium in 2026? Tailgating and enjoying pregame with family and friends?

    Idk.

    Is there a middle ground?

Why am I so confused right now.
